  1. sparkling mineral water with a hint of lemon
  2. In the ideal world yes. But front are standard hex socket type and different to the rear which you bought that are Allen key. Front should come out and be able to use again, with some thread lock. If you can get them it would be safer to change them. Have a word with vag hag to see what he wants to change them. I hope you will be posting pictures of work in progress with all these new bits on.
  3. Welcome to the forum. Your barn find sounds interesting, what sort of mileage and condition and spec.
  4. Yup correct... Expensive because high torque bolts... Fronts are either 17 or 19 socket head so easy enough to use again. It's the rear that can cause a problem.
  5. Don't worry it's just a way of getting a bolt out that either won't move or you have rounded the head off. The down side is if it's out you can't use the bolt again...
  6. Re your number 4 If you mean SKF or snr they are fine and original fitment Buy some rear carrier bolts you need 4 I gave you a link in the week to some off ebay or order from vw... You may have vag hag cursing if he has to use a set of irwins to get your out.
  7. assuming standard set up.... no abs ring on front disc... its a separate component..... so no need to change. watch the disc thickness when buying they do two thicknesses. you could buy a new abs ring for the rear, its attached to the inner disc.you can buy seperatly for about £10 each or pagid do a disc with them already attached.... no wear indicators required on rear or front if the pads have them just cut them off.
  8. sorry for the gate crash of thread... this may help generate a few more people to the list.... I fitted mine Friday. bit fiddly to fit its very sticky once down no chance of lifting it up again.... I made some 3 mm spacers up to help me fit it square. old stuff was taken off with white spirit in a squirty gardening bottle with a credit card.
  9. Guys don't underestimate the 20 euro 14 pound saving... Someone has to pack these up and ship them within the UK they may weigh nothing but box and shipping with a reliable outfit isn't cheap.
  10. Thank you for my bonnet foam, I fitted it yesterday... Great if you can organise a group buy for some of the guys on here. I posed the question to a couple of people that had bought some foam off you and was on the understanding that you weren't interested... Hence the comment.
  11. are you in a rush to fit ? you could send them away to bigg red for a refurb http://www.biggred.co.uk/ the pink calipers on the home page look nice.
  12. For a DIY job use a hand wire brush.... or drill with wire brush attachment.... don't forget to wear glasses and dust mask if you choice to clean up this way... and be careful with the rubber seals and block the internals up, so you don't get rubbish inside.
  13. just fitted mine..... mine came in the same box, arrived today too..... be prepared to make a sticky mess.... sheet over engine. spray with white spirit in it and credit card.... takes about 2 hours to remove the old foam.
  14. quick update to thread.... both robin and I have bought some foam of the chap off german ebay..... robin sent me a picture of it fitted to his VR and I've only offered the foam up to the original on my car at present and all looks very good. It's 80 Euros delivered, the chaps not interested in a group buy. took about a week to arrive.
  15. Good news they still have stock... Spoke to them on Tuesday.... 3 weeks delivery from Germany... Which duel pole sender unit you guys using on a VR part number ?
  16. its great to have your and chuggs enthusiasm / passion.
  17. :) Wayne just noticed your join date and the amount of posts you have made.... The stats say your on 18 post a day average :)
  18. bathroom ???? just buy here a new bucket to wash in :)
  19. Good luck... Very wise to change carrier bolts.... It's what bolts all your new parts above to the car.... The rears are especially a bitch to get out and normally get butchered with a set of Irwins
  20. Abs ring just for the rear. It's clipped to the inside of the disk. Yup anti lock brake. They look like this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SENSOR-RING-For-ABS-VW-CORRADO-53I-2-9-VR6-190BHP-Top-German-Quality-/201108268868?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ed2fca744 You could take it off your old disk but normally they are rusty and deform when you remove. If you look on euro car parts the expensive rear disk at forty odd quid comes with this... Don't forget you will need four new carrier bolts for the rear and four for the front. Google ebay corrado carrier bolts. They are about three quid each but are high torque bolts. Rear bolts here...http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xcorrado+carrier+bolts.TRS0&_nkw=corrado+carrier+bolts&ghostText=&_sacat=0
  21. The SKF bearings will fit on a 94 VR. And are top notch original component. With the rear disks you may also need a new abs ring. You can buy seperatly or pagid used to do a disk that it came with... Note the listed front disks in your thread have two different thickness. I guess one is solid and one is vented.
