The front sensors also have a connector onto the sensor itself...

yeah, I seem to remember changing BOTH pulleys on a mate's after I'd done mine on my 16V 'rado... 8) There was definate signs of wear on the PAS pulley 'cos the idler had battered the hell out of it! :? Having read about this a bit more, I think I was lucky in that I broke mine replacing the cam belt and P/S belt, so didn't re-fit it afterwards and got away with just replacing the one pulley... :?

That's what my car had been running for the best part of 10 years and 200K miles with no problems, so an early (non PLUS suspension) car should have no problems with that set up! 8)

Probably, but you'd need to work out resistances and power handling capabilities for both before you tried it else you'd have a rather interesting (mildly unbelievable!) story to tell the doctor at A&E!
-
That's almost exactly how mine looked when I first fitted my coilovers before it was raised and corner weighted... That was -80mm... 8) (now sits -35ish)
-
Yup, VW! The R32 is a 24V based around the VR engine... I have no idea if it's fit-able to a Corrado VR block or any other details (other than it's a 3.2) though... 8)

I'm really thinking hard about changing my gearbox while it's out of the car, so I'd be interested to know how much people are charged for a rebuild + LSD and changing the ratios... Also, Doesn't it screw up the speedo readings badly if you change the final gearing? or is the drive for the speedo AFTER the point that you change it at? The last gearbox I stripped and worked on was for a beetle which has a cable running to the front wheel hub to work the speedo!

I've got 16x7.5J 30mm offset Borbet Cs on my 'rado It's lowered about 35mm on coilovers and looks great... 8) The offset of the wheel needed depends on the model/year of your 'rado 'cos the later ones got the PLUS suspension with a totally different offset.

huh, thats me f*cked then :( just tell 'em you're the bloke with the unreadable name... They seemed pretty savvy when I called to pay... 8) They are the red/smoked ones 8)

Done... Thanks, and well done for setting this up Simon... 8)

I did over 1000 miles trying to find a reasonable one for good money, I still reckon I didn't do too badly with the one I've got... 8) I did use it as an excuse for driving about the country too and visiting Uni friends though!

Not exactly correct........ the ABF is the golf engine, and the 9A is the corrado engine. Nuts, sorry guys... Was having an off night last night... It should have been tall block and short block as well instead of short/long stroke... So: KR=1.8 16V ABF=2.0 16V Golf (Tall block) 9A=2.0 16V Corrado (short block) Sorry for any confusion...

DUBSPORT PICTURES NEEDED FOR PVW FEATURE!!!!!!!!!!
Henny replied to CaiosG60 PWR's topic in General Car Chat
Cai, your @email account is full, it's just bouncing messages back telling me to "go away"... I'll send you the hi-res versions tonight at about 8pm when I get home... 8) -
It's for my new mono-rail skateboard... Makes it easier for me to get to my garage from my house...

Moving to general as this is just a rant rather than a sale....

Autorader's pulled the sale... :(

I fitted a set of JBL component speakers, standard size door speakers with a 1 inch tweeter in the dash location with the crossover hidden under the tweets... 8) Sounds a shed load better!

Yup, it's the same as the 8V Golf ones 8) (I just bought 3 for a project!)

New oil pressure switches are under £10 from VAG. IMHO it's not worth fitting second hand sensors as they are just as likely to fail/be faulty... Also, there are about 8 different pressure senders for VAG cars that all have different pressure sensitivity ratings, so you really do need to get the correct ones. I'd agree that it's likely to be a sensor fault, although it's also worth checking the wires and connectors on to the sensors as they can oxidise (go green!) and cause errors with the readings they give thus setting off the buzzer... :? Hope this helps. 8)

KR = 1.8 16V ABF = 2.0 16V Corrado engine (short stroke) 9A = 2.0 16V Golf Engine (long stroke) There's a thread about tuning the 1.8 16V Here that you may find useful 8)

OK, the bit that you sent me the pic for is part 17 on the diagram I posted. That diagram is a bit confusing 'cos it's from the parts catalogue and so it shows all of the variations of parts... :? The part (15) you need bolts onto the head and goes over the lug you mentioned. The part you have then attaches to it with another bolt to hold it onto the head securely... 8) I'll see if I can find a better pic for you...
-
I'd put a bet on that Trimsport can get 'em... 8)
-
Got it... It's part 17 on the description... you'll need part 15 and the bolts (16)... I'll get the part numbers in a bit for you and add 'em on here... 8)
