  1. you can adapt 5 door VW seats to have the lever to release the backs, but it's a lot of hassle for the sake of just buying some 3 door seats! ;)
  2. yeah, that's how I've always seen rolling roads... who gives a damn what you got on XYZ's road, when in a group session you were 20BHP lower down than everything else and had just enough torque to pull the skin off a rice pudding! ;) I want to see a nice torque curve for my engine, that's nice and flat thru the whole rev range and had a nice BIG number to go with it! ;)
  3. the Passat seats won't have the tilt knob on the side of them so you won't be able to let people into the back of the car... not a problem with a 5 door Golf, but a pain in the arse with a 3 door! ;)
  4. passat seats are for 5 door though, so they won't go into a 3 door golf... you're sorted if it's a 5 door though... 8)
  5. Depends how hard I hit the rolling road operator with it! ;) 8)
  6. Rodders? wouldn't it be in that location no matter which side the steering wheel was? :?
  7. all of the Corrados after the early mechanical milage counter ones didn't have a speedo cable and were electric instead... 8) Yeah, the pillow is ace, best investment ever... ;)

    Sunroof motor

have a good look at the electrical connection on any that you get hold of before parting with any cash though, else you could end up having to re-wire the plug on the car to fit if it's different... ;)
  9. oooh, it's the same as a VR6's then... :| I remember reading somewhere on here that it's the pink/purple wire from the ECU that gives the clocks the fuel figure on a VR6, although how the ECU knows is beyond me as I've never worked on one yet... :?

    Sunroof motor

I'm fairly sure that if yours is a later Corrado then the motor is the same as the Passat's with the moon roof, and as MKIII golf roofs as these are basically the same mechanism... (these are the ones you can use for the moon roof conversion! ;) )
  11. I was under the impression that the 1.8 16Vs only had a single fuel pump that was just in front of the driver's rear wheel arch? If that's true, then it'd be SOOOO easy for you to sling a BIG facet pump in which are quite capable of flooding your engine on full throttle if you so desired! ;) 8)
  12. yup, sounds normal to me too... 8)

    rs bumper

I've not forgotten this, but it's NASTY outside and I ain't getting any more wet taking a bumper off tonight... sorry... I'll definately do it at the weekend though, so you'll have photos then... 8)
  14. Mine did... Richard made sure it had them in the box, and it was printed on the side that it included them... :?
  15. :cuckoo: :silly:   It'd be nice if it did happen, but I REALLY don't think that they will do... I've wanted to use the cuckoo icon for AGES...
  16. the supersport kit should come with a C spanner for adjusting the heights... other than that, I think Andy's got it covered with that little lot! 8)
  17. sounds very much like a faulty control box (or wiring to the box) to me in that case... :?

    Bigger IC

yup, everything apart from the angle grinder... ;) 8) (you could just use a saw, but I had a grinder to hand at the time! ;) )
  19. my local merc garage has a tub (HUGE one at that!) of "Brut for Men" talc for exactly this reason... apparently they found it was the best at stopping the squeek?!? :?

    Bigger IC

If you can get hold of one, the Golf G60 (not Rallye!) intercooler just fits straight in using all of the Golf's pipework... It's HUGE and needs only a couple of bits of the metal brakets on the front of it cutting off to allow it to fit properly behind the headlights... 8) There's a few pics in my gallery of it before I fitted it... 8) You'll need the 180degree outlet, seal and support bar, the rubber pipe from there to the intercooler, the rubber pipe from the intercooler to the plastic pipe, the plastic pipe which has the mount for the CO pot, and the rubber pipe which attaches onto the throttle body... 8) I got mine from Darren for £500 which had been pressure tested so I knew it was OK... The Rallye one is the same size IIRC, but the inlet and outlet pipes on the intercooler are different bore sizes from the Corrado / golf ones, so you'll probably need an adaptor pipe making up to be able to use it... Although you may be able to just use the original rallye pipework if you can get hold of it all, I'm not sure as I've never tried that... :| Hope this helps...
  21. I'll get ya the part numbers tonight when I get home... they're on an invoice in my pile of bits so I know they're the correct bits! ;) 8)
  22. Randal? get hold of a Golf or Passat haynes with the KR 16V engine in it... it's exactly the same as the Corrado's one even down to the wiring colours in the engine bay.... 8) Jim, the 2 flanges can be swapped in a few minutes each... the one on the side of the head is a little fiddly to do due to the metal water pipe being in the way, but it's not a difficult job to do, and if you're having a coolant flush, it's the perfect time to do it too! IIRC the 2 flanges come to less than £20 inc O rings, and I'd be VERY tempted to put in new blue and black sensors while you have it all apart too so that you know that they're not gonna go faulty in the near future... 8) If one flange is leaking, then the odds are that the other will start leaking as soon as you replace the first one as the O-ring will be in the same sort of condition as the one that's leaking and won't take the extra pressure.... Do 'em both now, and have done with it for another few years... 8) Your squeek is most likely to be either the belt, or one of the tensioners... Get stealth to have a look at the state of the Cambelt tensioner as this is the one that will make lots of damage if it gives up and breaks the belt! It's dead easy to have a look at, and you can normally tell if it's dead or not just from looking and prodding at it! ;) I reckon that it's probably just the belt squeeking as Gav says though... 8)

    ABS Light?

Wheel bearings could well cause this, although an unbalanced wheel couldn't unless the bearings were also shot as the ABS ring is attached to the hub on the fronts and the back of the disk on the rears and should be steady if the bearing is OK... 8) Good point about the bearings though, that's one I'd never even considered in the past... 8)
