the most important thing to do is make sure that the area you are working in is clean, dry and warm... if it isn't, then you are unlikely to build a good engine... :| Get yourself a Haynes for either a 88-92 passat or an Audi (I think it's 100) which uses the 6A engine as that will have all of the tollerances and torques in it... 8)

nope, only FK do the smoked/red ones... 8)

there's a fuse which will do the clocks, although I don't know which it is... ALL electrical systems in the car have fuses... ;) 8)

...and mine was running a tooth out on the cam at the RR session, Santa Pod and Curborough...
-
Only 'cos I was a tooth out on the cam...
-
pull the dash fuse out... ;) Much easier and less likely to screw things up... 8)

Valver, there's about 8mm clearance under the passenger seat when it's on it's lower setting... :|

not as much expense as finding out that your tyre pressures are wrong, or that your tracking is out when exiting a corner and finding yourself facing the way you just came from... :|
-
check your tyre pressures, then get your rear axle bushes checked out to make sure they're not dead, and if they're OK, get your tracking checked... This is a classic sign of one of these not being right... :|

it's the blue plug in the red ring... ;)

the glass will be the same size and shape, but may have a slightly different tint on it... I'm about 80% sure that all corrados have the same tint on the glass though... 8)

with a timing strobe... ;)

you may find that you need a new expansion tank too... DON'T buy the ones from Euro or GSF as they are shockingly bad quality... :|

1) Borbet C 2) Borbet T 3) RH ZW1 4) BBS RS 301 5) Stil Auto Sigma / Azev A

That depends on what cat rating they give the car... If it's a Cat C, you should be able to buy it back. If it's a CAT B (or A IIRC) you need to be a registered salvage yard to buy it back as it's not suitable for putting back on the road again... :(

well, my G60 was pretty much finished apart from needing paint before my recent accident, so I'm not sure where I stand on this one now... :| I'd got the engine to a stage where it was producing more than enough power, the gearbox how I wanted it, the interior spot on, but now it looks like I may well be starting all over again... At least this time, I've got all the bits sat there waiting for me to just bolt 'em into the new car so I should be able to build the new car upto the same spec as J-DUB in a very short period of time... 8) Then I've just got to work out how to do the new project on J-DUB!  8)

yup, I'll also be doing a swap from J-DUB over to my new Corrado (when I get one!) so I'll weigh 'em then... 8)

done... 8)

only John (16VG60) and Alex (Aposegil) have 16VG60s on here that I know of... John's engine's been around for a while now (although it's still LUUURRRVVVEEELLLLYYY... ;) ) and I'm not sure if Alex's is fully working yet, although it'll be a real monster when he gets it all sorted out properly... 8) *EDIT* D'oh! I forgot about G60 JAY`S 16v G60... looks mint... 8)
-
that latter quote looks about right if it includes labour... 8) GSF say that: front engine mount = £23.50 rear engine mount = £49.50 gearbox mount: = £23.50

yup, MKII golf or Passat (88-92) will sort you out for the P/S pump instructions... 8)
-
yup, but it'll probably run exactly as it is doing now... (it's already running on the limp home setting... ;) )
