  1. Yeah I bought it off TomB back in November. I found some old pics you'd posted up on here, it looked good on the steelies. Its on private plates now but other than that it ain't changed too much. It's still going well and managed to get me in/out of bother a few times! Good luck with the VR mate.
  2. Its said that white cars don't hold their value as well as others, less desirable etc, so you could use that to knock price down? But on Top Gear the other night they reckoned that white is the new black/silver? I think they look sweet but white cars are a pain in the arse to keep clean! By the way Coullstar, I think I'm running your old 16v, 'H149 DFV' 8)
  3. haha, yeah Walesy, thats her, I'd recognise that 'ring' anywhere! :pukeleft: :norty: :pukeright:
  4. 7j on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK-1-2-CORRADO-16V-SEBRING-ALLOYS_W0QQitemZ8067826120QQcategoryZ9888QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. She was a bit on the old side, but she had experienced hands - if the weather was better I'd have got her over the bonnet...............with the polish - she should earn that 50 pence!
  6. Decided to wash the car in between the rain on Saturday and this woman walks past and starts telling me how nice the C is and that she's noticed it a few times "It looks fast, how fast does it go?" etc etc. So I'm saying cheers thanks alot, she then holds out her hand, coughs and asks me for my Christian Aid envelope. I know its for a good cause but I felt like I had been shot down in my C owning prime! :( :?
  7. Walesy, mum and sucks all in one sentence, nice one 16v!
  8. Heehee.....crazy fool! :cuckoo: :nono:
  9. said the man who dances around a flaming line of petrol in his 'bored' video's!
  10. Could you get in to trigger the lock down the window aperture? If you remove the weather strip and have a fish around with a metal rod you might be able to pop it?
  11. I got one from Lidl this weekend, it was only £3.99. I bet the people spending £25/£30 on them on ebay would be too precious to use them in a real emergency! [link=]http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41853[/link]
  12. Now then, I managed to get some pics of the rev counter last night. I didn't go all the way in ripping it apart - belows a pdf of how to, and also details of parts of the gauge that you could check against a 7K one. It may be worth while to wear gloves when handling the circuit boards and the PCB.
  13. Have a look in the breakers section at the back of the autotrader. There might be a few specialist VW breakers near you. Theres a few in Leeds/bradford area listing C's, and many are parts off the shelf/poss delivery. Oh and take it steady when you put the wood in :norty:  , don't want you to mark the outer door skin!
  14. You could try prop the window with a length of wood, dunno if you'll be able to squeeze it in through the holes in the inner door skin though. If you can you need to make make it shorter than the height of the door then slide a smaller piece beneath it to hold the glass up (like an upside down T). I once did this on a mini - its a bit crude but it worked.
  15. Cheers bcstudent - I'm making a right balls of it today!
  16. The gold badge looks a bit Renault Clio Williams to me. You could pull the dent out with a slide hammer, seen 'em on Pimp my ride. Smaller link You have to put a small hole in the panel to pull it, so it'd need welding afterwards. *Mod edit - link shortened*
  17. Argh I can't make the link work - just copy and paste it. :brickwall:
  18. Spotted this on Egay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Corrado-Golf-Gti-G60-VR6-Motorists-First-Aid-Kit_W0QQitemZ4635179911QQcategoryZ9889QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Then I popped into Lidl supermarket at the weekend for some cheap booze, :drinking: only to find the same kits for £3.99! I got myself one and its an exact fit under the armrest. Bargain or what?! 8) :D Sorry to whoever paid 25 notes for one! :( I could have made my millions of this, but I'm feeling generous - spread the Corrado love :luvlove:
  19. I had the clocks apart this weekend to swap my speedo, just changed the gauge rather than the full cluster as i didn't want to disturb the MFA. The rev counter on the 16v is just an electrical connection, the vacuum pipe runs the MFA, it just pushes into the casing rather than screws in so should pull out easy enough. It's worth a try, won't the printed circuit be the same if you get a rev counter from a digital cluster? I'll take some pics of mine tonight if they'll be any use, the rev counter I have is from an anologue cluster.
  20. I hate it when everyone sits in the outside lane to pass a truck they can see on the horizon, the A64's a nightmare for it - I just blast down the inside of them and pull out when I reach the truck. Which then leads to some knob flashing their lights, shaking fists and tailing me. Wish I had one of them LED rear window displays to dish out some abuse. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LED-Moving-Message-sign-4-Car-Shop-Office-Recep-NEW_W0QQitemZ8061433890QQcategoryZ32094QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. I used to work in a petrol station in York and saw a few rare beasts including a GT40 and a delorean. It was near to Elvington airfield and York dragstrip so there was alway cool cars coming in on a weekend. Went to the 'Cars of the stars' museum in Keswick last summer and saw a batmobile, actual Back to the future delorean and Delboys 3 wheeler. The guy that owns the museum uses the batmobile! 8)
  22. A guy in York has one of these: http://www.oldtimersweb.be/treffens/zolder2002/images/alfa%20romeo%20sz%20zagato.jpg He only brings it out in the summer, it sounds awesome.
  23. I've got a 16V, reckon the VR6 is fitted the same, someone will correct me if not. Remove the plastic rad cover, there are 2 brackets that push into the top of the rad, they bolt into the slam panel, undo these and remove the brackets from the rad (keep these as they dont come with new one). Then I removed the grille and unfastened 4 bolts that fasten a plastic sheild onto the rad (directs the air through it) - its quite fiddly, bit easier if you unbolt the horns too. Then unfasten the rad hoses, you may want a tray underneath to catch coolant. The radiator then lifts out up through the engine bay. The rad has 2 pegs on the bottom as part of the moulding, these locate on the front panel, make sure the new 1 sits in these holes. Bolt everything back up, replace factory hose clips with worm drive/jubilee clips - but don't overtighten, put new coolant in, bleed system of air and check for leaks. If all is good refit the plastic cover. An aftermarket rad wont have a VW part number on, but will have a makers name on, I don't know make of factory fitted rad, but ECP rads are made by EIS (german company) . VR6 ones are about £90.
  24. Looks goosed to me, so they fitted it october 2004, or 2005? It may be just cheap poor quality parts. I've fitted a ECP rad to mine, hope it doesn't look like that in 18 months. If it was new there may be a gaurantee on it, probably would only be 12 months but its worth going back and asking them.
  25. I'm not sure if you need to remove the injector rail, the injectors pull free from the rail on 16v's - did mine recently to replace the seals, be gentle though! So do you just place the loose injectors into the ultrasonic bath then?
