hi guys its done it again , sat in traffic engine temp around 100 oil temp around 110 suddenly pop wiz BANG :onfire: engine dies and i feel quite embarresed as there was a lot of police men :lcop: attending to a tree that had fallen over ( poor thing ) anyway after a couple of mins of spinning the engine over the little bugger fired up again and of i go trying to get home but with no base idle , car kept trying to cut out evey time i had to slow down , now ive checked all the normal things like timming c/o levels plugs leads distributor cap and arm , ive cleaned the throttle body and isv valve , ive also cleaned out the air flow meter and the little bugger was ok for a while and now it all broken again , any suggestions guys as im felling a little down with my car at the mo , i might even leave the little git at home tomorow as a punishment :(

your best bet is to match the wires up trim them back a little and then solder them back together and then tape them up and finaly zip tie the loom out the way , hope this helps buddy :D

not meaning to sound funny but how quick do you need it fixing matey :) -
mate stop taking pictures of your sasuage , theres no need for it :D :D :D nice looking truck though , ive got a tamiya TLO2 which is running a blue ice man motor , no limits speed controler and has ABS to stop those curb crunching moments , im also currently preping a corrado shell to go on it but dont have any decals for it so if any one knows of a decal sheet for a corrado let us know please :D :D :D :D

mate i wouldnt do the drive shafts unless there knackerd , why not pop the clips off and repack then with new cv grease if your concerned about them , if your not sure which bearing it is then start off doing the rears as there very cheap and very easy to do as i said before fronts will need pressing out so there a little more expensive , why dont you jack up the rear wheels and spin them if there worn you should be able to hear a rummble if there shagged also try rocking the wheel at the top and bottom for play this is the easiest way of finding the little bugger , you can also do this on the fronts to check for wear :D
-
when you drove it did you try taking it out of gear when moving , if so did the noise go or did it stay constant ? if the noise was the same then its going to be a wheel bearing but if the noise went you could be looking at a a gear box fault , if it a wheel bearing then there very easy to do , fronts are a little harder as you need to press out the bearing , hope this is some help

kevHaywire said i work in the motortrade and in the last 3 weeks ive had 2 new cars and 1 4x4 have major engine failure in under 3000 miles so i agree you got an old car that needs a lot of tlc mate , my experiance with corrados are there a work in progress you can only improve on a already classic work of art buddy :D
-
ive had the same with my little bugger it turned out to be the distributor playing up when hot , fortunatly i had a spare to try , could be worth having a quick look at matey :D

its the coolent fan run on switch jobby that your after :D
-
my rado normaly runs at about 90 - 100 when driving normaly but when in traffic she will rise to around 110 :onfire: and then the fans kick in and drop down to 90 again , i do sit in a lot of traffic and was concerned about it getting to 110 so i have wired up the fans to a switch on dash so when in traffic you can filck the switch on and it stays at 90 all day and then i dont worry about the little bugger getting hot :D

hi guys need a bit of advise on my 2ltr 16v , on the way home tonight car was running fine but when i got to a very busy set of traffic lights the little bugger started to die on me lost all power all warining lights flickering on and the lowed bag and she stopped , tryed to fire her up but nothing , engine spinning over but not firing , she choughed a little so i stuck her in 1st gear and dropped the clutch just to move the car out the way of the other traffic , after a couple of minutes of cranking she spluttered back in to life so i sat for a mo revving the preverbials of her dropped it back in to gear and managed to drive home (20 miles away) she seemed to drive fine the rest of the way and when home i switched her off and then restarted it no problems , i tryed it a few more times and everything seems ok , ive checked the basics and when i get to work in the morning i will check the c/o level and timming , all connections seem good so i was just wondering if anyone else may have experenced this before or any other suggestions would be appreciated Thanks guys
