  1. Eh? :? OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer BOTH hook and bar style hangers were OEM, it just depended on how old your car was... And they are reasonably easy to swap over IIRC... ;) :D
  2. the one on the back of the radio is for the speed sensitive volume control! DO NOT use that wire for anything else your spoiler will stop working! :? Dunno where the one in the engine bay goes to though...
  3. YAY! I was right, so I win my bet... I'll go and buy myself the pint I won from myself now then.... ;) (yes, it was a poor excuse for going out for a pint, but, hey, who cares! )

    VR fuel lines

yeah, had the same on my MKII GTI 8V and on my current Corrado G60... The ends of the pipes split quite often and then gradually tear underneith the hose clamp which allows some fuel to leak until it gets to a point where it springs a proper leak and throws quite a lot of petrol out... :? Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do, you just need to keep an eye out and if you can smell petrol, you need to investigate it ASAP! ;) :| Hope you get yours fixed soon... 8)

    Brakes

DOT5.1 is fully compatable with any of the other DOT brake fluids... I tend to make sure that I bleed about 200ml out of each brake pipe which should be enough to bleed the whole system through and ensure that you have nice clean DOT5.1 in the whole system... Don't forget to do the clutch one slave too! ;) 8) You'll only get the full benefit of changing to DOT5.1 if you do get rid of all of the old stuff first...
  6. Could well be a dodgy earth cable onto the battery... that'd cause the relays to go mental as they'd loose a decent earth and would not know what the hell to do... check the strap as it goes from the clamp, down the back of the battery onto the chassis and then continues onto the gearbox top front bolt.

    Brakes

first thing on the list when you've decided on which caliper and disks you want is to dump the brake fluid and stick some DOT5.1 in as it'll mainly be this which is causing the soggy feel... ;) A decent set of G60 calipers and carriers with some good make pads and good make disks will make a serious improvement over the standard 16V's brakes.... 8) The Brembos are a great modification, but are an arse to get wheels which fit over 'em.... :|
  8. yup... none of my last 4 cars have had the screws in as they always strip the heads when you try to take 'em out in my experience.... :?
  9. Children, Children!!! Behave! :offtopic: This is a thread about REAL sport... the Le Mans 24 hour race. Now that's real sport, Challenging, exciting and more skill than you could shake a stick at... none of this poncy kicking a ball about for 90 minutes crud...
  10. I'd go with ignition switch failure on this one... :| See HERE for replacement info.... 8)
  11. yup, fill 'er up till she drops some back on your head... :? Make sure that the car is on level ground before doing it though! ;) As Supercharged says, book lists 2 litres, but you'll not get more than 1.5l back in after draining it 'cos there'll still be oil in there that's not fully drained out... 8)

    Ventura springs ?

I'm pretty sure that my Corrado was on Ventura springs with Bilstein dampers when I got it... The ride was nasty.... crashy, under damped, bouncy and generally harsh... that's why I went for the Supersport kit which is much better, but is still quite hard... I'll check tonight (I've still got the old springs and shocks in their box at my parents) and post back up if they were the Ventura ones... 8)
  13. new bolts? get 'em from Midland wheel supplies (click here) 8)

    timing

    1.8 16V don't have a lambda sensor (or cat)
  15. 'cos the MKIV has a different design handbrake cam which shouldn't seize up like the MKII and III ones do... 8)
  16. to be fair, both TVR and Morgan ARE English... ;) :-P

    uneven tyre wear

sounds like your tracking or camber is a mile out... make sure that you get a full allignment done which includes cambers... most QuackSh!t places don't do the camber so make sure you ask specifically for it to be done.... :|
  18. With the car being in EXACTLY the same place, position and lighting in each pic, I'd place LARGE amounts of cash on these being potato-chops of the car in the first pic... ;) 8) Nicely done shops though... 8)
  19. wow! that's a fair difference... 8) Wanna do mine? ;)
  20. stevemac, think Tom meant it'd been costly if you'd missed the R out... ;)
  21. I have no idea why, but I really like the seat version... 8) Just nicely different without being too "in your face"... :)

    Ka's Corrado
