  1. There are only 2 standard pink colours that I know of... Cadilac used to do a pink colour, but I have no idea what it's called, and Honda used to do a Moped which was Pink which our local parts guy used to swear blind was called "nipple pink" and I know you can get touch ups for... :?
  2. You've got a number plate light out... ;) Nice looking car you've got there though... 8) I'm a sucker for Red 'rado's ever since my first one... 8)
  3. and another, best Rado colour IMO  And from yet another aqua corrado owner... ;) Nice car mate... 8)

    spare wheel

    yup... 1992 G60 with space saver, although my 1991 (H) 1.8 16V had a full size sebring alloy as a spare... :?

    electric gremlins!!

Change the earth strap that is the main earth from the battery... It is the clamp on the battery which then runs to the chassis under the battery tray and then on to the gearbox/engine... This gets oxidised with age (goes green) and stops the whole electrical system on the car getting a proper earth causing all sorts of gremlins like this... :? It's about £25 from VAG and need a 13mm and a 10mm spanner to fit it... 8)

    FIRE!!!!

Which pipe? There's 2 oil pipes that run from the charger... One runs from the side of the head to the charger (oil feed) the other runs from the charger to the bottom of the block (by the bottom of the dip-stick tube) which is the oil return... If the oil feed pipe splits, there will be oil ALL over the top end of the engine, and lots around the head gasket area... if the return bursts, you'll be in a similar situation, but most of the oil will be at the bottom of the block... :? The only way you're gonna find out if there's any other problems without a stripdown, is by cleaning the whole underside of the car and engine off, replacing the burst pipe (and oil!) and running her to find out if everything's OK... :| Good luck... 8)
  7. Yup, the cat bypass would allow you to fit a G60 system onto your 16V... The custom down pipe is an upgrade which would mean a better flow rate through the system and that you'd have a FULL stainless system from the manifold back... 8) Much reccomended... 8) Have a word with John and see what he reccomends, he'll know and talk you through your options... 8)
  8. Huh? You want a sleeper look with a tubular manifold and a supercharger on a VR6?!? I take it you mean sleeper look from the outside of the car then? ;) Why not fit the Golf G60 intercooler? It fits onto existing mouting points in front of the radiator on BOTH Golf G60 and Corrado G60's and therefore Corrado VR6's and doesn't get in the way of any of the original panelwork so there's no way you can see it from enywhere other than inside the engine bay... :? It's full width so will give sooo much better intercooling than an air/water cooler and is genuine VAG, so you know the quality will be spot on... They tend to go for around £500 with all of the G60 pipework on Ebay, or through Darren 8) (G-man - if he can find another one... ;) )
  9. If you want it to sit in front of the rad, surely you want a rad that's not as high as the normal rad, but is longer so you can get the pipes in around the existing rad? :?

    FIRE!!!!

Sounds like you have been very lucky... Engine fires in that area of the bay often get out of hand VERY quickly as this is where the main fuel lines for the engine all are... :? As VR6Storm says, it's not uncommon for G60s to leak fuel from the main fuel line which connects onto the fuel rail where you describe the fire as starting from... Unfotunately this is also where the hottest part of the engine lives too (exhaust manifold) so leaks here can get pretty dangerous.... :| Take a few photos when you get the car back to your place and we'll see what kinda damage has been done... You may have been very lucky and not have damaged too much if you managed to get the fire out PDQ... 8) Glad you are OK though, and that it sounds like you caught the problem before too much damage was done... I'll bet you're gonna buy a fire extinguisher before you next take the car on a run out though! ;) It's one thing I've always carried in my cars since I saw a golf burn out on the M56 a few years ago... :?
  11. I'm pretty sure that most people just fit the G60 system complete with Cat Bypass pipe which then allows it to mate to the standard down pipe on the 1.8 16V.... 8) Have a word with John Mitchell (16VG60), He's a Milltek dealer and knows his stuff when it comes to their systems... 8)
  12. that's one of the worst photoshops I've ever seen where the rear R36 badge is on the tailgate! Rest of the car looks OK though for the new Golf... 8)
  13. I hate the lack of respect for other people's property that people in this country have... I'd have gone fecking mental if that was my Corrado... Comisserations mate, I hope you can get it sorted with no problems... 8)
  14. That's exactly how I wrote my first Corrado off... except there was no petrol station but a field instead...  Check tyre pressures, rear wheel bearings and rear axle bushes... Glad to hear you avoided bending yours though... 8)

    Hello everybody.

It'd definately help... 8) Then again, so would NOS! ;) Just get hold of a bigger front mount intercooler, and you'll be laughing... ;) 8)
  16. Ahem, and Kev just before too...
  17. Why? When you lower your car, the brake bias valve thinks that the car has a lot of weight in the back, so it allows more brake pressure to the rear brakes... This can make the rear end skittish, and if your ABS isn't working, it can make the rear end lock up way too easily... If you adjust the valve once you've lowered your car, it then knows that it's supposed to be that low and isn't loaded up, so it'll allow the correct amount of braking force to the rear calipers... 8) IIRC, it's only 1 bolt that you need to undo to adjust the compensator... 8)
  18. Just received a 3.5 FPR from Ant (Banana man) Top notch service... 8)
  19. Yup, or it'll be re-issued when someone swaps a private plate to their new car for use on their old car... :?

    Hello everybody.

Hiya! Welcome to the forum! 8) The Corrado G60 is affected by the outside temperature due to the standard intercooler being so small that it easily gets heat-soaked and stops working properly... Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to prevent this (or cure it) except for installing a new, bigger intercooler. :| The cold air intake is a very good idea. There's a carbon cannister that sits under the airbox in rather a nice hole through the chassis leg. If you use the search and look for "carbon AND removal" you'll find some good threads on how to do this... The hole that's left once this is removed is ideal for use as a direct cold air feed into the air box... 8) Corrado VR6's are 12valve.... 8) Hope this helps... :)

    I WANT FLAMES.!!

Not on scooby yes on g60...... his car will be designed to do that.....its anti lag feuling.....thats what makes rally cars splutter so much the ecu dumps fuel in on the exhaust stroke and ignites it...so that rather than the expanding air forcing the piston down.....it forces the turbo round so it stays on good boost.....super charged cars dont need this obviously! Ah, that makes sense... I never knew that about Turbo'd cars... quite a clever trick really... 8)

    I WANT FLAMES.!!

Flames? but that means you're not running with an optimised fuel map so are down on power! ;) Flames = rich running /rich on over-run... Sod that... I'd rather know that my car is set up properly and won't run lean or flame and know that both my engine and exhaust/bumper will survive a decent thrashing then to have a momentary fireworks display that I'm never likely to see anyway... Get a rolling road setup with a custom map, and enjoy the fact that you're safely squeezing all the horses outta your engine... 8)

    too much pressure

Hummm, I've heard that somewhere before...
  24. What RAC tool is that then mate? - I hate a look around the site but couldn't find anything http://www.rac.co.uk/myrac/vehicle_data_check/ 8)

    too much pressure

dead thermostat... :| Time to fit a new one... 8) The good news is that they're cheap and pretty easy to do on the 1.8 16Vs... :) If I were you, I'd also buy the plastic thermostat housing and replace that too, as the odds are the old one will be brittle and break when you try to put it back on! ;) Again, cheap enough not to have an excuse not to do it! ;) Oh, and Dizzys are £68 from Euro with a £50 surcharge on your old unit... 8)
