  1. Ah, now speaking to someone that sees electronic cables as piles of spag bol, how do i fix this?
  2. Ok, since my engine rebuild my headlights have been acting weird. My old pair would be fine on main beam, then when i put the full beam on the entire passenger headlight would turn off. Since then i've bought some new ones, mainly because they were falling apart for fun. So my new ones now do this: When i turn the side lights on: Passenger side turns the side light on Drivers side turns the main bulb half on When i turn the main beam on: Passenger side has the main light half on and the side light on Drivers side has the main light on When i turn full beam on: Passenger side has just the side lights on Drivers side has just the main bulb on full So as you can see, its very random. The full beam lights never come on, and the passenger side light is constantly on no matter what i select. So, what the fooooook is going on? Is it likely to be something from when the wiring was redone after the rebuild? Chris.
  3. I averaged 37ish mpg last weekend, with 41mpg being the highest, thats after my engine rebuild though
  4. Its funny you should mention that.......
  5. Excellent. Im not used to taking cars apart, i know its only a bulb but i never needed to replace anything (before the rado that is  ).
  6. Firstly, i was going to put this in another sexy but didnt know whether it would class as interior or exterior  I've got a new sunroof+mech+seal and i need to fit it rather sharpish. The seal on mine has collapsed into the roof. I was going to wash the car 2moz afternoon, but now i cant unless i want a mobile swimming pool. So i need to change it sharpish because knowing my luck it'll rain every day until i get it done. So, are there any guides? How long is it likely to take? And is it a 2 man job? Also, im guessing its easier with the seats removed from the car?
  7. Its the high beam bulb, ive broken mine and its all i need for the MOT. Now, with the Rado being the kind of car it is, what are the chances of me walking into the local stealers and there being one on the shelf?
  8. Mine used to be rather poor but after picking it up from Midland VW yesterday i got 41 on the way down the A38, and an average of 37ish for the journey. After usually seeing high 20's i was well chuffed
  9. The spring clip thingy. So i now need to connect the slip back to the wire within the headlight.
  10. Just picked my car up from Midland VW after its engine rebuild, and finally, after 11 weeks without it, it should be back on the road for the weekend!! Not only did it feel incredible good driving it again on the way back, but i also managed to get 41, yes 41MPG down the A38, with an average of 37.3MPG for the entire journey!! Owners of the 1.8 valver will know how hard this is to get! Just wanted to share my joy, who would have thought it would feel so good to get your standard daily back on the road!
  11. My car is booked in for an MOT tomorrow and my friend and I managed to break the main beam bulb when we were attempting to replace them. Whilst taking the bulb out we broke the connectors off the end and i now need to bodge it back right for the MOT. So, what is the best way of going about this, except for the use of a soldering iron as my mates dad has that and he in in the US of Aiiiii. Alternatively, anyone in derby have an early set of headlights i can steal for a day?!? Cheers for any help. Chris.
  12. Managed 30mpg on the way to E38 last year, full car with 3 lads in. Highest ive got is 35mpg, down some nice straight country roads on a cold/damp night, engine loved it!
  13. Mine seem to go on forever, i always change before hitting the limit due to the engine screaming at me!
  14. Ah yes, fun times! Mine doesnt slide either! Will do within a few weeks tho, ah ha!
  15. It'll more than likely be for sale within a few weeks/months, rather cheap too. I should find out for sure next week
  16. I've got one from the site above, tis very good
  17. IF the deal comes through (fingers crossed!!) then it'll be a case of take any useful parts off, put them on the valver, then get the G looking reasonable enough to sell. I would keep the G if it came along earlier, but ive just spent £1k on an engine rebuild on the valver, so wouldnt make sense to sell it for the G, plus i know the condition of the valver as its had alot of parts replaced recently. Although, i could always keep the supercharger and look into a 16VG60 conversation, now i know the engine is nice and strong, hmmmm.
  18. Was sat at work today discussing my engine rebuild and one of the blokes pipe up, conversion went as follows: bloke - "was it a corrado youve got" me - "yeah why" bloke "a mate of mine took one in px for his beemer a while back, it failed its MOT, needs 4 new tyres to pass he says, he was gonna sort it but its been sat in the garage on his farm for 6 months, last i heard he was gonna scrap it" me - "what model is it?" bloke - "charged something" me - "G60?" bloke - "yeah that rings a bell, if you want it i reckon i could get it ya for free cus it was gonna cost him £50 to scrap it, why, do you want it?" me - "HELL YEAH i want it" bloke - "ok, well buy me a beer 2moz lunch and i reckon i could get it ya for free" FECKIN SCORE!!!!
  19. Clicky Are these really decent unbranded jobbies? Or just a load of tosh? Im after some coilovers ideally, but have a budget or £250ish. Should i buy something like this, OR, get some weitec shocks and springs, then buy some coilovers next year when my money situation improves? Chris.
  20. Does everyone's magnex do what mine did on my mk2? Mine had a nice burble on tickover, and seems to sound gorgeous at lower revs, below 3kish, then when you put your foot down it got quieter. Well not quieter, but didnt get stupidly loud like some do, if they makes sense? I just want one that sounds nice at lower revs, should encourage me to drive slower! My old magnex one sounded gorgeous
  21. Apparently they are rebuilt by AVO themselves, with the outside repainted too. Been offered them for £250. So i think if the refurb information checks out then i'll take them.
  22. I've been offered some refurbed AVO coilovers for a reasonable price. The lad is selling on behalf of a friend, and so doesn't know the model number, but has informed me that they drop down to 120mm. Does anyone know what model they're likely to be? Also, anyone got any thoughts on this particular make? Cheers for any help
  23. That first one looks waaaaaay too much like the new TT, would look like the same car to 'non car people'. And the green one, although i saw the pic a good while back now, has just struck me as looking alot like the latest Alfa coupe.
