I mean brake load compensator not abs compensator talking rubbish.... It's a square box on the pass side rear. Just in front of axle.
-
Great stuff.... Sounds like chris did you proud you bought abs rings for the rear then.... With reference to rear calipers, winding back is made easier by compressing the abs compensator, I normally put a g clamp over it. It allows fluid to go back up the system. With the car off the ground there is no load on the rear wheels. Sounds like the vice sorted it. Break fluid should be a nice yellow colour... Changed every 2 or 3 years.

meant peddle rubbers for ebay
-
Jims probably right that the drivers side is the opposite thread.... I cant remember which side it is.... but don't force the screw in.... you may need to turn the screw driver as you where unscrewing it to pick the thread up.... a bit of thread lock on the screw may help in future..... if no joy from heritage go direct to VW... it's something you will find hard to match at you local screw shop.
-
give VW Heritage a call for the door handle screw and handle rubber... 10% discount today as its mothers day weekend :) with regard to passenger side lock yes that has a cover... second hand or heritage again... loads of pedal rubbers on ebay.... re.... door handle screws from memory one is left handed and one is right hand thread.... maybe why it sheared off.

You need to remove the carrier to get the disc off.... It will come clear tomorrow... No need to change or top up with break fluid as you will only winding the piston back in the caliper so watch you don't have too much in the system and it over flows.... Don't worry you have everything..... As long as the the flex is aren't perished

As Sean says.... The only way to learn, is to make mistakes... And get stuck in... It's helpful to have another car to fall back on for transport. When it goes pear shaped :)

I'm looking into a source for the foam... Not found it yet.... Im having a set made out of some fancy aircraft foam, as a spare set for me. My mate has a foam cutting business. Please no pm to me.... I'm not into manufacturing loads and making money. -
Contact this guy direct http://m.ebay.de/itm/161608946840?clk_rvr_id=795862661065&rmvSB=true He does early and late foam... I bought mine a few weeks ago direct from him... It was 80 euro delivered. Send the heritage stuff back, I know a few have as it's not up to spec.

I guess those that missed the group buy could buy through German ebay like I did. -
Nothing.... just keep it in the garage these days (future classic maybe only 40K on clock) bought it new in 1995. used it for about 4 years until 2000... then had other interest and other cars. I drive a new 4 series bmw coupe these days and have a polo for messing about in. corrado never gets neglected though it just sit in the garage and I normally play / service it in the summer when its warm..... I have a longish private drive that it regularly gets driven up and down. mines here wayne if your interested... http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=80990&highlight=delfinis38
