  1. fitment should be identical unless someone's put a late interior into either car at any stage... :| Odds are that if they look the same (especially window switches and dashboard switches) then they'll swap over with only the normal amount of swearing needed... 8)
  2. Classic Green or Mystic blue
  3. that was a photoshop done by someone here... :|
  4. 4 MKI Golfs, 3 MKII Golfs and 3 Corrados (1.8 16V and 2x G60s) Still got both G60s, although one of 'em won't be a G60 much longer...
  5. I've lost count of how many times that question's been asked about that episode... :| That was the very episode which made me decide that when I graduated University, I was going to buy myself a Corrado... 8)(which I did! :D )
  6. Supercharged, nope, Lee's number plate is A20 LEE... And his car's not blue...
  7. fans are expensive... :| (although slightly cheaper from GSF or Euro) More likely to be the fan switch which is about £10... 8)
  8. dunno if it's the best way to adjust it to be honest... you'd have to ask someone in a body shop to have a look and give you an opinion on why it's catching.... :| Anyway, the wing is bolted on by a load of bolts in the engine bay (along where the bonnet fits into the wing), 3 bolts down the door edge of the wing (2 in the wheel arch, one inside the door shut above the hinge) and then there's another bolt at the front which holds it to the lower part of the slam panel.
  9. http://www.eutags.com sells 'em... 8)
  10. fair enough guys... I've been using DB cartrim for about 12 years on and off and have never had problems with his products, work or service other than occasionally getting hold of Dave can be a bit awkward 'cos he's busy! If you're going to Dubfreeze on the 20th, he'll probably be there with some demo stuff so you can see what his quality is like... 8)
  11. IMHO it'll knock a couple of hundred quid off the value of the valver if you take the leather out of it... As long as you bolt it all back in properly, there's no reason you shouldn't go for it... 8)

    water!!

could be as simple as the fan switch (about £8 ) or as expensive as a new fan and motor (couple of hundred quid!) I'd echo what the other guys have said... if it's overheating, the head gasket ain't gonna be too happy... :| The only place the water SHOULD ever escape from if it's overheating is the expansion tank (it's got the pressure relief valve in the cap) so if there's snail-trial signs of leaks elsewhere, run away! ;)
  13. if the fuel filter is clogged up then it WILL cause running problems similar to those you describe... You may also want to take off the distributor cap and rotor arm and check that there's no oil inside the metal body of the distributor. If there is, then you'll need a new one.
  14. GIXXERUK, I've got two, so that knackers your count up right at the start! ;)
  15. I'll give my supplier a bell tomorrow morning and see if he can get a replacement face (it'd be cheaper than getting it repaired if he can get one... ;) )
  16. erm, I've always just used a wire to test that the fan works on both speeds by shorting across the pins on the fan switch connector, and when I'm happy that the fan (and wiring ;) ) is OK, then I run the car up to temp and watch as the fan comes on and then kicks into the second temp... A normal C (which has the standard UK spec fan switch) should kick the first stage fan in at 95 and the second at 102 degrees (it'll switch back down to stage one at 91, and then switch off completely at 84)
  17. quantum silver's the best for Corrados... ;) You may want to check that the fan is getting 14V when the engine's running... I found that the fan on J-DUB was only getting around 9V due to cruddy wiring, so I made up a wiring loom (like Gav's headlight ones) to give 14V at the fan and that dropped the temps by a couple of degrees! Also check that the fan works on BOTH speeds as the thermoswitch is known to loose it's first setting meaning that your water temps stay over 94 degrees constantly... ;)

    VW Shows

The CCGB AGM will have a shed load of corrados there... ;) The Milton Keynes meeting looks like it'll have over 15 different Corrados there on the 20th March... Where are you based, Bridget?
  19. GolfNutz in Northwich has about 10 rear hatches on a shelf in their storeroom... points to quite a few broken there then... :| If there's more than 2000 G60s left on the roads I'd be VERY suprised... :(
  20. you sure that was a cat you hit?!? That's a pretty big dent... :|
  21. oops! Which garage was that at? (Just so I can avoid it! ;) )
  22. Let out a nice dark (possibly purple?) J plate G60 with crystal rear lights in Alderly Edge at 9am this morning... Looked VERY nice... 8) Followed to the Handforth-Dean bypass roundabout where you turned right and I went straight on... Anyone here? I've not seen this car about before and it'd be nice to know someone local! 8)
  23. khurrado, the ABS cage is only on the rear wheels, so it's a different problem you have, 'cos you bent the front suspension on yours IIRC...

    Mirrors

The rear heated screen switch also turns on the heated mirrors and heated washerjet nozzles... They all share the same fuse. 8)
  25. spray WD40 behind the mirror glass and leave it to soak for a little while, then try it again... The clicking means that it has power and that the switch is working OK, it's just either jammed or the motors are dead (less likely)
