Someone on here made up a prototype a while back, it was around when I first joined the forum. It looked quite good, but I can't remember who it was making it? Found it: The search function is crap From your post it sounds like they went round the handle rather than for the lock barrell, but it might be worth fitting delocked (passat rear) handles, at least to the passenger side if you don't have r/c/l.
-
AFAIK there should be another plug hanging around for the driver/passenger side fog light, it's blanked off but the wiring still connects there doesn't it?
-
"Boris's been doin shat's next to the bonsai trees again!"

Couldn't have said it better. Keep it - fix it yourself. Even if you get one in finer fettle you'll have to take it to the garage everytime things break - and they do break. You'll save money in the long run if you DIY.

she needed to see photos before she realised it was a tiger? ffs! There's nothing wrong with being a bit backwards, we's only sees pigs n sheeps normals like . This is a local village for local people, we'll have no trouble here! :porc: :luvlove: :thumbleft:, :cat:  :shocked!: :D The best bits that the police say to be vigilant and ring them as soon as you see it. How do you 'be vigilant' when your face to face with a tiger?? It's nice of them keep out of the way and not risk having their legs bitten off. ar$eholes

This is the talk of the village where I live: Big Pussy I just hope it doesn't take to sitting on the C's bonnet like normal cats do!

I'm with the AA, they do a joint cover option, for 2 people living at the same address, its about £20 more than single cover, so saves a lot of cash if you and your partner need cover. Makes sure you get cover that is person specific rather than just car specific, some companies may be cheaper as they only cover 1 car. Person specific covers any car your in, even if your just a passenger so in theory if your on a bus and it breaks down they should come and take you the rest of your journey! Don't go through insurance companies offering cover with a breakdown provider as you pay a premium, e.g Churchill and greenflag (approx £30 more for same cover through Churchill than direct through Greenflag).

:shocked!: :pale: You worry too much! I worked at a petti in york, they had a refurb and the tanks get drained, relined and refilled, all the system brando spanko - soooo many cars go through those places in a day, they're unlikely to be pumping crud into every1's tanks really are they! Take a deep breath and relax  :-P

I got mine from Wilco motorsave, I'm unsure if they're a regional chain but you should be able to get it anywhere really. It cost me £8.99 and one can will easy do the whole rear set. Demon tweeks stock it: Savage, but its £10.99 and then there's postage.
-
Mine's exactly the same, my bro's Golf 16v starts straight away though. I'm thinking injectors - but can't afford to swap 'em without being certain.
-
A couple of years ago my mini got broken into in York. It was outside my girlfriends and we'd been out on the lash that night, anyways alarm goes off at about 4am - I heard it but was too hammered/lazy to get out of bed.:drinking:  Got up next morning to find the drivers window smashed - but they must have scarpered straight away as nothing else was touched. Bit of a barsteward but it did its job. I'd never have a car without an alarm - never mind everyone else ignoring it, it gives you a chance to do something if you hear it. I religously put a disc-lock on now too.
-
saw this and thought of you - car looks spot on btw! http://www.dvlaregistrations.co.uk/home/en/Gallery/?plate=G4+VRG&m=2&v=56 Cheers Gav, Gav

I think you'll pay a premium if you go through a bodyshop - it's unlikely they'll have facilities onsite. Put it into google and see what you get on the IOW? I popped it in and came up with this company: A D Precision Engineering Ltd 3a-3c Rink Road Industrial Estate Ryde PO33 2LT Isle of Wight Tel: 01983 810701 Fax: 01983 613987 They don't have their own website but it came up, give 'em a ring and see what they do. Make sure you see examples of their work too.

Hey up mate, I laquered mine at the weekend. They come out dull if you just use the tint on its own, rub it down with 800 grit wet and dry, then laquer and leave them 24 hours to dry. Afterwards the laquer looked a bit orange-peel so I rubbed down again with 800 grit and plenty water, then buffed up with T-cut to bring back shine. Do the bottom half too as the red won't match and it will look pants, I don't think it's legal to tint the lights at all tbh, but who cares? BTW take it easy reversing as your reverse lights won't show up!

Dirty weekend? :norty: Never mind don't come knockin' when this van's rockin' it should be don't come knockin' when sciroccotune's doggin'

I got a fuel filter from GSF for £7 exc postage. Goes without saying but I wouldn't take the C back there if it is just the fuel filter. Arse bandits.
-
I wouldn't rally the C, as said before get a cheap motor, perhaps a 205 gti? There's nothing wrong with FWD, I think the main problem with the C would be ground clearance - you'd have to raise the suspension and plate the underside - basically making it look crap. Plus if you get something like a nova/corsa, pug etc then many other people rallying will run them too, you could make a few contacts and then get cheaper rallying parts/spares through them?
-
Thats the fuel filter, there's a 'how to' guide, with pics, in the knowledge base section - have a look and see if its the same part.
-
It just bypasses the ignition switch so the engine should try to fire as soon as you connect the lead, so be sure it's out of gear before trying it. Have you actually tried the jump leads to jump start the car?, if you haven't got another car to connect to just stick the charger on it for a couple of hours to top up the charge. Are all the connections still on the coil - you could have knocked the wiring? Also is the engine earth strap in good nick and clean where it connects to the block and body? Plenty petrol? Good luck, I hope you get it sorted mate.
-
I'm unsure if this applies to car headlight reflectors, but don't touch the reflectors with bare hands as the silver reacts with the salt residues on your skin.
-
Give it to me? I wouldn't throw it at the valver as you'll never recoup that if you ever decided to sell it on, sell the valver, get a decent G60 for around 3k and keep the rest as something to fall back on.
-
I've seen 'em sold on here s/h before. There's quite a few cars breaking at the mo so it might be worth trying to get one if you can get RAC guy to fit it. Is your screen chipped or just leaking at the edges? Mine's been replaced before and silicone is visible from inside the car, you could try resealing it? Mine leaks too but is going in to be replaced soon as I've got a big dirty stone chip in it.
-
Don't think your insurance company would take very kindly to you doing that. They'll be well aware of the tricks/scams people try to put by them so prob won't let you, or otherwise will dump a big charge on you for downgrading the policy after having the glass done. :nono: You could always befriend someone who works for autoglass?
-
Fully comp ain't normally that much more than TPFT, try it on churchill website or such like, get a quote online amend the level of cover and see the difference in price. Its probably less than price of a new screen fitting without glass cover (circa £250).
