Ok something been bouncing about for a while... and one question comes up.. Are there any 1.8T conversion parts available off the shelf that make an install easier? I'm thinking things like downpipes.. Waterpipes etc. ?

Am I right in thinking this is just a VR6 issues or does the 16v/G60's suffer too? Just my memory (which can be a bit wobbly) seems to only recall VR owners having this issue?

Steve, can't help you with your VAG-COM issues but may I borrow it soon? Having engine issues with my 9a-16v and just waiting to see what VAG-COM will pick up engine-wise from this...

Any-one know how much info I can get from VAG-COM from a 9a engine? Want to see if it's any of the Sensors, Knock/Lamda etc... as well as the obvious noise..

Yeah, it's a big metal thing sticking out the engine... ;) Someone had to say it.. I drove an old van that was pinking to death under load once (blew the HG on the way home aswell.. :) ). It's surprising how much it sounded like a small bolt or washer bouncing around in a tin can. But it's much less regular than a tappet would sound. Yeah funny... so what are the tell-tal signs of an exhaust gasket gone? I assume some form of "marking" from the hot gasses? DrMat now you have me worried about pinking, thing is it still revs & pulls as usual... and no mayo/oil in water either.. so fingers crossed!

about 15 gallon IIRC... dunno what that is in ltrs though.. £6-70 in real terms.. ;) There's no way the G60 tank whole £60-£70 worth of fuel. £45 is about the max. So that means the valver has a bigger tank! £40 of Tesco's finest 99-ron super at £1.04 :mad: only just saw over the 1/2 way mark ,, from the red.. :shock:

So moving away from Goldies "Shny tat" (only joking mate)..... What mounts are needed? Rado specific or Golf Mk2 16v? Yans you mention a solid front mount? Do they differ from KR-9a too?
