  1. Ian, what pipes should I be tapping gently then? I'll try that tonight when I get home. It seems to be dripping down from where it was before, down around the water pump and the power steering pump (i think) and onto the ground. Can't tell exactly where but it's also now running down the sump. No idea what to do. Spent a total of 14 hours on the car at the weekend trying to sort this and no luck. Cheers for the ideas so far guys. Keep the help coming.
  2. Hey guys. First of all big thanks to g-man, Henny and andycowuk for their time and assistance over the weekend, I wouldn't have got it done otherwise. Ok, replaced my waterpump, thermostat and thermostat housing as I was loosing coolant and it was dripping down from the waterpump side of things. Old pump looked buggered and the seal was totally gone. So imagine my horror when I got everything back together, put the coolant in and...... drip, drip from the same feckin place!!!!! Seems now to be dripping down the sump too so I've no idea what's going on. On another note, I'm still getting no hot air through the vents even when the engine temp is in the 90's and coolant temp is around 90. The fan still kicks in and both the top rad hoses and the bottom ones get hot. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on and how I can fix it? Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Graeme
  3. Got the bits I need for this. Will be doing it in about 10 minutes time. If I have any problems, I'll be on here looking for some guidance if that's ok. Will be doing the water pump too so wish me luck. Thanks for the input so far guys
  4. What is the part number for the crank bolt? There are two types are there not? Want to get the one that isn't sh!te
  5. Ok, what's the part number for the crank bolt? I don't want what happened to Henny and Supercharged to happen to me! So I'll have the charger and alternator off and the water pump will be replaced. How do I change the crank bolt and the timing belt and tensioner? Will be getting done on saturday so be prepared for emergency posts regarding the work. Might take some pics and do a how to of it. (I'm sure I said that about doing my alternator tho). Cheers for the tips guys, keep it coming
  6. Sorry if this has been covered before, I tried the search but got 42 pages of results and I'm at work so can't browse them all to find it if it has. Whilst I have the alternator, charger and bracket off for changing my water pump I was going to change the timing belt and tensioner as the car will be partially in bits. I've got a couple of questions before I jump in and break my car at the weekend. How do I change said items? Do I need any specialist tools? Anything else I could be doing with changing while I have all this off? Any feedback appreciated, cheers
  7. Another Black J49* GCD Corrado? Bugger me, that's scary. 3 that I know of now

Alternator has to come off too but that's easy enough. Just hope I can do it in a day. Need to invest in some axle stands methinks. Is the timing belt and tensioner easy enough to do?

    water pump

Just back from Euro and got water pump, thermostat housing, thermostat, water pump seal, timing belt, timing belt tensioner and some V.A.T for £55.01. Forgot to get some G12+ though. Should I replace the power steering belt too at the same time? Hopefully this will sort my car out, fingers crossed tho. Is it something that I could do with my Halfords Professional 150 piece tool kit or do I need specialist tools. Obviously, the buggered knuckles and ample swearing will be needed but anything else? My biggest engine related job to date was replacing the alternator a few weeks back. Am I better getting a reputable garage like Star Performance do it for me?

    water pump

Slightly off topic but not quite here, sorry Chris. Could someone possibly look up ETKA for the part numbers for a waterpump, stat, and housing for a 92 G60 please? need to get mine fixed soon and a mate of mine owes me a favour at the stealer so should get the bits at trade. Cheers
  11. just done a quick search for "supercharged diesel" on google and it all appears to be BIG engines that are supercharged. Reeeeaaaalllllyyyyy BIG engines! Sounds like a crazy idea to me but not in a bad way if you know what I mean. Boost return kit on the diesel then?
  12. You can also get the chrome or brushed effect twisty heater dials if you have the late style interior. Trimsport do em i think

Henny Not checked them for a while tbh. It's something I rarely do and always mean to do regularly but forget or say "I'll do it tomorrow". Going to do it regularly cause if I don't, tomorrow may never come :( Storm Classic Tis a 92 G60 I drive mate. Lowered a bit on lowering springs and uprated shocks (I think. Done by a previous owner). Mabye I should get my spare back in the boot (read: bby another steelie from the dealer) and that might help. I'll see how the old girl does on the way home tonight. Cheers guys

Went to a garage on my way to work and checked the tyre pressures. Now I know it's the garage pressure guage but..... Fronts were 30, not too bad so upped them to 33ish. Rears were just above 20 so upped them to 30. I'll see how it went when I get home from work. 20psi on the rear.... bugger me. Is that not a tad on the low side??????

Just looked through 29 pages of results for tyre pressure related posts. Page bloody 27!!!!!! Typical. Found this though. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... e+pressure was the thread I was on about earlier benj. Hope it helps you out.

I thought the manufacturer specs were deemed to be way too high by other people on here? The pressures will get checked on my way to work in the morning anyway, cheers mate.

Ah, sorry. When I said it caught everyone behind me out I meant they all got a surprise when my ass went all over the road in front of them. Tyre pressures will get cheked on the way to work, 33psi front & 30 on the rear sound about right? (15 inch Steelies). How do I check the rear brakes for grabbing and how do I sort it if that's the problem? Another thing is the bushes and topmounts. THey sound like a bit of a nightmare to sort out (expensive I mean). It done it again on the way home from work and it's actually starting to REALLY worry me. Thanks for your replies, keep up the suggestions and helpful info

Hey all. Here's one for you. A couple of weeks ago I was going home from work and I approached a bend that I've been round more times than I've had hot dinners. It's a 90 degree job so it can't be taken at high speed unless you are a bit crazy. Roads were a bit damp so I was going about 25-30mph and... wheeeeeeeeeeee, back end snapped out. Wasn't too sever, just caught me (and all the cars behind me) by surprise. Now any time I go round a roundabout in the wet I really have to go slllllooooooowwwwwlllly or else the rear end starts to twitch a little. I'm getting a little concerned. The front tyres are nearly brand new, the rears not so new but have loads of tread on them. My tracking is out a bit and I'll be getting it done soon after payday but what could be causing this? Suspension bushes? Suspension in general? My crap driving? Any suggestions appreciated.
  19. Cool, cheers Gavin. Didn't want to miss anything out just incase it was important. :)
  20. Hey Ant, G60 alternator is V037 903 018 X if that makes any sense. £95 + VAT from the dealer but just over the ton if you get cheeky discount!
  21. OT here sorry. quikstu, is that the late great Cliff Burton in your avatar now? Sweet
  22. R32 for me. Then a trip to AMD for their bi-turbo and re-chip fettling and lots of power (I hope). I have never driven any of the above cars.
  23. Hey all. I've just tried (and failed) to change my sidelight bulbs. I've just read how to get them out by searching for it on here. So that's not the problem although I've still to fit them. It seems that the headlamp it's self is not connected at the bottom in any way. When I was trying to get the sidelight bulb out I noticed that the bottom was moving in and out a little. Is this right? I mean, I've had my G60 for 2 years and never had to change a bulb and this morning when I spotted the sidelight out I though "easy peasy" but oh no, buggered if I could get it out! So looks like tomorrow I'll be getting a pair of pliers out and pulling the sidelight bulbs out. Anyway, are my headlamps fixed in the appropreate manner? Cheers peeps
