  1. Oh dear: Nearside rear seat belt not working Nearside headlamp producing incorrect image Nearside rear brake binding Both rear brake hoses excessively corroded Brake load sensing value linkage seized Exhaust emits dnese blue smoke at idle Parking brake efficiency below requirements Nearside rear parking brake recording little effect Oh bugger! Altho on closer inspection its basically a new headlamp bulb, seatbelt and rear brake overhaul. Oh, and the blue smoke is likely to be caused by the value seals being worn. Fun times!!!
  2. The Shield is where its at, what ever happened to that?!? Also two and a half men and scrubs, ooooh yeah!
  3. Since i've owned my Rado ive noticed the gaps between the front and rear bumpers and the body work seems to be getting bigger, its a good 1/2-3/4 of an inch now, and i'd like them to sit a little more flush. Is it just a case of removing them and replacing the bolts/brackets? Cheers Chris
  4. I drove home from my missus's on Monday at half 12 at night, i passed 3 cars on the 4 mile trip, how is that possibly more dangerous than driving during rush hour? Also, what if there is an emergency after 10pm? Its basically house arrest!!
  5. Its just done 120k and has tonnes and tonnes of history. Full service history, well over 1.5inches of receipts. Pressure test at the garage sounds like the first port of call then, hopefully just the valve stem seals so i can sort it myself
  6. Thats why god created the 1.8T and VR6 engine swap
  7. My 1.8 valver is getting through oil for fun, burning waaaaay too much. The engine smokes quite badly, although it has gotten better since its had a service. An oil switch was found leaking, and was replaced, since then the smoking has gotten better, but its still there, it seems to get worse as the engine gets warmer too. Here is a pic of the residue left on the exhaust tip: I enquired at a local garage and the reply was 'its an old engine' I'm not very mechanically minded, but the car is coming off the road for 5 months at the end of Jan, so i'll have time and the space to have a crack at sorting it myself. Any help welcomed.
  8. I think the average bloke doesn't know what a Rado is, i keep getting told i've got a nice Audi!

    R32

R32 for me, one on my list!! Hopefully i'll get to the stage one day where i could class a car that expensive as 'a dailt runaround'!
  10. The price varies an awful lot. A standard 2.0 valver in good nick ended on ebay earlier for less than £1.5k. Mine was £1800, its done 118k, fsh, massive receipts folder, 12 months tax and mot, totally standard and not a single speck of rust on it, although it has had a partial respray at some point and the new paint is fading!
  11. Dear GOD some people shouldnt be allowed to think for themselves!
  12. They're stonking cars, my mate used to have one until he part chopped it for his series 1 Escort RST, which again, is a stonking car
  13. It might just be me but im wary of adverts like these, when they list something like the interior as 'Karmann', as if its a special extra. If they knew even the slightest amount about it they wouldn't even have the word in theird advert, just my opinion thouh
  14. Gotta be honest that i thought this too, sometimes wish i'd paid an extra £500 and go a G60, especially as then a good example was fetching £2500, it seems to have jumped up by a grand since then!! Oh well, at least i have turbo/16V G60 options when money gets better!
  15. This is pretty much the same as mine. 1990 valver, totally standard, 118k, fsh, loads of reciepts, not a speck of rust anywhere, and it cost me £1800. I've been offered £2k for it, but i just cant justify selling it, i love it
  16. Sweeeeet. Plug and play one for me, i'll happily for that bit more, pay cheap pay twice :-P
  17. Well if you could make a good quality plug and play unit using the original wiring plugs then as i said i'd be more than happy to pay good money for one, i'd rather pay more for a good quality unit than less for a cheaper one
  18. I need one of those, but to be honest i'd rather pay £40+ for a really good one! So if anyone is planning on making some of very good quality then let me know!!
  19. lol, the install will be fairly stealth, so i dont know if it'll show off his skills well enough, altho i guess it would show his stealth skills!! Altho the Rado is coming off the road soon, so the equipment isn't going in for a good few months now
  20. Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but some fella thats 'into' his cars just told me i have a nice Audi!! Despite the VW badge in plain sight on the front and rear of the car. I didn't have the heart to say anything, i just said 'cheers'
  21. I'll be going to a specialist insurer with agreed value on the Rado when my insurance is due in the summer, i couldn't this time around as most specialists require you to be 21, and im still at the young age of 20
