I have to admit smoking can cause problems I crashed my first car due to the cherry falling of the end of the fag and proceeded to burn me nutz before I knew it I had crashed into a parked car ( WHOOPS :D ) Mind due I haven't done it since :D. Next thing the police will stop is all talking in a car you are just as likely to lose concentration talking to a passenger than you are talking to someone on your mobile phone.

Glad you got it sorted mate Darren was round my house when you rang him it did sound like a vacuum related problem glad the RAC were actually competent enough to sort it for ya. I ve had to call them out quite a few times in the past and every time I ve had to be trailored home even for the most simple fixes.

I run the ATE Power discs from ECP and at the price they were I am very happy with them.

I was there but not in the G60, Before I took it off the road there was a flat spot between 5k to around 5.6k and after that it would pick up again I advanced the timing a degree or 2 on the ignition timing and it helped alot the flat spot was drastically reduced. It could also be a weak hall sender so I am told but didn't have a chance to try that one before I took it off the road. What chip are you running Toby?? As it seems alot of the sns stg5 chipped cars seem to have this problem as well!!

Have you changed the thermostat if it is stuck shut then the water will just be sitting in the engine and not running through the rad when its hot feel the bottom rad hose if it is still cold or luke warm then it is probably that, that is causing the problem! Welcome to the forum by the way!! :D

I used to run the 90mm spoiler on my 80mm lowered corrado but after going through 3 of them I gave up. the C is going back into the paint shop to have another 90mm spoiler colour coded and blended into the bumper but of course I am going to have to raise the carbn a tad because it would be off in a month or 2 :( coilovers are coming werhoo

My strategy is I let my tyres down to 20psi for better road grip then I do a burnout to get the tyres nice and warm, usually I will get staged first as the lights go pretty much straight away after the second car has got staged which can catch you off guard. When the green light comes on below the 2 staging lights I know thats the time to bring up the revs, when the lights do go green then it's foot flat to the floor until 5k then between 5-6k in second and so on my best time down the strip was 14.7 with a reaction of .4 a couple of weeks ago I could have gone quicker I reckon but only managed to get 3 runs in because of all the drag cars which were leaving oil slicks on the track ( wan@ers :( ) still it's something that takes practice and you do get better each time you go there as you get the nak of it after a while :D

Have you got seperate tweeters from your mid range speakers daz if you have then the passive crossover is ideal in seperating the the frequencies so your midragers only get the mid and low pass frequencies and the tweeters only get the high pass so you dont blow them prematurely if you aint got separate tweeters from your mids then I wouldn't bother in installing it as it wont do alot

Yeah my C is sitting right outside my front door and I just want to jump in and go for a spin in it everyday, still it will all be worth it in the long run!! Still going to keep the asta-ra when the C is finished I think though and use that as the daily driver during the week and then the C for weekends and evenings
-
Hey don't knock the asta - ra it is a true beast you can hang it into corners dab the handrake and step the back end out a treat great fun!! cheap motoring is great dont have to worry bout locking it or parking dents or anything like that just dump and run :D
-
There's a nice skoda down the road for you furk only £50 I can just see you in it now big'ing it up round Crawley town on a Friday night :D
-
Dont underestimate the power of the whopping 1388cc engine jim it has a whopping 50bhp under the bonnet :D all that power and only 4 gears is a bit of a pain though keep going for 5th gear and sticking it in 3rd DOH

A bloke walked into my local dea;ership and ordered a brand spanking new R32 engine from them with the intention of twin turbo'ing it and sticking it in his corrado I haven't met the bloke yet but I think he is man on a mission as the R32 engine dont come cheap!!!
-
Well here is the new beast I'll be driving around in for the next few months 4 owners from new 6 months MOT and so far has is doing about 40 miles to the gallon not bad for an old dog that cost £150 :D It's bl**dy horrible to drive but its cheap to insure and is ideal to cart dirty engine parts around in :D
-
I'll definately be there in my new daily hack I dont want to humiliate myself too much so will park at least half a mile away :D

The most nugget yellow corrado's I ve seen in one place at one time was a show a year or so ago I counted 6 including mine. As far as I am aware I think only 500 nugget yellow corrado's were ever produced but that is just pub talk I dont have any solid evidence but that is the figure I was told. I love the colour every time I saw one when I was driving my golf gti around I always thought to myself I would have one and now I do :D and it is getting some very heavy breathing on it over the next few months to bring it back to outstanding condition including a full respray :D
-
Brian I got mine made at a local bike specialists they build loads of high performance bikes for road and track specs I supplied him with an old engine mount and he used the bottom bracket off of it and then made the rest out of billet alloy I was well impressed with it I am sure he would make another one for me if you were interested and it would cost you about £20- £30. heres a picture of mine
-
Jim I will probably be driving my new beast upto the RR day ( dont laugh but its a astra estate :D :D :D :D ) cant complain though as it is £150 and has a 6 months mot reconditioned head and new rad fitted a week or so ago. Perfect for hauling dirty engine parts around :D Try £nearer the £2000 pound mark Mike after I'm done with it it will look totally different as it's nott only the engine that is being done going for the less is more look now proper rally style 2 bucket seats and harnesses, half cage full respray and possibly a new dash but we'll see how tight money gets. I plan on keeping the car for a while so might as well do it properly :D
-
:D Not a chance! given my spot away anyway, now the car is off the road for at least the whole winter it'll give me something to do in the evenings, got to strip it all down ready for the respray when I ve got the rest of the engine out gonna send the block to southern rebores in the next couple of weeks to be overbored to 83.5 mm ready for the new pistons and rods to go in :D
-
here's a picture of how the engine bay looks like today I put the new crank bolt in and checked it all out before turning the car over all looked to be ok but when she fired up it sounded more like a citroen 2cv on one cylinder :D so decided to rip it all out there's a long way to go yet this is just the begining but I think it'll be worth it :D
