  1. Can't stand bodykits, especially when they include putting wider rears on a car that is FWD. :pukeright: :pukeright: :pukeright:
  2. That would be the master cylinder if it only happens when the car if the clutch hasn't been used for a while but returns properly with use or slave cylinder if it happens whenever.
  3. The aux air pump is for heating up the CAT's quicker (like blowing on a fire), that's all
  4. It's often the Throttle body that clashes with the bonnet (on VW 3.2's not Audi), will you be keeping the inlet manifold and TB etc the same or custom making it? KAD's totally right you've done the easy bit, now come on and show us all how quick you can do the hard bit :D :D
  5. Thanks Jim.. Is it really the first time a Storm has had a complete engine conversion?! Surely someone must have done one before? If not I can understand from the aircon side of things! Its is going to be interesting hooking up that to the new engine! God knows how I'm going to sort that, both systems look completely different :( Might have to get some conversion pipes made I think! Anyway all will be revealed soon! ;-) It'll be the second storm to have a 3.2 engine in  Mine was started a very long time ago (last December!), and has turned into a full blown restoration, but given the very little time spent on it, it probably won't be finished before yours! I don't have have air con either, so I've got a spare compressor sitting in the boot of my car if you need one Ben. Hope it all goes smoothly chap, I'll be watching with interest!

nice, got myself one of those too for the same job karl, thanks for doing all the groundwork guys.... :)
  7. The only Mk5 that looks good is the Gti the rest look cr@p, far worse than those standard Mk6 look. I think opinions will change when the Gti is revealed.
  8. No I didn't know that, Mr. Kippax, That's a much better reason to be called Kip than your older sister not being able to pronounce your name (Christopher) as a small child, instead calling me Kipperfer or something- then shortened to Kip.....I get so fed up of explaining it after introductions... :) Nice car btw, Mystic Storms are the way to go !!!!
  9. The best bit about the top pic is the number plate :D
  10. I'm using the VR one if that helps. I don't think there is a set way of doing it but a few on here have used the whole relay plate off the R32, but it's quite messy to fit so it's been junked on my car.... But mine's not running yet either!!
  11. cheers Karl, Time to sell some more of my limbs....
  12. How much do you want for the brackets?
  13. Looks really good, front wheels could do with spacing out a little maybe?
  14. Where do you get the GT upgrade kit from, as I'm looking into this too? Can't find any Seat Brembo Calipers anywhere :( . I've already bought the Seat disks though (£120 from Brakes International) but they are 326mm I think.
  15. Yep, there is only one.
  16. That's not bad at all but only a hundred miles? That's not very far  How did you know how far to push the strut into the upright/hub carrier? Could you use this as a method of lowering the front of the car without decreasing your suspension travel?
  17. Surely! It would be rude not to....... http://www.motorauthority.com/news/coup ... nce-model/
  18. Yeah mine's going to be £635 with Brentacre, 5yrs protected NCD, clean license. there good guys there been with them for years apart from one stray year... Many people have told me I'm commiting a mortal sin by doing an engine conversion on a Storm, but the way I look at it is it's my car, i'm never going to sell it in the forseeable future and I'll do what I want make it better car for me. I also know plenty who'd love an 3.2 storm though!!! The Audi engine with all the extras etc out of a 55 plate TT with 11k cost me £1800 in the end (bit of hassle and negotiation here), and the whole lot will come in well under £5k, paying a friend to use his workshop and do the work as and when he can fit it in, although I have told him how to do the conversion and supplied all the info and wiring diagrams etc. It's 7months on now but the work being done is :thumb right: forget the 12V, it's harder to do, and WILL be as expensive than a 24V 2.8 conversion.
  19. Wheels look silly stuck out like that. Other than that 10/10 spot on. :salute:
  20. Ha Ha, that's what I keep thinking   I'll be able to tell you soon.....
  21. Yep!! R32, but I'm not paying a garage, although I am paying a friend whom I trust to do a better job and charge less, the downside is the amount of time it is taking...!!
  22. Put it this way, neither car is bad. But having owned both for over 5 years side by side I sold the Type R to fund my R32 engine conversion, so what does that tell you? ..........but the Type R is the better car without question, much better handling and LOVED the engine. Never went wrong other than regular service items either
  23. An engine rebuild will cost you a decent chunk of 3k if done really well, possibly more. The 24v is def the way forward. You're in the same predicament I was in, knackered car, either write off 2k or spend 4k!! Keep the Corrado, there gradually getting rarer.... :) :)
  24. r32 all the wayif it's a vr it's replacing. It's basically the modern VR, only a bit lighter and a bit more powerful. No intercoolers to mess about with, no extra bits to find places for. If it's a G60 donor, then I'd stay with the forced induction and go for a 1.8t.
