  1. Don't think you'll find they are. They are 5.25" or 13.5cm in the doors. Then I think you'll find they are 1" tweeters in the dash however they are supported in a plastic mounting bracket! Sorry Blue_Joe, I should be hung, drawn and quartered for not knowing my C inside out! My brother has a mk2 G and bought 10cm JBL speakers for his dash, they come with adapter plates that unbolt to allow them to go in various dashes. The box says 10cm and I presumed that the C's would be the same.

    Oil leak

Steam clean it all off and then you should be able to see where its coming from.
  3. Is the fan switch the bolt in sensor at the bottom corner of the rad (battery side)? I swapped this over from my old radiator to the new one, easy to do, give the thread a smear of Hylomar before putting it in and you'll need fresh coolant too.
  4. I've always thought it was normal to run at these temps.
  5. My 1.8 16v runs at about the same temperatures. I've never heard the fan cut in when the engines running, but it cuts in about 30 secs after parking up when its warm.
  6. Say you've been to a safari park and the monkeys stole it, I saw that once on 'Police, Camera , Action'!
  7. Gutted for you mate, hope the damage is only skin deep. C looks nice btw, and those mirrored sprinter windows are big pimpin'
  8. I get my service parts from GSF all good quality parts, they did sell me the wrong fuel filter before though, mines fitted with banjo bolts and they gave me a push on type. I don't know how much parts would be at the stealers but surely GSF are cheaper, oil filters are only £2 for 16v.

    Wheel Grumble

She's doing well and hasn't given me too many probs...yet! The radiator popped and left me stranded on the M1 a while back, got decent breakdown cover now though, is your taxi covered for your trip? Not sure what else it could be on your G, try swapping that wheel to the otherside, then you'll know if its caused by the wheel or something else.
  10. Bu hi af a sicksteen valv an hi iz clevur Cheeky fecker

    Wheel Grumble

Hey up Tom, it sounds like it could be the wheel bearing on its way out to me? To check for play jack up the car so the dodgy wheels in the air, grab the top and bottom of the wheel and then pull back and forth as if your trying to tilt the wheel vertically any movement/play indicates wear.
  12. haha, pink shirt and hot pants too eh trigger?? Like Earl says it's all Karma, you work in a spot on area, but look like a bummer in the process!
  13. To be sang to the tune of the American National Anthem: "Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light, Potatonet’s Corrado travelling at the speed of light? Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight, with Corrado forum members – words like ‘bullshit’ they were screaming? And the rockets' red glare, the Joe cell bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that the brainwashing was still there. O say, does that star-spangled corrado yet move O'er the land of the free and the home of the insane?" :cuckoo: :salute: Lyrics penned by Oxide and Neutrino.
  14. Let the neighbours moan, tell them some little scrots are damaging your car, chances are it's happening to others people too - all rally together and get out the pitch forks then catch the basturds and burn them in a giant wicker man. But seriously ask if anyone else has had any trouble, then your not on your own, they'll be paranoid about they're cars and twitching the curtains too. Report things to the police too, its no good catching someone and involving police if they have no record of the 101 things the basturds have previously done to the car.
  15. because they are watching for planes ;) FFS I hope you haven't posted too much up about you location H3R4POR, otherwise OsamaBinVR6 will be flying round your way sometime soon.
  16. Schitter ain't it mate, the same happened to me. I had 3 sets of footprints over the roof, one of which put a slight dent in it. I park mine right outside my window now, but by doing that they went for the gf's poogeot instead, smashing the rear quarter window. The poogeot lives in the neighbours drive opposite now.....and I keep the baseball bat by the front door. :evilbat: Where are you having to park it then, can't you get it nearer yours?
  17. I've used the blow torch on loads of stuff before to free it off, never on coilovers though! It works a treat, but your best to leave it to cool down naturally afterwards to prevent any distortion.
  18. Depends what you get I suppose, I only got some JBL GTO 6" x 4"s for the shelf supports, fair enough they're used, but whenever I've been in Halfords the radio's been set to play through the biggest sub on the display wall - boy racer style. I doubt the speakers I got had received much abuse - and there's nothing wrong with having a budget!
  19. You could try putting a bit of heat on it with a blow torch? To stop it happening again you could try a product called 'Anchor Wax' (big on the air-cooled scene) I think its made by Morris, it's similar to waxoyl but better and is used to seal boat hulls and rat-look buses! :thumbleft:
  20. Halfords do sell ex-display stock, but at a reduced price. I've bought ex-display speakers before, you do have to ask though. I can't imagine your head unit being ex-display though as surely one was already on display for you to know the had it??
  21. Don't get too paranoid as it's only a car, the best thing you can do is make sure your insurance is all up to scratch and get a proper valuation etc. Someone tried to nick one of my cars when I lived in York and I had many a sleepless night with the baseball bat :norty:, fcuk knows what would've happened if 10 of 'em turned up. Up your security and if it's kids they will soon fuck off, but I wouldn't go all out and make it obvious from outside the garage as they'll probably do something out of spite. You could empty the garage, keep the car elsewhere (somewhere safe!) and leave the door open over the weekend, that'd confuse 'em!
  22. Wish it was me mate but I'm back at work in Leeds, I reckon a few people might have stayed down there for the week after RTTS. A few of my mates are still down there on the Watergate camp site they're in a yellow ghia, blue and white bay camper and a helios blue mk2 16v GTI. 8) Your a lucky git having that view out of the window when your at work! I look at an industrial estate and a railway line. :x
  23. Hey up Trigger, I spotted your car a few times over the weekend, I was staying in Watergate bay for RTTS. I passed you on Friday morning coming down into the bay, red valver following a yellow Karmann Ghia, you were driving up the hill - would've waved but I was half asleep. I pulled in the lay-by to check yours out yesterday, looks v nice mate and I didn't notice any dents but you had a massive bird shizzle on the headlight. :splat: 8)
