I had mine replaced on the insurance. When I called she asked if it was tinted-top, to which I said 'no' wishing I'd said yes. She called back the day after and said they could only source tinted glass...I was well pleased. I think you could request tinted but it'll cost extra. Check it thoroughly after they've done it. Mine went to Autoglass at 10am, they hadn't called back by 4.30, and I needed the car to get home. A colleague dropped me off at autoglass at 5 to 5 and all but one off them had gone home. There was glass all under the seats and sealant smeared all along the inner trim - particularly the top edge. It didn't leak - but I wasn't too pleased. Good luck! @ Goldie - they'll try repair the chip first (free), if its too bad they'll do the screen.

Are you sure you guys actually drive Corrado's?? Or have you just got Corrado driving simulators on your PC's? Nerds!! :lol:

I realise that keystarG60. I was only posting up what I'd seen on another forum and thought it may be of use to people on here. As Dinktionaryus said it's probably not a good idea to put up pics with number plates, especially if your coming on here boasting about how you did 165mph down the M1 etc. Cheers for clarifying HIC and their association with Highways martinb, still not a fan of HIC but each to their own and all that.

I spotted this on another forum. Might be of interest considering the HIC ad that has appeared on the portal. Big brother is watching you! :albino: From my personal experience they are shyte, but I never had to claim through them. Yay or ney anyone?

I went to VW festival and the only 3 C's I can remember (apart from mine!) were Bally's, Riley's and G60Griff's and all 3 have yellow in their lights. I didn't realise they were your cars until seeing posts on here after the show. Nice and different IMO 8)

Where abouts in Leeds are you Critical_Mass? You don't really need to take the steering wheel of the remove the instruments - although it would make it easier. You could just drop the column down to the lowest height on the adjuster for a little more room. I've done a quick diagram so you can see where the screws are (red arrows). The top diagram is how to remove the black plastic surround, the screws at the bottom corners are under plastic caps which should pop off. Once the 4 screws are removed this should lift out. The instruments are then held by 2 screws at either side and once these are undone the instruments will move forwards although all the wiring/speedo drive will need to be disconnected to remove fully. No pics yet, it's being deliverd on Thursday so I'll post some up Friday. It's a '66, same style indicators as yours. I think I'll get a cheap Polo to plough around in over winter, but I'll see how it goes first. Any luck with the bulb?

Found this, it's for an Elise but from memory looks to have the same stuff in as my Cobra alarm manual (my manuals at home). Hope it helps.

I'm paying £250 to get a car brought up to Leeds from Kent (approx 260 miles) so it aint cheap. I considered the AA thing but it's not really worth it if they say no - plus they'd probably suss somethings dodgy as it's got a spare engine in the boot! (In the interests of all things educational I feel it is necessary to point out the flat backs are also referred to as Beavertails) Trailor hires cheap (£45 for a day) but they want big deposits (£250), and you need a towbar :pukeright:

:offtopic1: Loving the notch vwdeviant, I've promised myself one for a while now - and finally found one on VZi. Getting it next week and I can't wait!! Bit of a bummer though as the C's going to have to go to pastures new :cry: Not sure on the bulb though, surely its a standard fit for lots of cars rather than just C specific?

No not him, here's a link to the website, the guys doing courses to show you how to build your own distillery/reactor. £165 aint too bad considering what you'd save - on the programme the guy struck a deal with the local chippy to take the oil for free, as the chippy had to pay business rates to get rid of it anyway.

There was a programme on BBC 2 called 'its not easy being green' and the guy made his own bio-diesel distillery from an old water boiler. He ran a landrover on it, but it was more complicated than just bunging veg oil down the filler neck as the glycerin content makes it too thick. You have to distill the chip fat/veg oil to seperate the glycerin, leaving crude bio-diesel. Methanol and something else go in with the chip fat then its heated up and stirred causing the chemical reaction. That programme was 8), the guy doing it is that bloke with the big 'tash who was always on scrapheap challenge - another 8) programme.

Most Corrado's have already been fitted with Thatcham approved alarms, so I'd expect that to knock a bit off your quotes - although you won't know the alarm make/model until you find the car. Otherwise budget for a good CAT 1 alarm (approx £300).

Yeah, connected up the the alarm LED they'll flash in time with it - couldn't it drain the battery though if left for long periods?? BLACKG60...aka Kitt, nice ride Mr Knight :lol:

I'd take the steering column cowling off and check out the wires under there. What is the little black box thing you unplugged? Is that cooling related? perhaps thats the solenoid I mentioned?? see if the ignition goes off if you unplug it again?

Or disconnect the battery, same sort of thing happened to me on a mini I had, there was a solenoid in the wiring from the ignition switch to the Starter motor - it'd failed and so stayed switched open when the ignition was off. It even started itself once on the driveway!! Dunno if the C's the same but worth a look, otherwise could be the ignition barrel/starter switch? Hope you sort it dude.

I guess for LEDs you'd use something like this - the black bezel would give a nice OEM finish. It'd look good, but I'd still have a switch inside for the C/L.
