  1. yes, it's too cheap... I paid nearly £400 for mine...    It's actually a really good kit... I've not heard of anyone who's had problems with theirs, and I REALLY like the ride quality it gives.... Slightly firmer than standard, but not harsh at all.... 8) Definately worth the money... 8)
  2. there's a thin aluminium heat shield on the bodywork just above the exhaust, this has a habit of coming loose due to the metal clips rusting off and will just touch the exhaust when the engine's running causing the annoying rattle you describe... The clips are cheap to buy from VAG (a few pence IIRC!) and it needs no tools to fit 'em (just push 'em on by hand!) I've had to do this on both of the Corrados I've had...  Hope this helps... 8)

ssssllllllooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww............ compared with a G60 at least... A reasonable 1.8 16V will give 'em a good run and should beat 'em over a run too! Handling wise, the 'rado wins every time... 8)
  5.
  6. point in case is have a look at the video onfast Purple of DubWhizz's G60 golf... the guys didn't believe it spat 3 foot flames on over-run until it did it and nearly cooked the guys in the boot! :?  That's what a flaming exhaust is SUPPOSED to look like, and when it's supposed to do it! 8)
  7. Try working/living in manchester.... It ALWAYS rains...
  8. Frist one is how I'm aiming to get mine to look (there or there abouts!) Second one has far too much air brush art on it for me... not my style at all, but nicely done...

    silver bulbs!

That's just cheating...  Good thinking though... Wish I'd have thought of that!
  10. Hey, I'd not thought about my weight loss... almost 2 stones is quite a bit, I'm gonna have to get the corner weighting re-done...
  11. Google is your friend!!!   Try HERE! 8)
  12. Yeah, but this new engine will have the power that I won't have to worry about that too much!

    silver bulbs!

demon tweeks sells 'em mail order... http://www.demon-tweeks.com/catalogue/p ... INP12496SV Give 'em a yell and see if they do the straight pin versions... 8)
  14. Should be a larger relay than most of the rest of 'em in the box... If it's not, someone's replaced it with a golf one (or similar) which hasn't got the variable facility...

    My homepage

Welcome to the forum... 8) Nice looking site you've got there, just wish I understood Swedish so I could read it all!  The repairs section looks good too... 8)
  16. It's only the relay that controls the variable intermittent wipers... If it's not working, but you still have an intermittent setting that works, then the odds are that you need a new relay... AFAIK all UK Corrados were fitted with this variable relay as standard 8) (my old H plate 16V had it)

    silver bulbs!

you can get silvertech bulbs from most decent independant car part places, just tell 'em that you're after some orange flashing silvertech bulbs with a straight pin (not offset pin) fitment and they should be able to sort you out... I've just ordered some for my FK rears and also for my clear side repeaters from my local shop... They normally keep 'em in stock, but had just run out... Hope this helps... 8) For a temp bodge, cut one of the pegs off the orange bulbs so that it'll fit in the original fitment...
  18. 6 disk changer in the glovebox... 8) TV tuner, in car PC, sub and amp in the boot... :robot: Fire extinguisher under the rear seat arm rest, :onfire: Original triangle in the triangle holder in the back seat... :help: Oh, and a first aid kit in the boot too! :pukeright: Yes, I do have lots of toys... No, you can't have too many! Oh, and I Looooovvee these emoticons!
  19. ...and also illegal... If your car flames on over-run, it'll be a small flame that pops out of the exhaust as you change gear, or let off the throttle from WOT, which is acceptable in law... These flamer kits are not legal because they are forcing fuel into the exhaust for the sole reason of creating flames which causes your car to be VERY unsafe for other motorists and pedestrians... :? It also makes you look a prize prat where as a small flame on over-run shows that your car is running in quite a high state of tune...

    Coilovers

Just keep 'em clean and spray 'em with a thin coat of waxoyle before the gritters start doing the rounds coming up to winter... you can clean it off again in the spring so you can show 'em off again during the show season... That way, you should have very little corrosion problems... 8)
  21. You'll get practically no more discount on your insurance for upgrading to a CAT1 from a CAT2 with most companies. :| You will, however, get the peace of mind that if some little oik tries to take your car, it'll make a loud noise that should scare 'em or alert you to what's happening, and you can have the keyless entry that you want... 8) The only thing that'll add a reasonable sized discount is to fit a CAT Q tracking device such as a Tracker or similar...
  22. erm, actually not the final 500... They were mixed into the final run of 'rados, and the final car off the line was a storm, but the last 500 weren't all storms. That's what makes identifying them difficult 'cos the chassis numbers are all over the place rather than being consecutive... I do agree with the legend bit though... 8)
  23. General rule of thumb is that you should have 1.5 to 2 times the amount of thread into whatever as the width of the bolt... Eg. 10mm wide bolt needs 15mm to 20mm of thread into the threaded hole to be safe... 8) If you're working out wheel bolt lenghts, put the bolt thru the wheel and measure the length of the thread showing, put the spacer on and measure the ammount of thread showing... That'll show you how much thread your life depends on with the spacers on... If that scares you, or looks REALLY small, get some new bolts! :-P
