The 8V isn't really much better on fuel consumption than the 16V chap. If you drive a 16V carefully you can get 35mpg out of it, and 30 out of a VR (combined). But if you are looking for a fuel efficient car, your looking in the wrong place :( And with deisel being so much more expensive there is little point in converting it for more mpg. The Corrado just isn't a car you own for practical reasons. If you get the 8V then you'd always be wishing you hadn't!!! But I like Silver, it's worth £1250 I reckon given the amount of work needed.

cheers buddy, I'll do just that!

Stick a bicycle inner tube over them (the whole spring and everything) and you'll never have any problems with adjustments, your seals will last longer, and they stay looking new underneath.
-
not really, you should put out a wanted on the forum

Kidz :cuckoo:

Wait and save up for some better ones, you'll only regret it for the whole time you have cheap ones. It NEVER pays to settle for less.
-
Pop down to your local windscreen place and blag a small bit or ask them to do it (they won't charge you unless they are tight). If you use the wrong stuff when it comes to getting a new windscreen etc it can hold too tight and rip the seal etc...

Just stick it back down again with some sealant, it's only trim to make it look nice, the screen is actually glued in place first and then the trim poked in around the edge of the screen to make it look nice....

Are all the 2.8's dbw? Think some may not be, I'm not sure why peeps do away with the dbw and go for an Alfa tb/ other solutions.
-
Are VR6 hub carriers the same as Mk 3 Golf VR/gti ones? I need a pair of Corrado VR6 ones preferably with bearings and wheel hubs still in them.

Hi Karl, Get Elsa from fleabay for Audi and VW, has all the wiring diagrams in there :-), along with a lot more....If you look earlier on this thread I've written a pin out configuration for the ECU but don't use it as gospel. Craig, the loom you need to send off to splice is the one with all the coloured multi-pin plugs on that passes through the donor cars bulkhead (I think that's the bottom diagram), you'll also need to send them a VR loom where it plugs into the fusebox for them to splice it to.

not quite as easy as that chap, but it's not really a problem anyway. Chris, hope it goes ok buddy, that was a quick install in relative terms!! I'm still busy painting stuff and making it look prettey :Fade-color PS if you took a straight edge across the top of your front wings just behind the slam panel, is the engine dead square to it? Mine is about an inch higher on the drivers side, but it looks fine because of the angle of the slam panel, was just wondering if they were all like that? Haven't got my new CV joints yet to check it against the shaft lengths....

like this? :DP220508_22.12.JPG[/attachment:aadrjv1m]

That is bl00dy brilliant. Best mod here so far me thinks.. I will definately do the same if I go turbo. Don't traffic wardens, ( read failed traffic cops) report you then? And do you put a real one on for the MOT :D

What about cursing?

Loved the last M3 more when that came out, but yes the new one is nice, but the three is the most toned down in the aukward styling department.
-
I think Chris Bangle's 'original aukward' designs starting with the revised 7 series have been like an ugly cancer spreading through BMW's range, why are they doing it to themselves? And when they can produce such good looking shapes like the E46. In their day all they have is 'presence', but that doesn't win hearts in the long run, as soon as they are a bit older, no one will want to be seen dead in one.

Thought it was being done a little too quickly for solid modelling!! Awesome results!! Could I have a copy of the surfaces when you've finished? I can then give the panels thickness etc to make them solids for which I'm sure we can find some use!!

Reminds me of the days when mine was cutting out for no apparent reason a few years ago when I went round corners quickly :nono: , it turned out my keys were swinging turning the ignition off! Other reasons mine has been stalling over the years are Cam sensor breaking down fuel pump on its way out Immobilizer/never really found out.

Put the VR thermostat housing on and use that!!
-
is it DSG bigpants? But 5k???? Thats way out dinkus, more like 2-3k surely?
-
Yeah, I had to get another car because of the time it's taking, a 1.0 Seat Arosa, which I think is ace because it's so cheap, £118 for a cam belt change!!!

I'm not just been doing it myself as I don't have a garage :( but it's been going on since December!! It's really been a time thing, and I've been getting all new brakes, brake lines, bolts, lights and everything has been powder coated etc so it will take some time as funds slowly come in. But I'm getting married mid July and we're going around France in the C for our honeymoon so it has to be done before that!!! I'm using stock management, and trying to keep everything the engine requires (eg air pump) if space permits. I've kept it stock because at a later date i might want to add a DSG gearbox/4wd, for which you need the VAG ECU as they all talk to each other to make it run properly. Also it saves me £1000 ish !! It's really not a difficult install physically, but if your unsure about the wiring ask VAG doctor to do it for you or to make a loom up for you, £300ish I think, he can also delete ECU Immobilizer functions etc. Keep it all posted though, I must start my own thread soon!!

Race you... :D (click on it) why do they upload black but open normally?

The S3 has no hub trail as the top mount is further forward in the car to give it the caster. You may find as a result of this you have lost some self centering on the steering depending on just how far forward you have moved the wheels.....along with lighter steering, less bump steer but less 'steering feel'....lots of pro's and con's as always with geometry changes.
