  1. £25k will get you a mint Z4M coupe. As tasty as that Rocco is, i know what i'd rather have!
  2. Winner: http://www.tshirthell.com/funny-shirts/ ... r-giraffe/
  3. You could probably negotiate a similar cut down anyway wit higher priced cars, but you'd struggle with the cheaper models. I'd give them the bare minimum that entails a 'car' and scrap the rest myself for extra cash. They'd end up with a rolling chassis!
  4. To be honest i would love a DC5, post 2005 face lift, but then you're talking £15k, which can buy you a whole list of cars
  5. I understand that the Integra are much better cars, but £3k vs £10ish? Ive not driven one so i cant really comment too much
  6. 2000 plate Accord Type R, can be had for very cheap these days and is seen as one of the best front handling saloons ever made. I would look at Integra's, but they confuse me, let me explain. They're more costly than a civic equivilant, and ALOT more costly than a prelude, which i find confusing as they're both Honda coupes with similar performance, yet a 2001 plate Integra is like £11k, and an 01 plate prelude is like £3k?!?!
  7. Would a 16V turbo or even a 1.8T engine swap not be an easier/cheaper option? I can see the attraction of doing a 16VG60 conversion, but with the cash involved you'd may as well stick a remapped BAM in there and be done with it
  8. Well ive spent far too much time and effort on my rado to think about chopping it in for a g60/vr, and im on a tight budget so throwing a turbo conversion at it isnt an option, so im open to ideas of budget tuning. I can get some more details on exactly what he is planning on doing with it, but he seems keen to have a play around
  9. A friend of a friend has his own business writing engine maps for a living, my cousin is getting his TT remapped for £200 and i got onto the subject of mine, being a 1990 valver it obviously cannot be remapped in the conventional way, but he mentioned that the chip can be replaced. He's offered to do it for £100, and i should see around +14bhp. Has anyone had anything similar to this on their valver? Is the difference noticeable? I also have a full stainless system, what gains would i see with this, the chip, and possibly a stainless manifold? The engine was fully rebuild less than 10k ago, so i imagine the power to be around factory spec at the minute
  10. The only casulaties of the ailing car industry are the manufacturers that produced poor cars in the first place, mainly Americans. Companies that are producing desired cars are doing fine, like Fiat, all of the 500 Abarths were sold before the first ones reached the show rooms. The main casulaties are the Americans because they seem to be surprised that no one in Europe wants a V8 that produces 150bhp at 16mpg wrapped in tin foil. Same with any industry in the world, you survive if you build superior products. Take a look at Rolls Royce (i work for them), their order book is bigger than ever, they have no debts at all and have over £1billion in cash readily available, and why? Because they build superior products. Now why should i feel forced and seduced into selling my corrado (a superior product) for a 'green' piece of shit? Bollocks to them, im keeping my corrado until someone prises my cold dead fingers from the steering wheel.
  11. Think ive got it sorted today. Got a quote of Chris Knott, fully comp, protected NCB for £534, will be taking that tomorrow!
  12. Would need to be something Jap to move me away from a rado. Skyline R33 Integra DC5 Evo The only problem i have with Jap cars is the dreadful interiors. Yes they look nice from the outside, yes they're powerful and pretty reliable, but the interiors are just pants, i mean really pants, no imagination whatsoever
  13. Cheapest quote is £400 tpft with the mods on too, if i could get fully comp down to £450 i'd happily take it, but i just accant afford to pay £550+, im supposed to be moving out in May so need all the money i can get/save
  14. My insurance is due and ive reached my 4yrs ncb, so i can have it protected. The car has a few mods and a cat 1 alarm. But my main question is, with it being a 1990 valver, is it worth paying the extra for fully comp? Im looking at £440 tpft and £573 fully comp, but i can imagine the book price to be pretty low, and with an excess of £300-£400 i dunno if fully comp would be worth it? Anyone else had similar thoughts with their insurance?
  15. I have to be honest, despite my initial complaints about this car i am seeing more and more modified examples on various websites and its looking better and better. There is a 'new scirocco' thread on E38 and theres some bloody nice examples on there. I just hope VW make a hotter version at some point. Also, in 1-2 years when these start to filter into the 2nd hand market they're gonna be BIG on the scene
  16. Escort RST's have always fetched decent money, very very few standard ones left now. As for Astra GTE's, hardly any of these things knocking around, not seen a mk1 for years!
  17. Will sign up tomorrow. Just stuck a tenner on Button to get pole, 4/1, boom!
  18. Ah i see, i thought it was just a case of pick a team for the season and off it goes. I guess the extended budget after each race keeps the interest in it
  19. Im confused. Do you pick a team that is kept for the whole season? And if so, why does it matter if the prices fluctuate throughout the season? And what happens if you dont choose a first pit stop and retirement for each race?

  21. Can the new breed 4 pot engines be made to sound nice? A friend of mine has recently bought (well, given by his parents) a 200bhp 07 plate TT. Yes its comfortable, yes its well built, yes its fast, but its so bloody boring! Whats the point in going fast if it doesnt FEEL fast? He can hit 130ish without you even noticing it, which is pointless in my opinion. I would imagine that the new rocco feels roughly the same. Whereas another friend of mine sold his mk4 golf for a 05 plate Focus RS, now that is much more fun. You can feel and hear everything. Hearing the turbo spool up and dump out the wastegate is much more satisfying than driving the TT. Although i guess people wouldnt buy a rocco/TT for the fast turbo type feeling, thats what mid 90's Jap motors are for.
  22. Bugger, i've already got the screw back in. To be honest though i'd be pissed if the switch went again during my ownership
  23. Wooooohooooo, ive managed to get it out, now just wondering how im gonna get it back in?
