thats positively the house next door in Corrado terms! :D
-
Yeah easy to tune, especially the BAM 225 variant. map will give 260+, hybrid KO4 will go 300+ and IHI etc will make 350. I've run modified 20VT's in the past. But dare I say it... the engine is a bit on the dull side... compared to a later TFSI on full song it just seems a bit... well boring? don't get me wrong a great engine! I'm the same as pfnsht these days, it's not all about out right speed which a 20VT will undoubtedly murder most in that department, its a bit more about soundtrack and the fun of driving it.

message Lilfuzzer (Chris) - I'm sure he had wiper parts he was looking at getting rid of a while ago

Need steering rack replacement, may as well do clutch at the same time???

It would allow easier access to the gearbox.. but make sure you have all the necessary engine supports in above. I'd wait for Canadian summer and do it myself ;) -
The rough running is the Corrado airing it's disappointment as you get behind the wheel of a Ford! ;)

Soon as the word 'shiny' was used the magpie was going to swoop in! :D

Welcome 93rado - look forward to the pictures! ;)

So he measured a crushed gasket at 1.6mm - the MLS on the fire rings uncrushed is only 1.05.. and the rings are raised so I would think it definitely crushes to under 1mm - there is absolutely no way the MLS even fresh out of the pack is anywhere near 1.65mm as he states.
-
Found my pictures... Sorry got measurements slightly wrong... 1.91mm for the fibre one... 1.05 for the MLS - no idea what the fella in that link was measuring but the MLS is thinner.
-
£170 for my chains
-
MLS is definitely a lot thinner - I bought both and measured both with digital verniers - standard Elring which I understand to be the same as if not OEM 1.6mm Victor Reinz MLS was 0.9mm - again I think this is also OEM to the later engines, it stands to reason that the compression will be increased, which will result in more bang... how much, I don't know. I had a decked block and a skimmed head so two very clean surfaces to work with - I did also use a non-air setting flange sealer so the MLS made sense to fit ;)

Yes very nice! Makes me want to get back out and working on mine! :(

Hmmmm not sure... my car (well the front as I've not finished the rear) is sat on a B12 kit..
-
Just buy the B12 kit ?

Just another tax on the motorist.... makes me laugh, the least green cars such as the Prius which has a huge carbon foot print before it even leave the factory are unaffected
-
Same year as mine... looks a bit more complete than mine thou! LOL!

I 'think' I still have the pistons I removed from mine before getting my block bored... I'll try and get over to Silverstone this week.

What is Santa bringing your Corrado for Xmas. (And cars name please)
Geeba replied to Cressa's topic in General Car Chat
Hope everyone had a good Christmas! Moved the Corrado back into the garage - so hoping to get some bits done soon! -
Hi all - I will update this with pictures and more details but I thought I'd post it up - the car is actually off having an MOT which I can assure you it has passed with no advisories Its a Phantom Metallic Black B7 2006 TFSI Quattro S-Line - proper longitudinal Quattro! 200Bhp - but has an AmD map so probably nearer 250Bhp 125,000 miles roughly (cant remember but will update) Two owners from new, completely stock, and very good condition. Full Grey/Black leather Audi Concert 6 Disk Changer 18" S Line Wheels Climate control All usual S-Line trim - The aluminium dash trim not the nasty wood one! Due to changes is life I no longer need a larger family car - and as I mainly work from home it just seems a shame that it sits there. Its been a fantastic car - never missed a beat, last year in the snow I literally drove round people and went home! It's about to grace eBay but thought I would post it up here first to see if any VAG people wanted a Quattro. Location is near to Thame in Oxfordshire It will be going on ebay for £2800-ish - but open to offers PM me for more details - I'll get some pictures as soon as I can.
-
Welcome! Get used to it being in bits a lot ;)

Fit the ABF? I'm not sure but I think the ABF head/inlet/injection system will fit the shorter block... could be worth checking for sure - but you could also run it on carbs, they sound like an absolute weapon! Not difficult to get 180bhp, cams, head work, manifold etc... ;)
