it's weird because on the site all the more modern VW's are reasonably priced, some even quite cheap! but the rado and mk2's are all a wee bit steep.... But there will always be some non-enthusiast who won't have read up on them wanting to pay over the odds for no reason! Good luck to you andrewchapple ;)

hehe just come back from the garage to see how my corrado is doing, and got 34MPG out of my supercharged VR6 golf!! and i didnt drive it like a granny either! NOW THATS ECONOMY!!! :lol: :lol: that is economy... but i don't think the mpg reader will be telling the truth somehow? or am i wrong?

i've got a mk3 GTi 2.0 8v, yeah it's not as fast as a 16v, but tbh as a daily driver the fuel economy is good around 35mpg, and is quite torquey for overtaking.... plus the engine is bomb proof.... plus you can pick up good condition 8v's for a grand now with 100k or os on the clock... My house mate has an ibiza GTi 2.0 16v and thinks its pretty good too....

i would class myself as a true dubber, mk3 1.4 (1st car), mk2 syncro, mk4 1.6, and now mk3 GTi (but this was meant to be a corrado, but it fell through at the last min). Bullied my mum into buying a mk4 V5, stepdad a Touareg Tdiand my dad had a passat 130 tdi for a while, the GF has a mk4 polo 1.4 for her 1st car and her mum has a mk4 Tdi all thanks to by unrivelled bias towards VW.... Oh and now my gf's housemate has just bought a mk3 gti coz he liked mine.. But i am holding out for a corrado vr6 next year sometime....

Now theres a thought!!!! I like you're thinking! If you don't ask you don't get afterall! :idea: or if you do sell ask if you can use his rs4 or mk2 vr6 as your daily indefinately... :wink:

well, if ypu've got a mk3 2.0 8v you know what the engine is like! the corrado is heavier also... so it will be a tad slower.... if you've got a colour concept then sell it for top wack and get a VR,,, by all accounts you'll end up wanting one sooner or later.... ;)

This rado is going to be amazing... Will this be the most powerful in the UK when its done? ;) I'd just get smashed and forget all about it for one night! :(

if your desperate for it go and get a 0% credit card (or more) and then just payback what you can and shift the ammount to a new card when the 0% is up! this would be your cheapest option imho...

they are great value... my mum bought one a year ago 1.6, 53 plate... 45k for £5,000!!! the only down side is they have possibly the most gutless 1.6 engine ever! but the price cannot be ignored...

ring your local vw dealer and give them your reg number.... they should give you the radio code with some persuasion..... and if that codes doesnt work you'll need to pull the stereo out and see what the serial number is.... call em and they'll sort you out... i had the same prob on my mk4 stereo, i think it's cheeky garages swapping good stereos for bad... etc.... cheeky gits!

just argue like mad i had a 306 i wrote off, they offered me £3800 (4 years ago) and i had just paid £5250 for..... i just kept on and on at them till they agreed £5250 minus my excess.... just stand your ground and dont accept what you are not happy with... explain to them that you have just paid x for it and you want y back, do you have a receipt from when you bought it? they will try every trick in the book to shaft you, but at the end of the day YOU are the customer..... good luck
