Split Manifold Any Fixes? Running Issues fixed/ cost
vwdeviant replied to vwdeviant's topic in Engine Bay
Cheers Matt, I'm pretty convinced it's Exhaust too will have to get on my mates 4-poster next weekend.. Well the rough runnings really getting to me.. after yesterday morning's Buckaroo ride to the station I was dreading the return leg in the torrential rain.. and guess what! Fekkin thing didn't cough or splutter once! However this morning was Ok right up until I had to ford 2 floods, (I would have turned round but that would mean a 6 mile detour and I was 1/2 way into the first as I was following an MGF in the dark and he just went in at 30! ) and then it turned into a pig.. was really lumpy on acceleration and almost stalled at the next junction.. all squeeling belts etc.. so revved it a few times to try and get some heat into the soggy bits, nursed it out on the clutch and after 2 miles and onto the dual carridgeway all seemed fine again. I'm beginning to think it's either the AFM on teh airbox, or the same problem as Jim had ISV Cured Jims Fault? -
Yeah but keeping the Nozzle in the tanks an art-form apparently! Using the electro stimulator is quite hard too. Hah Thought you were a real man, not one who uses "toys" ;)

And cue the "my dash started smoking" thred... Mate in all seriousness they installed an alarm in one of my old cars using Scotch-connectors and drilled a hole in teh bulkhead above the fuse box to run wires and didn't use a grommet... chafed wries and a fuse-box waterfall whe I reversed off the drive! Buy from there but self fit, Stereo's aren't that bad.. -
Yeah but keeping the Nozzle in the tanks an art-form apparently!

Well despite a weekend of no noise and smooth power delivery, it came back first ting this morning! Maybe it was the snow last night? Anyway worse than ever now, car just kangeroos below 3000... then smooths out... no visable smoke from the back (that I can see in the mirrors)... Am beginning to think with the damp that it might be electrical? Been told the 9a can be interrigated for fault codes by VAG-COM? Any-one know if this is true> Oh and the MPG was reading 11.6 today! Normally its about 30-32 on that run! Co-incidence -
Hi Steve, Take it you didn't manage to get it working this weekend?
-
As Stormseker Seems to have left the building (last visit March 2006!) Would one of the Mods like to update the list please? As there's no-one current listed for Oxon despite Steve having VAG-COM... Oh and apparently you CAN interrigate 9a engines with VAG-COM.. ?The Phirm have done it?
-
Beat me to it.. ;)

Bit :offtopic: and into 20v teritory...but as all the FI brains seem to hang out here... Anyone know of a co. who offer ready made 1.8T Conversion downpipes for the Rado.. can find MK1/2 goof ones at QPE..
-
looked at the QPE website and no downpipe listed for Rado.. so will the Mk2 one fit?
-
Hey, Short notice but does any-one have VAG-COM in Oxford/Aylesbury area? And is also available this weekend to pop over? Need to do a systems check... Cheers, Jon

And I just thought it was my 60-a-day habit! Furkz, you sure you're ready for all the hairdresser comments now you have a soft-top?
-
Yeah, I do too. To be honest they probably don't much care that their kids are out committing attempted murder, just so long as they are not getting in the way of the telly whilst Eastenders is on. Hunting rifle and a powerful scope?

Ok so where else did the 2.0l 16v 9a live? Corrado and Passat of "Certain ages" (but unsure of what ages..) Anywhere else? SEAT/SKODA/AUDI?

anywhere to pull over near these bridges? Had a similar thing happen years ago when I was in my Cab, roof down and got water bombed from a disused rail bridge.. Never knew the cab could stop or reverse so quickly.. jumped out, straight up the embankment just in tiome to see the little scrotes dive into some bushes. I pulled two out and the ohers followed.. threatened them with dropping them off the bridge.. never happened again.. Otherwise, set fire to them!

Check voltages at the plugs.. and also clean up all the light loom earths/connections etc.. anywhere there maybe a voltage loss.. Also source a Loom.. andyVW is doing plug and play on here.. but you'll have to wait a while..there's a list! ;)

Ewan, looks really nice! Good to see it's out (even if only briefly!) Will look forward to seeing this around next year! What Steering wheel is it? Looks like Momo Racer? Had one in my old Rocco, greatest wheel I ever held! -
Kinda back on topic.. BP super(shite) unleaded is £1.10/ltr in Aylesbury! Regular's 99p/ltr.. Guess which I chose with the last £10 in my pocket!
