I've got a standard VR6 clutch in my G60 with over 200Lb/FT and 240ish BHP and it's fine... 8) It's a Sachs clutch from Eurocarparts... 8)

Well, some of you saw my reaction to the p!ssed up idiots at the campsite at the Inters BBQ when they got close enough to my car to set the alarm off... ;) Just glad they didn't cause any damage so I didn't have to cause any back... I'm just soooo glad that I've got a Garage for my cars with its slightly excessive alarm system on it... ;) -

Looks similar to a SEAT or BMW dash from that angle... -
Delcos are excellent, so are VARTA if you can get one...
-
the 6 speed box is HUGE as well as being HEAVY... :| I considered one in my C before I got my G60 one modded...
-
Cool, glad you got it sorted... 8)

yes, the corrado has the same (crap) rear brakes as a MKII golf GTI.
-
that's what I said too,Supercharged, but it's a new one according to Ant... ;) 8)

yup, got the max cover thing on DD too Kev, I forget I've got it until either: a) the car decides to throw another hissy-fit... b) the car freezes over and I realise I should have bought an ice scraper instead of using my AA card
-
nitrous was always in the master plan anyway... ;)
-
erm, it would be more like shedding 60BHP if I just stuck a VR6 in there... Anyway, I want to stay true to the car being a G60, so as I said, the car WILL essentially stay as a G60 engine, just taken to a bit of another level... ;) 8)

AA relay... never had a problem with them and used 'em more times than I care to think about...
-
what do people do about spares with aftermarket alloys?
Henny replied to chrishill's topic in General Car Chat
I bought another set of 3 wheels so I could have some spares!  I don't actually have a spare in the car, I just do the same as cheesy and carry a can of tyre weld and my AA card... 8) -
nope...
-
did the gearbox on my golf driver this saturday, so I can sympathise with the bruises cuts and scrapes... and I had a mechanic helping me too!
-
new plans are secret at the moment... I'll let the cat out of the bag if the damage turns out to be enough to warant the expense of the new plan... ;) She'll stay as a G60 though... 8)

Yup dinkus, different sizes, but essentially the same process... 8) Good call... :)

I think it was caused when the head gasket went and dumped the water into the oil... probably starved one of the shells of oil for a little while which caused it to nip up and damage the shell... it's just been getting worse since and the Bruntingthorpe 140mph, 0-60 and 1/4mile thrashes the day before she started making noises probably just about finished her off... :| Of course, it could be that I've just been unlucky and had a simple single component failure... these things do happen from time to time, especially when you consider just how much I did change during the rebuild... Ah well, these things happen... as you say, time to upgrade it again if it's beyond easy repair... ;) 8)

"pros"? "kwikfit"? HAHAHAHAhahahahaHAHAhahaHAHAhaha........ *breathes* *picks self off floor* Get hold of a MKII golf Haynes manual and follow the instructions in there... They're identical to yours and are pretty easy to do... just make sure you've got a decent set of sockets and spanners and you should be fine... 8)

it's designed to move, hence the coil of pipe in it... if it's not leaking, leave it alone... I don't think it's really worth upgrading the pipe to braided as there's sod all pressure in the pipe compared with a brake pipe... 8) Dunno about getting the slave out without the cables... I built mine up with the engine in my garage so didn't have the cables anywhere near it! ;)
