  1. More to the point how did you post that picture of the bacon? :D
  2. Kinda what I did with mine - but have filled it with goodies at the same time. Block was cleaned, decked, bored to a true 2.9 (closer to 3.0 from memory?) high compression Wiseco pistons, new everything, bearings, guides, chain set, MLS head gasket, Head was ported and polished by "the man in the shed" at the same time the Skrick VGI was match to the inlet and head again by Dave, Shimmel 263 cams, the cast exhaust manifolds were also ported and polished and the downpipe tig welded and polished smooth and the throttle body bored. But its still sat at my mates place in Silverstone waiting for me to put it back in the car... probably no change from £3.5K - a lot more than that on the rest of the car too, recon gearbox, everything powder coated and plated, new everything! - I could be tempted on an offer - I'll even throw in a two owner rust free car! LOL! The site wont allow me to upload any images at all for some reason..
  3. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153686753617?_trksid=p11021.c100851.m5053&_trkparms=aid%3D1110001%26algo%3DSPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20170803121420%26meid%3D22520c1cc77a47968004a860f1995f11%26pid%3D100851%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D4%26b%3D1%26sd%3D254390091997%26itm%3D153686753617%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D11021&ul_noapp=true That running gear and a turbo! :D
  4. The AUM is a later spec engine with VVT and the KO3S variant of the turbo which will produce more power if you intend to map it... but it's drive by wire so sorting the throttle can cause issues - you would technically need the AGU throttle setup. If you're going for the holy grail of 20vt engines you need a BAM code engine from the TT - factory 225BHP - software to 265-ishBHP and stronger internals
  5. cant see it personally.... Last Activity 25th June 2015
  6. Another vouch for the 20v non turbo being a completely breathless weezy dog of an engine... to the point I seem to remember VW stopped using it in the GTI badged non turbo MK4 and went back to the 8v lump. Like others have said I would recon the 9a or look at a ABF - a few subtle mods and they go so well, head port etc, or a factory 150bhp with the 20vt - but dare I say it they are a little boring without a few mods.

    Sony XR5509

Had one of those Sony's in my Golf GTI - had a big appetite for tape.. ;) don't put your favourite Def Leopard album in there :D
  8. I've already got one new one... the one that was available from Heritage, cant remember what side it was? but I'd be up for the other for sure!
  9. Any reason for removing the VGI and going back to the standard one?
  10. Location, condition and type of interior?

    Abs pump 358614217 :)

What was the company they used on the episode of Wheeler Dealers to fix a faulty pump? they looked pretty thorough?
  12. Yeah I need to do something with mine, a decision to finish or sell as is ... I don't know where all my time goes these days... well mainly on house renovations unfortunately... I've got a £3+K engine sat waiting to go in a newly painted engine bay, powder-coated sub-frame and recon gearbox, 312 brakes all new, BBS wheels, Koni shocks, bushes, bearings everything is new!... its purely time I dont have :(
  13. Last weekend - Haddenham, saw the Blue VR from close to the Rising Sun pub... not that I frequent the pub ;) and also another Corrado on the same weekend on road to Haddenham from Aylesbury... I was in the Black Scirroco R looking surprised to see two Corrados in one day! :D

You can still buy them new from Heritage - Bought one for mine about £90 from memory
  15. Lifted the cover - looked at it and thought 'I need more time in life' :/
  16. Couldn't give me a quote as my insurance isn't due till the end of October... asked for a rough idea of cost as I like to get things sorted but again not possible... Strangely managed to get quotes from all the online places thou. LOL! they could of missed out there ;)
  17. Do you insure newer vehicles or just classics? I'm looking to re-insure my Scirocco R very soon and I'm not impressed with my current providers endless list hidden costs every time I pick the phone up to them.
  18. Almost 100% sure it was Glyco OEM as I remember going through all this when I built my bottom end - mine has Glyco bearings and bolts, all from Germany. ;)
  19. Shame the info and threads couldn't of been merged here as a sub-forum even if they were made read-only - they did a similar thing when XBMC for the Original Xbox was discontinued and became Kodi.
  20. Also restricting the fall of the hammer that I pointed out in my sunroof adventure ;) - its the reason the sunroof slider snaps, eliminate that and the sunroof shouldn't fail.
  21. call me mad.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-TR8/273901691282?hash=item3fc5d02192:g:n8cAAOSw0ohdD5Ve But I was always a big fan of the Grinnal V8 cars.
