  1. So long as it's to the top level, the filter doesen't hold that much. Or just fill up the filter before you screw it up.

    R32 engine

How far have you got with it?
  3. If you've got coilovers on your car then and the bushes inside them are worn then they will make a gentle clonking sound over small undulations. Mainly noticeable when creeping forward at traffic lights etc on lumpy/repaired tarmac. Will gradually get louder as time goes on......Solution is a strut rebuild I'm afraid.
  4. Give it to a kid with a Corsa.
  5. Can't you use the dipstick? Just top it up after turning it over...
  6. So you've now got a wider track but kept the top mounts in the same place, but from what it looks like you can't adjust your camber? Perhaps get some adjustable top mounts to save the inner edges of your tyres?
  7. No. Do it properly or you'll regret it later on. It's worth taking it to a specialist too, like stealth, who will actually care about the car rather than the money and will honestly tell you if things like the chains need replacing or not....If you're an AA/RAC member then get a tow there....welcome to Rado ownership!!!!! (get used to cracking open the wallet too!!!)
  8. best bet is to get elsa for vw/audi off the fleabay, everything you need is on those disks.
  9. I bought a Seat Arosa 1.0 for peanuts (no one wants them!!) when my VR engine started making loud tapping noises and has been off the road since for an engine swap. It's really slow, but my commute is heavy traffic so it makes absolutely no difference at all apart from when the car is filled up, £20-30 a week on petrol as opposed to the tired VR doing £60-70 a week...Saves me loads and has never gone wrong in 20K....Definately keeping it when the R32 beast comes back :D
  10. I've got some heated black leather seats, I'll swap them for yours!!!!!
  11. Could be a leak on the plastic bit between the throttle body and the MAF, they often crack where the oil breather joins it, causing an incorrect mixture. I'm thinking they may have rocked the engine excessively and opened up a crack/made one. It's worth a look...
  12. Woo hoo another one done (almost!!), I'm getting mine finished for 12th July (wedding!!) so we'll have to meet up after that and swap tales Chris, just how close is your rad to the inlet manifold though buddy? Mine is awful close......Hope all the wiring goes ok, interested to see how you get on with him.....
  13. Until recently I had an Integra type R, miles better than the Corrado in just about every respect. Had a couple of Civics before that, never ever ever had anything other than service parts replaced on any of the three. I don't think there are many mechanical parts on my Corrado that haven't been replaced over the five years/80k of ownership (although I still love it more than any other car i've owned  ). Your reasons for changing cars are totally spot on, and good luck with it all Cazza.
  14. The standard brakes on a VR will give you a lot of brake fade on a hard run, which is in my books a braking system not up to the job, the disks are too small and thin and therefore heat up to easily, the larger diameter Mk3/TT upgrades are as a result very common  I should thik it's worse on the VR's as it's heavier on the nose. No one likes the spongey over assisted brakes which they certainly aren't.
  15. VERY nice indeed, those wheels totally suit it. Quick query though....looking at the one with the door open, do all corrado's have the same dimpled sill protector with corrado embossed into it, I can't remember mine having it, but I haven't seen it properly for ages :(
  16. The corrado brakes are more or less pants as standard. I think it's fair to say you'd have to drive a few VR's to get a feeling for their performance, there are some tired cars out there. The VR has a fairly consistent band so you never get the push in the back like you do from a turbo car, I looked at at least ten before I bought one. At the end of the day, the very last ones are 12 years old and most have been driven hard at some point, it's much easier to find a nice golf than a nice corrado.
  17. Cheers chap, yes they are much better than the venom ones I think, but still too 'crystal' for my liking, perhaps it's just me but I like the less clear smoke/red type like on porsches and peugeots (more fluting in them), you used to be able to buy them for mk2/3 golfs before the crystal trend took off, now you cant get them anywhere...I think they look better on the car because they look 'smoother' because you can't see the bits inside... Maybe i'm going mad.0705_z+2008_porsche_911_gt3+tail_light.jpg[/attachment:3hrz1sm8]
  18. I've never been tempted to buy a new car, but I do like the looks of the new sciriocco. But still couldn't be tempted unless it was 4wd and V6, but then it would be too expensive for me probably
  19. There for sale at venom, anyone used them? they look like they could be nice if it wasn't for the totally tacky clear plastic that all the aftermarket ones seem to be. Is it just me or do all the lighting options for the corrado suck? It's basically modify the standard ones to totally red (not strictly legal) or err on the side of slightly chav and have the crystal ones. I've got both and just swap them over when i have a change of heart. I would love it if a manufacturer would make some oe looking smoked/red ones. How about getting some names down to persuade venom who have their own range to add a new style to their range, I reckon they would fly off the shelves...
  20. Had exactly the same problem a while ago, twas a buckled wheel (side to side rather than up/down) changed the wheels and it felt like a completely different car, much more steady.
  21. Glad your'e making progress buddy, mine's moving at a snails pace, collecting more powder coated bits tomorrow for which I've been waiting for months. It's inside now though at last...

    VR6 Baffled sump?

You'll have to wear through the wishbone joints before you ground the R32 sump on a Corrado though (as previously mentioned I think), having worn through a few steel ones it's a blessing to have one that is higher up. You can weld up the ally ones no probs either as mine was bought damaged from a scrapper and patched up. But yes if it is banged the ally gets it where the steel would just bend/scar
  23. Got my invoice here, £17 with parts club.
  24. just get a new lens from the stealers. 20 quid.
