Don't have to return them, I kept mine so never got a refund on return item.

Dunno anything about alarms.. Any suggestions what to buy and get fitted... Intention is to replace the old lazerline. So want alarm and imob, central locking, windows and sunroof shutting, and sensors inside. Thoughts please.. And price I should be paying to get it fitted.

As Jim said, get caliper off and lube the piston change seal. easy to get out with a air compressor. Or euro parts do pagid refurb units or you may be lucky with vwspares but I thinkk they only have one side.

Look tidy... Is that the furniture clinic stuff ?
-
extra air intake maybe, running turbo I guess

Thanks great pictures.

Thought it was a good engineering solution and not a bodge.

New toy fitted this morning. Oooops upside down. But you get the jist.
-
Think you mean stuck in traffic :)

Yup from above, perched on the seat. Non of this upside down rubbish as mentioned in the wiki.

That's why I'm interested in the Recaros they must be similar condition to my interior. Ignition switch not too bad, theirs a bit in wiki on it. I left the seat in, lowered the steering wheel and removed the steering wheel plastic. The problem is getting at the screw. The screwdriver needs to go round a corner. So you need to bend a screwdriver. Just needs a bit of patience. I bought a genuine switch from the dealer for £35. But I intend to keep the car and do the job once... Guess if your selling you could save a few quid. Flash red suits the car.

Looks tidy. Hummm ignition switch i had fun with one of those yesterday... I've got one or two bent screwdrivers now. I want your recaros :)

few updates as it's summer tend to play in the garage a bit more. just had a full engine service all liquids changed. put a new ignition switch in, radio wasn't working with switched positive. I reverted back to the old period sony stereo for about a week. looks good but sounds rubbish. took it out again and bought something modern that you can actually listen too. got a broken bulb in the cigarette lighter illumination at the moment... trip to the dealer this week to replace with some under dash clips. just bought a brand new set of OEM headlight protectors which have just fitted. look cool :) intend to get some parking dings sorted this week, from the paintless dent man.... if the bodywork look fab after I might get my brand new set of speedlines on. desperately need a set of roof gutter trim... every time I take the car cover off another bit falls on the floor. must be the weather the inner edge of the plastic is tacky. starting to bug me. toying with the idea of rear beam refurb.... need to look into the practicality of it. intend repainting tank straps this week. and looking at mirror switch control.. think circuit board needs a bit of clean up. mirror movement is a bit notcy

cheers for the thought.... I however bought a complete unit apart from the bulb and holder last year....praps I will have to try the dealer on Monday. -
any back roads into venue.... big events like this I study the local OS map first, avoid all the directed signs into the event and have fun down smaller roads
-
cheers will investigate
-
as above I need either new (part number and price) or secondhand a bulb and holder for illuminating the cigarette lighter. prefer it to work :) late VR if it makes any difference
-
Ditto.. Must get my car out of the garage and head to a show.

13.5 is thread length... Do you have an eBay account ? eBay is your friend. These will do.. M8 by 16mm long. It will take the extra length. Or buy longer and cut down. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M5-M6-M8-M10-A2-Stainless-Steel-Flange-Hexagon-Hex-Head-Metric-Bolts-Screws-/150935671186?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item2324779192 Failing that veedub dealer.

Yup ignition switch all working feels smoother.. Have switched positive now, and a working stereo. And one or two bent screwdrivers.
-
Cheers guys, switched changed and all sorted.
-
Thanks obvious now... All back together.

Got the ignition switch out... Eventually... I,ve got a spring hanging down on the left hand side... Where does it go ? Attach to the steering wheel plastic ?

anyone know about the running cost and servicing on electric hybrids..... I know nothing and the vw main dealer knows nothing. interested in the new Golf GTE which i saw at goodwood... my main dealer has two and knows nothing about them until he goes on the training course.... the car has high voltage signs in it at the moment... he says 9 month waiting list god knows how they have sold any.... it's a 1.4 im looking at producing 150BHP under engine and 50BHP under electric motor. is the technology too resent at the moment. and will cause problems ?
