  1. IIRC when researching MOT after JonesMark's recent "issues" apparently the MOT states basically tyres must be suotable for teh wheels mounted to.. I.e. Stretch IS an MOT fail.... and stupid.. (All IMHO)
  2. Because we told them Jim.. Have to agree TBH.. You know who the best people are for "Lane" manners? Van Drivers.. Mostly
  3. Very nice Yan.. so what's the plans for this (apart from the charger beening serviced and the suspension dropping)?
  4. In fact by utilising antithesis to maximum effect (i.e. by talking about it's the slowest car they've ever made) they cleverly highlight exactly how fast it is, whilst retaining plausible deniability. Like I say it's a beautiful and clever advert. I haven't enjoyed a car advert as much since Honda's "Hate something" cartoon a few years ago. Should have made it out of cake.. oh hang on some-one did that! Great Halo Advert... Now I'm off to join the R8 Forum.. who knows in about 20 year time we'll see you all there!
  5. What fingers? Yeah I do, Yeti gave me some good advice which was rubber gloves and plasters.. seemed to work ok. Apart from one small patch on my 2nd finger which I always sem to rub trought with Wet & Dry Mind you I don't have any fingerprints either.. so it' off to teh local bank vault I go!
  6. Yup and not cheap from my "Mini" source either (Guy who works at Cowley).. He can't actually get them for his Mini as they are special order..he did offer me 18" Cooper Works wheels though.. hmmm
  7. Been Far too long since any updates here.. thing is apart from running her there's not much to report. Done a Moonroof transplant.. still needs adjusting as wasn't an estate roof as was told :( And fianlly got on with the wheels this weekend.. inspired by the Nice weather... Starting: Corrosion and lose paint stripped.. Paint off with 80-grit: Scratchy... 1/2 way through (about 600-800 IIRC) Quick polish to see where I was: Final Polish for the moment: Vauge reflection shot: Difference Front (orig) to back (done) Night shot: Yeah only one done but this took me best part of 4 hrs (all done by hand, no machine) and OK not exactly a Show finish but just wanted to tidy them up, and TBH with a winter coming would be a bit mad Mirror polishing them! Now only the other 3 to do (this was the worst for Corrosion) and have sorted out a Black and Decker Mouse so the inital stripping part will go a lot easier..
  8. Only problem is unless you have satelite no WRC.. :( Will be interesting to see how this pans out, especially as Ferrari were deemed to be running an illegal part at the start of the seaon, but no action was taken other than a slapped wrist and "don't do it again Luca" from Max... I must admit that it was very bad timing for Lewis' car to mysteriously die... and WTF was the 3-stop decision by McLaren? They do seem to have made some really mysterious tactical decisions this year... Alonso? Where will he be (Renault) next year? He just didn't seem to have the heart to chase the Ferraris, a whole second a lap slower? At times it looked like he was out for a Sunday drive... not exactly the performance of a double world champion... For all the "bad decision" that Schuey made he never gave up...
  9. Dec the problem seems to be one particular team seems to be getting "Caught" this season... the reason this happens is because stuff like the tyres usually has a blind eye turned to it.. as does a hell of a lot of rule bending. I'm sure it's down to the fact that there isn't one person romping off intpo the distance this yeat that means all eyes are everywhere... and McLaren are pretty silly if they thought they could get away with it seeing as there's an "Independant" inspector in their pits... BTW Hamilton did an out and in lap on the "Second" set so hardly scrubbing in a fresh set for an advantage... All eye on teh telly at 17:00?
  10. Hmm John sling a tenner on for me too.... Apparently the stewards will make a dcision either late tonight or early tomorrow (I guess it will depend on how long Luca needs with Max to decide how to shaft McLaren)
  11. Hey all, apparently the MOT has recently changed in it's severity . Does any-one have any ideas where you can find a complete run-down of the checks as some of the fails on a mates car seem "Picky" so say the least. I'll sling up reasons when i see teh fai sheet.. but two were: Power steering belt slips slightly under full load (at full lock) Number plate lights are incorrectly positioned and too dim (They're factory!)
  12. Uh oh.... Apparently was Wet and cold at Interlagos...
  13. No more airbrushing been discovered then?
  14. Try and run it at least once a week, and by run I don't mean start it and let it warm up, that will kill the battery. Take it for at least a 20 mile blast... give it beans when warmed up properly, and then treat it gentley the last few miles to let it cool slightly.. Then If it's wet give it a wash and rinse, dry it off and put it away. Used to try and do this with my Aircooleds if they weren't being sorn'd over the winter... Waste of tax otherwise..

IceyGhay gets my vote... or White... WOW! Irish Green Pearl! Yipes! A brave owner to have that out the box... Any-one got any decent pics of the Khaki pearl effect colour?
  16. yeah have seen some somewere... Try Gay-bay international as they will be a Germany/US only option at a guess...
  17. Still need to replace the bulb in my Slider heater controls... anyone found a suitable replacement? No-one seem to list one... and with the 2nd winter with dark heater controls....:(
  18. Coxxy.. don't fit as in you can't get wheels over them? Can you post up the mounting dimensions as per Jon's post above if you have the calipers off the car. I'll have to have a look at an S the next time I see one parked up and see what the clearance to the stock Porsche wheels are.
  19. PMSL more for the Funky dancing... Quality ad though...
  20. You keeping yours too Bill?
  21. Cool Ok so lets see if I have this right Jon.... Boxster S calipers... Ibiza Cupra discs... What Mountings to get the Boxster S calipers onto the 16v/G60 hubs?
  22. You'll be buying Porker Pipes next Andy! Actually there's a Porsche Kettle that's rather nice.. but £150+ IIRC...
