They're not original fitment, however you'll be able to get some more from http://www.justmatz.co.uk ... 8)

2nd - Interior or exterior handle? The interior one can't be messed with without taking the door card off... 3rd - there's a load of screws inside the glovebox by the hinges which hold the door on. There's a plastic cover which slides straight down over them and this sometimes flicks up and stops the door closing properly... Otherwise, it's possible that an alarm fitter has removed the glovebox in the past and not re-fitted it quite right... there are screws as described to adjust the door and also to remove the entire glovebox... 8)

oi! quit replying before I get chance to!  See above edited post... ;)

oil cooler is reasonably robust, but the do sometimes give up (I've had to replace a couple before when they broke down internally and dumped the oil into the water... :| ) Odds are it's just that pipe that's given up... *edit* will you stop beating me to the reply! Right, if you're worried, take it in and don't tell them what you think it is... If they diagnose it and get it wrong, you'll be in good standing to jump up and down and yell about the extra cost and (if it's a good garage) then they should only charge you for the parts and knock of the labour on the head gasket... ;)

Feck, sorry I missed you... was in my own little world today... hey! Where was Slot? I missed his :? (and didn't bother to take any pics of my own car...  ) The second interior was from OvalTheMoon and is for J-Dub so I'll be able to move her about again while I work out what engine/interior she'll have in the future seeing as I sold her leather... ;)

who? me? Didn't see the point in washing the car this morning as it would have been an icicle by the time I got out of the carwash! To say this this show lived up to its name this year doesn't really convay just HOW cold it was! Anyway, I too cruised the carpark and took some pics... 8)

oooh..... niiiiicccceeee..... 8) :notworthy: -
if you've just split the hose which feeds the oil cooler then you may well just have washed some old oil off the block which would make the water on the floor look oily... ;) The water pipes from VW range from a couple of quid, upto £70 for some of the more complicated ones... If you've split the one I think you have (the one which comes up from the waterpump to the flange on the front of the block with a T-piece half way up to feed the oil cooler) then be prepared for the worst, as this is one of the expensive pipes... :|

MOT doesn't care how bright your lights are, as long as the beam pattern is correct... ;) It'd be difficult for the police to prove you are running illegal bulbs 'cos they won't be able to take 'em out if they're on 'cos they'll be too hot to touch! ;) Personally, I stick with legal bulbs and one of Gav's looms... makes most new cars headlamps look poor to be honest! 8)

look for where all the brown wires in the boot lid go... that's the earth point for the boot lid! ;) 8)

...they also list the correct lambda sensor in Etka if you look under MKII Golf... ;) 8)

before you try to start your car again, check your dipstick to make sure there's: a) oil in there still! :| b) no mayo in the sump If there's no oil, or what oil is in there looks like coffee, then the odds are that you've blown your head gasket. If there's a coffee looking liquid in the expansion tank, but the oil in the sump is OK, then the odds are that you've damaged your oil cooler when the alternator fell off, although it's still possible you've blown your head gasket. The only way to check the oil cooler is to remove both pipes off it and to then run water though it via a hosepipe and see if the oil level rises or the water coming out of the cooler is very oily... If it runs clear and there's no signs of the oil level rising due to water getting from the cooler into the oil supply, then your head gasket has gone... Which ever way you look at it, if you're not sure about any of this, you are gonna have to get someone to have a look at this engine before you run it again else you could do some serious damage to it... :|

A FEW internal mods?!? the only standard bits inside the engine are the con-rods, bearings, oil squirters and oil pump... The pistons cost over £600 alone! :| I think it's fair to say that it's pretty close to being as far as you can take a G60 engine while remaining with all VAG parts as you can get... 8)

Andy T, they list 'em, but you try getting hold of any... :| I had to get my 11mm ones custom made to fit only my Borbet C wheels and stay hubcentric... (they act as the spiggot ring as well as the spacer! ;) 8) )
-
you'll find that anything over 5mm and under 13mm will have to be custom made for you... (I searched everywhere for some! )

riley, check the earth point in the boot... it may be that your number plate lights are earthing back through the spoiler and stopping it working... Check to see if they work at all and then operate the spoiler to see if anything else happens with 'em... ;)

Neil L., open it in paint and save it as a JPG (Jpeg) file... They're MUCH smaller than Bitmaps (BMP files) and load a lot faster when on the internet... 8) You'll find that most sites frown on bitmaps for pictures for those reasons... ;)

keep it coming guys... there's some great info coming out here! 8)

all dash bulbs as standard are 12V... except for the warning lamps in the clocks cluster which are mainly LEDs except for the main beam one which is a bulb with a blue condom on! 8)

and you can't simply stick a probe up the exhaust on a G60 'cos it's got a Cat which will screw up the readings... hence the sniffer pipe... ;) If you've de-catted the car, you can remove the pipe and simply use a bolt with the correct thread to bung up the hole... (or if you're feeling clever, stick in a second lambda sensor and wire it to a A/F meter! ;) )

nice to hear Harry.... I always forget about that vacuum pipe as it's about the only bit on my engine to have never caused me any hassles... Then again, I did replace it as soon as I got my first G60!
