Whats the most embarrasing moment you've had in your corrado
16vradge replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
Lost the back end on a roundabout in the centre of Leeds at 5pm on a Friday. Tried to correct it and it span the other way exiting the roundabout and eventually stopping sideways across a dual carriageway. I felt like a right tit - never posted it on here until now, and check the 'spotting' thread for a week following, would have been just my luck to have been spotted. -
I wouldn't worry too much, it'll only reduce your % slightly, provided you've sold loads of stuff already, if not sell some tat. I went to see a Mk3 GTI last weekend and the back end was all filler - it was a right dog, yet from the pics it looked mint. Someone still bought it for £2300!

Check inlet/outlet pipes on radiator. I had same problem with mine and it turned out the worm-drive clip had been overtightened and cracked the plastic pipe under the top hose.
-
Nice one, hopefully I'll be able to sort it and have no more bother. If they do it again and really fuck it up I'll just run them over in it. Then they won't be laughing.

I'd definately get one with proximity sensors. "GET BACK YER BASTARDS OR I"LL BREK YER LEGS" as the warning would be good.
-
Its a really slight dent but I notice it straight away every time I look at it. Unsure what to do really, don't want to pay out loads to fix it for them to come back and jump on it again. I'll have to do some surveilance.....Rambo style

:x Some little shits have decided it'd be a laugh to run up the bonnet and over the roof of the rado this weekend. I'm gutted - I live in the in the middle of nowhere and still get shit like this from chavs. I've managed to get the scratches out of the paint but there is a light dent in the roof. Its about 20 cms from the back, right next to the ridge that drops down to the black inserts. I popped the headlining down to see if I can push it out but its above the runner for the sunroof so I couldn't get to it. Has anyone used those 'paintless dent removal - mobile bodyshop' guys? Any ideas of what they charge?

Spotted an M reg VR6 outside the Big Bite sandwich shop, Fulford Road, York on sunday morning. Anyone? -
Petrol and matches

The top elbow snapped clean off my rad on friday - on the M1! Previous owner had replaced the factory hose clips with jubilee style clips and overtightened it a bit! My rad steams when warming up due to cold/damp weather, did it with old rad and still does it with the new one. New rad for my 1.8 16v was £55 from Euro car parts. I think g60 ones were about £85, made by Eis (German)

I've got the same problem with my 1.8 16v, can't work it out at all. It started on FRIDAY 13TH!! and has been a pain in the arse ever since. It runs sweet once its started, or from warm, but coughs on first turn of key from cold and then is reluctant on 2nd go. If I hold key for 30 secs and pump pedal it eventually fires. I'm going to try new fuel filter and if no luck a new fuel pump.
-
Mine was doing this, I drained the system and put new coolant in, making sure no air was trapped in system (engine running, cap off expansion tank, heater on, + revs). I guess coolant was changed when your head was done, perhaps level drops when you increase revs due to air lock? Have you tried to bleed system?, air could be left in after head was done?

Do the towing eye covers seperate from the front bumper? I've cracked one of mine and don't want to fork out for a full bumper. Cheers
-
Hey up I noticed you said its standard bar the exhaust, my mate had an RS turbo and put a massive exhaust on, it ran closer to the fuel lines and as soon as it got warm caused the engine to run crap. Worth a check??

no spark 1.8 16v when starting/probs starti ... help plz

Has anyone solved this yet? It took me 20 minutes to start my 1.8 16v this morning. Put it down to being Friday the 13th, but after reading this thread I reckon I'm having the same problems as you guys. Fingers crossed it starts at 5pm - I'll be gutted if I get stuck at work!! -
I've just ordered german plates, gunna have stadt stickers on front but leave rear without. I ran a car with incorrect spacing on front, but correct on rear before and had no problems. Coppers aren't likely to spin their car round and chase you if your fronts wrong, and if they follow you and the rears right then your ok. Dude at dubmeister said he spoke to DVLA and german font is legal, if plate doesn't have D band, as it complies with TUV which is equivalent to MOT and we are all part of the EU.

Mine wouldn't start the other week, finally sorted it - after lots of @*@?!, new rotor arm, dizzy cap, petrol and oil it turned out to be a £3 engine earth strap!

Cold air from heater is probably because of coolant loss causing an air lock in the heater matrix, rather than a problem with the controls etc. Try removing expansion tank cap and top up system (engine off and cold) leave cap off and start engine then turn on heater. Gently increase revs and water level should drop as air is removed from system keep topping up system heater should blow warm when engine warms up, refit cap. Loss of coolant may be from water pump, may come out as really fine spray when engine is running? Have you tried a new coolant temp switch? Hope this helps

Sounds like the mechanism needs adjusting on the door, or otherwise the pin on the b post. The allen bolts may not have been tightened 100% after removal for paint and so may be slightly mis-aligned with pin?? Tried to get some passat rear handles/mechs this weekend, handles didn't snap shut after opening is this what happens when they are broken?

Mines the same, just got it and previous owner reckoned it was the top mounts. Its been lowered and only makes clunk at low speed and from passenger side. Could it be because theres less weight on passenger side??
