Oh lordy....Matt's caught the "Haywire Friday nutter" disease..... I have to now denounce my thrown and hand it over to you Matt....the King of peurile Friday afternoon nonsense  Oh God... here we go again...
-
I'm gonna lock this thread up as there is an existing one HERE which is identical... 8)

VR6 1st gear is the same ratio as G60 1st gear... although the final drives are slightly different.... :? It's nice to hear that from someone I've never spoken to before... That's exactly what my car will have when I bolt it back together this weekend... 8)
-
have you put the anti-rattle springs back in properly? (I'm not taking the p!$$ here, it's a straight question!) If you've not quite got 'em hooked over the caliper's lugs properly they'll rattle lots at slow speeds, at higher speeds they'll just squeek slightly... :?
-
You're "special", Henny... ;) My Mummy and my Bank manager tell me that regularly... :silly:
-
Actually, it's not all that fiddly either, you can cheat and get away with removing hardly any of the interior if you're sneaky.... 8) I had a damned good look at the moonroof mechanism before I fitted it to my Corrado.... This is the 3rd roof I've fitted to it in the 18 months I've owned it (7 of which it's been off the road!) so I wanted this one to last a bit longer!
-
The passat moon roof doesn't have those stupid little arms which snap off to lift the inner lining as the lining just slides back when you tilt the roof... Also, the route that the cable runs is different to the Corrado unit, so there appears to be less contact on it and so the cable should last A LOT longer... 8) Basically, it's a better designed roof which is based around the Corrado roof mechanism and so is a straight swap... 8)

Yup exactly the same idea, only the weber is about double the area on the butterfly! The audi 80 body is almost identical to the 16V one anyway... That's the mod for the 8V GTIs... 8)
-
Unfortunately so... :? The only ways to make sure that it doesn't happen is to either buy a (very rare!) non-sunroof model, or fit a Passat Moonroof conversion... :| I suppose never using it would also prevent it from breaking too!

Looks like fun... 8) I miss the 12" angle grinder from when I worked in a garage... I used to be the one to "dispose of" all of the scrap Beetles that we go hold of... ;) 8) I could almost completely fit a Beetle shell into a standard green top workshop wheely bin! :D
-
nobody.... The car's been corner weighted with just me in it... anyone else just mucks up the balance and their screams are too much to put up with! ;) 8)

Wales in the ocean?? that'd mean lots of people drowning then....  *cough* Whales *cough*

That's like asking for Hen's teeth or Rocking Horse S#!t... you may pick some up on Ebay, but they're unlikely to be cheap.... (a set has gone for £140 in the past! ) There's talk of CCGB getting some made up at some point, but if this pulls off or not is a different matter... :?

mk1 valver on 45's ,,,erm little update with sound clip

That sounds very familiar... Add in a hall of residence car park, and having to put the gearbox into the bike sheds and chain it down a couple of times (when I melted the clutch) to stop it going walkies, and you're about there... ;) This time will be different... ;) 8) -
I thinkg I'm gonna try and JB weld mine back together... Dunno if it'll work or not, but it's gotta be worth a shot.... 8)

Fair enough then... 8) My MKI is probably also going to end up as a weekend and "oops, I broke the Corrado again" car...   XR3I?!? No wonder you want rid of it for another VW... ;) Ieeeee... not good for the MKII (you just got that edit in before I posted this! ;) ) Did you catch the sods that did that? Hope you find the G60 you want... 8) -

Won't it get full of water mounted like that though? Be more of an Air Gargle than an air horn! Lovely looking MKI though... I really need to get mine back into one piece... that's my summer gone then... 8) -
Oooh, I've got an email from myself! ;) Reet then... Fotos... 8) (Read the text above the photos!)

But can they play a good tune or hit a decent Harmony?!?  Sorry, I'll get my coat...

Mucking Fental! How BIG is that spoiler!?!

I have a list of the gearbox codes that you need the cogs out of to convert the G60 box to the correct ratios... It's at home though, I'll post it up later... It does include ANY VR6 engine'd box though, but not the later 24V or 4motion ones though... 8)

Welcome to the wonderful world of Corrado Ownership... 8) Paracetamol may help slightly when your face starts to ache with all of the grinning you'll be doing... ;)

I forgot.... I'll get it for you tonight.. (I just emailed myself to remind me when I get home! )

 I can't answer those yet 'cos my engine and gearbox are still sat on my garage floor... I needed the LSD 'cos of the engine spec that I've now got, without it I'd be spinning one wheel all the time... The gearbox needed a rebuild as it has 250K miles on it, and while it was apart, an extra £200 got me a VR6 box to put the different ratios in from... The different gear ratios in effect cost me less than £200 (Vince gave me a slight discount 'cos he kept the rest of the gearbox and my original input shaft and 1st/2nd gears... 8) ) and there was no labour costs as the box was already in bits... I didn't do the 2nd gear mod just for 0-60 times... I did it for the 30-100 times which should be much better as I can then leave it in second until almost 70 and when I hit 3rd I'll be right in the power band and have maximum torque... It's this kind of driving that I'll need to do most days, not 0-60... 8) My car is also due to be a daily driver, so I've not gone all out on it (believe it or not!).... The mods I've done were designed to give a very quick, very nimble, enjoyable and reasonably reliable car which can also hold it's own on a 1/4 mile and around a track... 8)
