Road testing went well then.... Looking forward to these as soon as I've got the cash ;)
-
Haha "The Big VW Corrado book" Nice title ;) sounds like a kids book
-
Now that's a serious drop.... *Goes off to check his wheel nuts before driving to Austria*
-
That sounds good... how did he block off the airflow to stop the gauge getting fried like an egg ?
-
Thanks will do.....
-
My ashtray holds my cable for the iPod ;) Might just go for that place..... not sure if I have the knowhow to connect up a oil pressure gauge though.
-
oooh nice.... do you have any pictures ? and did you have to use smaller gauges ?
-
I think the stearing wheel would be too large to see dials under it.... I'm thinking about the techo i must admit, just need to figure out some things and get a nice slimline gauge to go in there. Anybody know of one ?
-
That's a thought..... got any pictures of that ?
-
I thought I read somewhere that Bonrath had closed up shop ?
-
Yeah wasn't really wanting to fit a set of 3 gauges.. I saw the rev counter one (I post it) but I'm not sure i really want to be cutting big lumps out of my speedo.... Although I have a spare so maybe *shrugs* I was actually thinking of mounting it in the stearing wheel. I have a mk3 wheel with an airbag inside. Don't need the bag though, so leaves some room to wire this up. Just not sure on the finish it would give if I did this.

I'm after putting in a boost gauge but I'm having problems finding any other solution than the A-Pillar plastic mounts that are around. So have anybody found an elegant solution to this problem.... or am I stuck in Corsa chav hell with an A-pillar gauge.... *shudders* I was thinking about the ashtray... but not sure what would fit here.

No wonder these used to be a OE supplier ;)

I just love those wheels..... I really want a set on mine as well. -
Depends if they were the VW G60 mounts or the GSF ones... the GSF ones are Febi Bleistein if I remember rightly. Those are the ones made of sponge pudding.
-
Nice.... So who wins when you two have a friendly little race ;)
-
Try calling Jabba and asking them.... they might need a reference number though, so try giving your license plate.
-
Cleaner... Depends on the age of your car... I went to a local shop and was told the more extreme ones (like STP) aren't too nice for older engines. So went for a more gentle option. can't for the life of me rember the name of it though. Sorry... Just pop to a local car shop and see what they have.
-
Can't remember offhand sorry... have to take a look at my paperwork. Although IIRC mine hadn't been done in 80,000 miles so much have been done about 1999 ish. They might pull this up from your license plate also.... as Jabba asked me this as well. Although not sure if they'll keep the records as you went through a middleman.
-
If there is a code then Jabba might be able to give you a date and mileage for the rebuild. i know I called them about mine when I bought my G60. Although mine was prior to them starting to code them.
-
Jabba used to mark there's witha code so they could trace them back.... might be the same from another company. It stops people sending one in for rebuild, then claiming it went wrong and sending in another instead ;)

catch_twotwo replied to catch_twotwo's topic in Engine Bay
No problems.. not going anywhere without a nice bottle of oil from now on ;) -
Only twice on a 500 mile trip.... so this is the reliable runabout to replace your rado then I guess :?:
-
hahahaha Gotta love it when they get their friends to ask interesting questions like that ;)

Hope so.... Question is... can I drive it to where it's getting it's work done ? It's a 250 mile trip :?:
