  1. mine arrived this morning... 8) Well impressed... they also marked it as "gift" so no inport tax! 8) :D
  2. FurkiG60, that cushion lives in J-DUB as it's blue to go with the car! (looking at getting some more of these cushions anyway so I can get one in grey to go with the new cars paint... 8) ) mmm lime green... now THERE'S an idea... 8)

    Dash Light

yup. The bulb is accessible from the rear of the clocks, so you don't even need to open up the instrument cluster... 8) TIP: drop the steering wheel to its lowest setting... makes working on the clocks a lot easier... 8)
  4. yup... they're a sod for just randomly giving up... :| There's a quick way to check if that is the problem if you have a set of jump leads handy... Connect ONE jump lead from the earth of the battery onto the bolt which holds the starter motor onto the gearbox Try to start the car. Simple huh? If the car starts with the jump lead on, the earth strap is knackered, if it doesn't then your starter motor has jammed and either needs freeing off (remove it and clean up the shaft which the gear slides up to engage the flywheel... or just beat the cr@p out of it with a wooden mallet! ;) ) or replacing... you may find that you still need to replace the earth cable even if you can unjam the starter motor though... ;) Good luck! 8)
  5. locked due to this being a dead group buy.

    Spacers - G60

Flex under load? Yup, especially when you're planning on lobbing the car into corners like this... ;)
  7. they're OZ Turbo series 1 wheels.... Quite rare and rather collectable by the MKI and MKII golf peeps... 8) don't like 'em on a Corrado though... look way too small IMHO... :| (ebay auction for a set here 8) )
  8. nope, that's not a valve, it's a lump of crud... There shouldn't be ANYTHING in the pipe which runs from the top hose to the expansion tank...
  9. they're Borbet Design A 2piece wheels if I'm not mistaken... pic here *edit* Actually, you may be right Dinkus... They could be altered/deep dish versions of These wheels 8)
  10. ummm, Kongo? think you forgot to put in where you're on about... ;)
  11. corradowales, all of 'em should have... It's just done by the relay... some may have had this removed if the relay has gone faulty and been replaced with the cheaper Golf version which wasn't variable... 8)

    1.8t into a vr

Oettinger SLC, UK spec cars have a digital speedo sender anyway... 8) CoxyLaad, US spec cars have a mechanical speedo cable... ;)
  13. Louie Lungbubble, nope, it's the sound of Tom trying to wind me up...
  14. Tom? Sod off... I am not a relation to that washed out tennis playing prat...
  15. simply order the new barrel with your existing key number... ;) It is a drill out jobbie, or you can buy the whole lock mechanism and simply remove the old one with a set of maul grips and a hammer (thanks to Stevemac who put up a how-to on that one! ;) )
  16. am I weird then, 'cos I have mine 1 down from the top... :|
  17. My surname's Hennam, so when at school I was known as Henny... 8) I tend to use it for most online forums/addresses, sometimes with my DOB or G60 lobbed onto the end if someone else has taken Henny already... 8)
  18. door seals on MKIV golfs are crap and tear too... (got 8 of 'em in the staff carpark with various seals sticking out from under the doors... )
  19. have a word with 16VG60... his 1940cc conversions are pretty damned good... (got one in J-DUB which is about to be transferred over to the Grey G60... 8) ) Bags of torque and plenty of horses to go with it... 8)

    water pump

exactly the same parts as for the Valver Grim... ;) Get the bits from GSF or Euro, they'll probably work out cheaper than VAG's trade price...
  21. FurkiG60, I may just leave it red as it seems to annoy everyone apart from me... I never see it 'cos I'm normally inside the car!
  22. yeah, with ya there Kev... I just ignore the petrol gauge and go by the trip counter... I know that once it hits 340 miles in J-DUB (70L tank) or 280 miles in the Grey G60,(55L tank) I need to fill up! :D 8)
  23. yup, deffo dodgy earth there or dodgy gauge matey... Check behind the clocks for where all the brown wires connect to the bulkhead and make sure that they're all OK...

    water pump

It should be around 2 hours to do the waterpump on a valver at a garage... Don't forget to put on a new drive belt, PAS belt and get some G12+ coolant too while you're doing it (if the belts haven't been changed recently) as there's no point putting old ones back on again... ;) Make sure you get the FULL waterpump, not just the impellor, as the housing wears on 'em too and the full pump is only a couple of quid more expensive... 8)
  25. Nope, Sorry, you can't... The needle's on a semi-circular connector (as is the temp needle) so it'll only go back on in one position... :| I know, how wierd is that, can Germans not count? Guys, you're all forgetting that the car is German, and therefore METRIC! ;) The tank is NOT 12 or 15 Gallons, it's 55 or 70 Litres! That's slightly over 12 or 15 gallons, however half of it IS around the 7 or 8 gallons shown on the gauges as the readings are rounded to the closest full gallon for the halfway mark... ;) The reason that the tank level gauge varies so much is that the tank is an odd shape, so it's not a perfect "if the float is half way down the tank's height, you have half a tank of fuel" scenario... There's a fudge factor built into the gauge sender/float mechanism which tries (allbeit badly) to correct the reading so it's more linear...
