  1. speed sensor wire adjusts the volume on some stereos so that it gets louder as you get faster, and quietens back down as you slow again... :) Kinda cool, but not many stereos support it and too many fitters connect it to the wrong thing which stops the spoiler working!

    ITSs ALIVE!!!

Nice one Matey! 8) Good to hear she barked into life at last... :D
  3. welcome to the forum.... 8) It'd help us loads if you told us where you are so we can point you in the direction of a "local" place!  8) Most people here send their chargers off to G-werks (that's where mine went for a rebuild!) as Darren (G-man) is VERY good and will sort it out properly... 8)
  4. blue/white = Speed sensor feed brown/red = Ignition live black = +12v to aerial amplifier (switched feed from head unit) grey/blue = illumination feed (to turn on head unit illumination when the lights are switched on) red/white = permanent live brown = earth speaker wiring as per this diagram http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/download.php?id=5584
  5. I put a post up here a little while ago with all of the wiring colours for a Corrado stereo... hang on a mo and I'll find it and link to it.. 8)
  6. Welcome to the Forum... 8) Wish I'd have been able to afford a Corrado at 18... although that was when they were new... :?  Got my first one at 22... 8)
  7. K&N panel = cash saving + slightly better throttle response... :) (cash saving 'cos you don't need to keep replacing paper ones all the time! ;) ) Go for it... I've done EVERY car I've ever owned... 8)

    G60 Timing

yup, exactly that... The dots should be on the side of the cam sprocket away from the head and should straddle that joint at the front of the head... 8) I noticed the single dot on mine too, and have no idea what it's for... :?
  9. Hear hear Jim... 8)

    G60 Timing

    1) yes 2) yes (there's also 2 dots on the outside of the pulley which should line up either side of the front join between the cam cover and the head) Hope this helps... 8)
  11. late spec exterior started in '92 so a H plate shouldn't have the later bonnet, wings or bumpers... :?
  12. 206bhp?!? *Yawn*... boring... ;) (sorry Jim, couldn't resist it! ;) ) I reckon my G60 would give a Gti-6 a good run for it's money at the moment, and I'm still bedding it in! ;) Just wait until she's been set up properly and I'll have all of her horses to play with! :D Oh, and compared with a few of the other G60's that are being done at the moment (cross flow head conversions and the like), mine's tame with an estimated 250BHP... :? 8) Some of theirs will leave mine looking slow... :?
  13. Porsche stopped using Magnatec a few years ago as they found that their cars were suffering from low oil pressure when using it... Dunno what they use now though, but they don't get the same low oil pressure problems! ;) I used to use Magnatec in my MKI 16V until once when the shop had run out, I tried a standard 10W40 semi and the engine ran soooooo much better I've stuck with either that or Synta Silver ever since... 8)
  14. I've had one for about 18 months now and they're excellent... :)

    air fuel ratio

attach it to a -ve wire in the car... they're normally brown with no other colours on 'em in a Corrado... you could also attach it to the bodywork somewhere as that will be connected to the battery's -ve contact too... :)
  16. humm, I don't think that there's actually a lot of corrado in that... :? The engine's definately not VW (looks like a cosworth) and is fitted the other way around so it's probably RWD too! Bet it's pretty rapid though! ;)
  17. locked... I moved the original thread to general before this one appeared... PM warning sent to dexter too...
  18. two of which I've now deleted... ;)  Oh, and I've also moved this one to General... ;) *edit* I've also locked the other version of this thread in General and deleted the other 6 copies....

wire in the +ve to an ignition live, the -ve to a good earth, and the signal wire to the purple wire from the lambda sensor. The purple wire is at the back of the engine on the left hand side as you look from the front of the car... I found a picture on http://sam.bytebandits.com/radotutorial/ that may be of some use... 8)
  20. now that I can appreciate... 8) subtle, clean and not messed with... Full marks for display too... It even comes with a skinhead trying to nick it for that period early 1980's joy-rider feel! ;)
  21. snap.... but I've been drinking quite heavily tonight, so I thought I'd hedge my bets! ;)
  22. should do, they're probably 5x100 unless they're audi bred in which case they may be 5x108 or 5x112.... :? anyone know for sure?
  23. Ooooooohhhhhh, Deeeeaaarrrr God... :? Will they ever learn, IT'S A FIESTA?!? :pukeright: Liking the Pirelli stickers with BF Goodridge tyres on the Escort... Classy...
  24. check that you have ALL of the speakers wired the same way ( + to +, - to - ) else you'll get some odd phasing effects which could make it sound as you describe... :?
  25. Wish I'd have known that when I had my MKII golf... Shame you can't do the same on a MKI... :?
