if you go down the spacer route (which isn't a bad idea) make sure you get longer bolts too just to stay safe! ;)
-
randal_24, just do what I do.... don't let anyone else in your car! ;) :D  Sometimes I wonder why I bothered putting the leather rears in the car as they're never gonna get sat on!
-
Harry? you should be able to get a second hand warm up regulator easily enough 'cos it's the same on the 1.8 16V Golfs and other KR engined VWs... 8)
-
it's only GEARED to do that speed though... :? Looks like a mental bit of kt though... 8)
-
I'm with you on that one Phat... Was gonna carb my 16V MKI but realised that they were just WAY too much hassle... :?
-
PMSL @ nearly a land rover! 8) it's quicker to take the front bumper off and it doesn't mess up your ride either :D (4 bolts and 5 wiring plugs ;) ) I'll be bringing my socket set and a trolley jack as well if I can get the car ready by Sunday just in case I have a mad half hour and stick her on the rollers if there's a space free... ;) 8)

your best bet is to give Vince a call down at stealth and ask him.... ;)  I'll bet that he knows exactly what clearance is needed for his rollers... ;)

Hello and welcome to the Forum.... 8) You can run the car on normal unleaded, but you'll probably notice a slight drop in performance... :| I tend to only run mine on Optimax these days, as I noticed a distinct improvement in both performance and fuel economy when I first got my G60 and swapped it from normal unleaded to Optimax... 8) What was your old car? Post up some pics of your G60.... 8) Enjoy! 8)

Genuine VAG are a good price (suprisingly) and are (obviously) good quality... 8)
-
Dunno about the other versions, but on a G60 there is a thermo switch above the inlet manifold which controls the fan run on. If the inlet/exhaust manifold temps are high (due to the weather and having been sat in traffic etc) then this sensor can keep cutting the fan in and out to make sure you don't overheat the petrol in the lines and not be able to start it again... This is all normal and shouldn't be considered as a fault unless it is doing it more than about 30 minutes after being turned off... 8)

check that the fuses are all OK and that the relay is seated properly... 8)

yeah, I got one for ya... ;) it bugs the hell outta me that in the later models, they put in a big fuel tank so they also fitted a space saver... and it STILL hasn't got a flat boot floor... :?
-
Possible? yes... lots of work to get it to be any good? you betcha! :? The PG (G60) engine block is one of the best out of all the VW blocks as it has uprated oil and water ways and has the piston crown oil squirters to keep the piston tops cool... (the 1H (rallye) is better still due to uprated headbolts and mounting bolts) Any other engine block is not going to be as good for oil flow and cooling as the specific G60 blocks. However, some tuners (TSR for example) do what is basically the 2.0 Van engine as a conversion which some people I've spoken to really like... If you have a look in my member's gallery (click on J-DUB in my sig below) there's a big discussion which may help you understand things a little better... ;) :D Hope this helps, and good luck! :D

that looks great... 8) sits just right... :D

big question.... why is it a scrap yard?!? :?
-
I had to remove my bumper at the rollers in Runcorn when I got the car mapped... and it's only lowered 35mm with an RS style bumper on it... :? Think I may be putting the original bumper back on and running spoiler-less... ;)

I've not heard of a Passat roof failing, and the mechanism is slightly different inside... 8) To be honest, the roof I got was cheaper than farting around fixing one of the 2 that I already had and getting them sanded and re-painted, so I don't really care how long it lasts... ;) but from what I can see, I think that they should last a fair bit longer than the original steel roof... 8) Oh, and I'd also put it way up top on my list of favourite mods I've done now that the car is finished... It makes SUCH a difference to the interior it's untrue! :D 8)
-
humm, Having both rears stop working around the same time due to mechanical faults is DAMNED unlikely... :? Did you have new disks fitted at the back as well as the bearings? If you did, I'll put money on it that the muppets who fitted them didn't put the cages off the old disk onto the new ones which is why you have BOTH rear sensors not working with a mechanical fault... :? You may well find that when this is sorted the valve fault "magically" disappears and that it's only throwing that code up due to both rear rotors being missing... ;)
-
yeah, that's not good... :? I got my plastic reiger one in under a week from when I ordered it from Venom... 8) (which may be up for sale shortly due to a change of direction style wise... ;) )

the whole thing is one part... It needs to be out of a 93 to 96 passat which should be the only one that have a moon roof. (earlier ones were steel) Visually it's identical to the Corrado's mechanism except for the fact it's glass and the interior cover is different... 8) Can't help with part numbers though, my car's off the road (again! ) so I can't look at it at the moment... and even then, the part numbers are stamped into the frame work/mechanism so are hidden by the roof lining... :? Oh, and I've heard a rumour that the ones out of the estate versions of the Passat are slightly flatter and so fit the Corrado better, although I've not been able to confirm this yet... :|
-
you loonie! :D 8) Guess you got the running problems sorted properly then! ;) 8)
-
...fairy liquid however WILL harm your paint work due to all the salt in it... :?
-
yup, you're correct Kongo... 8) for the purposes of fault finding, you should be able to swap the black and blue connectors over and see if the gauge still works and if the engine's running improves... 8)
-
yup, that's the bunny... 8) Remove the old small intercooler and fit a Golf G60 one complete with all the Golf's pipe work... 8) needs a slight modification to the new intercooler which involves cutting some of the mounting bracket off it so that it'll allow the headlamps to fit back in, but other than that, it's a fit and forget modification... 8) You're probably in a better position to buy one that us Kongo, as you use Euros anyway and have already got the hang of Ebay for buying stuff from Germany... 8) You'll also notice the difference a lot more than we will 'cos you have nice warm weather over there which will make the bigger intercooler essential! ;) :D

I can type, I just am having problems sitting down.... :? (standing up became a problem a while back! ;) ) You may wish to check THIS out for values though... ;) :D
