  1. Na english document would probably be OK. I can't get it from the dealers - as they can't write such docs - it's only the guys that have to do with technical data when importing the cars that can do it - sadly here in Norway this is only done by 1! - ONE person, and he doesn't seem willing to help me out getting this document - not sure how it works in the UK but here there is a main Importer - and the dealers get the cars thru them, and it's only those that can give out those statements :( If the dealers in U.K does the importing themselves I presume they might have access to retrieve the tec data of my car as well. Ah ok, i get it now. btw that guy sounds like a complete tool. :censored: I can't help either way but good luck with it all, it'd be a shame to have you fall right at the end. :salute:[/quote:256komrw] hehe - true - most likely won't brake it though but sometime one think it might be the right thing to do when one come up against the gov and other type of beaurocracy ;)

  3. EDIT: Wasn't sure where to post this - feel free to move! I'm in a bit of trouble getting my Corrado registered here in Norway - as the Norwegian importer don't seem willing to help me document weights etc for the goverment type of institution that does the registration here. I'v gotten an ECE document from them earlier but that doesn't state things like weights, number of passangers etc, and I need this to come from Volkswagen - as thos gov goones will not accept a statement/certificate from TÜV :( Anyone know anyone in Volkswagen U.K (main importer) which might be able to make a written statement confirming the weights and other technical info's about *my* Corrado (based on the VIN). This trouble came about when I noticed the Swedish docs (where it's imported from - but originally a German car) have wrong data when it comes to weights, it also have been registered for only 2 persons (1 driver + 1 passanger). As it stands now they only want to register it with the WRONG data - causing it to be a 2 seater and also because of wrong weight possible more taxes on the car :) Hopefully won't end up braking it! (doubt I will - but damn one get frustrated with sh*** like this)....
  4. ] On the other hand only the Corrado had the 2.9 VR6 as standard - where the golf only had this when it was the AWD version.......I guess there will always be different type of "options".....and the Highline VR6 was just that a "Highline" version of that car....
  5. dont want to labour the point but really, like i said on page 1, they already did. its the TT, its been around for over 10 years and isnt going to be replaced anytime soon by anything with a VW badge on it.... I have to disagree with you VW does have many cars the are directly competing with theyr audi relatives - I would agree though that from the VAG line today the TT is the car that stands out as the one beiing mostly related to the Corrado.
  6. I actually think you have to have the car running (at least the brake system have to be pressureized). I had the exact same trouble with my rare brakes after the rebuild, the system had been sitting without power for months, and when trying to bleed the rare brakes (before the engine re fitted), we where able to draw some fluid thru with a vacuum bleeder thingy - but when trying to bleed em properly with the pedal - not fluid came out. After getting the ignition on it worked just fine.........it seem like it have to pressurise the brake system before you can bleed the rear ones :)
  7. Personaly not convinced they will bring out a new corrado - and not sure if it will be all that good for us as to the "exclusivity" of the name and the car as it stands today :). But did VW actually expect the Corrado to bring in much money - IIRC there have talks about the Corrado beiing more of a "show of car" than a car they actually ment to make big profits on. If this hold true though - I don't know :)
  8. IF they ever will bring it back into their production line I really hope it will be somewhat near the shape of the original - although I'm not convinced they will. I kinda like the new Scirocco as well - but it bear not much resemblance (or however one spell that) to the original. it got to get lower at least:
  9. haven't driven mine much yet - but have been a couple of trips on temporary number plates (it's mot registered here yet), but must say it's fun to see people checking the car out - even if they drive more expensive cars then this one lol....:) And that SOUND! - luckily been driving VR6 for years - and never get tired of that sound.......it's even more powerfull on my C then on my Passat due to the Hartmann stainless exhaust :) - not so much sound when idling - but when one floors it, it really make some noise ! :)
  10. OTHER than that the old gal went straight thru - nothing to point a finger at...lol....;)
  11. I would think so to - but highly doubt they will take that as is.........it's a pain in the a**** to deal with these kinds of things here. Just had one guy use a whole f*** workday to get the paper work straight and look at the car - he even suggested I'd get a new appointment to get the coilovers into the paperwork (cause there was sooo much work involved checking it) - this was after waiting over 1 month for an appointment. When I finnished I drove back to the reception and was given a new appointment right away - the same guy came out again - took the car inside, put it on the lift jacked it up, took of the rear tires and measured the thread space on the coils - took him f'in 10 minutes or so to do..........still he wasn't convinced he was able to finish the paperwork today.........so I hung around....lol - ended up getting the paperwork, but obviously it's wrong as it's only a 2 seater at the moment....lol...... I'l have to check into this further tomorrow though.......:)
  12. had a look and seem to be 1240kg - but doesn't say anything about maximum loaded weight - any idea?
  13. Wasn't sure where to post this - but came into a "funny" (NOT) trouble with the guys doing registration work here in Norway. Apparently my 95 VR6 have been registered as a 2 seater (1 driver and 1 passanger) in Sweden. And the cause of this seem to be that the difference between the car weight and the total allowed weight is under 300kg. I'm doubting this to be correct - so have to digg a bit further before I pay the taxes on it - I need to get the data right before registering it, as coming to those guys wanting to change something afterwards I would think would be even more difficult. Anyone happen to have the exact data on those 2 weights - preferable from one with airbags (IIRC you guys never had airbags in the UK versions?) - but would also be interesting in seeing the weight of a 95 without airbags. thnx again
  14. refitted some of the interior trim and rear seats - off to get it checked out before it can get norwegian plates tomorrow - hopefully everything goes well... :reindeer:
  15. have you tried cleaning the MAF? (you can clean it up with spraying lots of start gas on ir) (take it out and hold it vertical so the dirt drains off - and do both sides - worked for me years ago on my Passat - never done any cleaning since then....;)
  16. ended up going with 215/40/16 michelin all around - was advised someone else had the exact same rims without any trouble - might have to do some spacing though.... I guess time will tell - if not I slam em on my Passat....:)
  17. Happen to know what size tires where on this ?. I'm thinking of 225 on the 9" in the rear - but unsure if it will work.......:(
  18. Tonight it's much listening to St.Thomas - or Thomas Hansen as his real name. To bad he died at a very early age - a very good norwegian artist: Corner man: [youtube:hq9e8zus] [/youtube:hq9e8zus] Come my way: [youtube:hq9e8zus] [/youtube:hq9e8zus] Got lot of other good songs - search him up on spotify!
  19. As long as you don't tell us it's your gf bed....lol.....:) btw clarkson did a test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6bD1aoXHkw And YES it does include a Corrado ;)
  20. No idea - I don't think Norway ever sold any Corrado's new so we never had anything lol........maybe 2-3 G60's went thru the dealers as new, the rest is import. I think it might be a US option......
  21. Not sure m8 - I was thinking of 215 but think they will be a bit "narrow" for a 9" rim ?.....
  22. happen to know anything about those toyo tires? (I'v always been sceptical - but seem to have gotten quite a few good reviews)....
  23. I might - but will have to look into that - at least have to get them localy (I'm ordering the other ones from germany actually). reason : saves me roughly £2-300 on em.........it's a shame but that's how it is here..... And they always try to push on some cheaper tires when I ask for the michelin ones (I presume they have a better "pay off" on the other tires they have lol)
  24. As the Michelin Pilot EXALTO PE2 isn't available in 225/40/16 (hopefully able to fit on the C in the rear - if not please feel free to tell). As I think I might something bigger for the 9" rims in the back then 215/40/16 I'v been thinking of 225/40/16 in the rear, but Michelin doesn't make those tires in that size. Option from where I order is: Dunlop SP SPORT 9000 Toyo PROXES T1-R Dunlop DOT 2007 SP SPORT 9000 uniroyal rainsport 2 Falken ZIEX ZE-912 Any tips on what would could be an option?......
