  3. when i had my coilovers fitted i had the same problem.....had to fit 10mm spacers on the backs and 5mm spacers on the front...not sure why but i was just happy it worked.....i didn't do any of the work myself tho :D
  4. this may be of help....if it works :D
  5. i had a problem when i fitted my new cd/mp3 player....the car wouldn't start.....a new ignition switch sorted it out...not sure the reasons but the ignition switch seems to be something that needs replacing at some point anyway
  6. I know what you mean.....there are lots going cheap just now....and if i hadn't just spent an obsene amout doing up my new house then i would have had one by now.....i have been watching the prices drop for the last year. maybe if they keep going i'll get one eventually :D
  7. check all the hoses between the mass air flow meter(maf) and the throttle body....especially the 2 thin pipes that connect to the underside of the pipe at the throttle body.....take the idle speed control valve(isv) off and clean it with carb cleaner or similar......check the wiring on the plug that plugs onto the throttle potentiometer. if you use the search you will find all these things and many more......bad idiling is very common good luck.....and welcome
  8. give it a few days and get to your doctor.....whiplash normally doesn't show for the first couple of days....... that should ease the pain
  9. i had a very similar problem for about a year....torture. mine turned out to be the wires were broken inside the plastic covers at the plug for the throttle potentiometer(throttle position switch) once fixed all was well. since fixing that i have had the odd dodgy idle but its just the small pipes that attatch to the underside of the rubber pipe that joins the throttle body working their way off.....once back on steady idle it took me a year of cleaning the isv, checking and re checking all the pipes from airbox to the throttle body, buying a new mass air flow meter, throttle potentiometer, distributor,leads,coil...etc good luck
  10. mmm....that might rule me out then
  11. as above, a friend has a set of these taking up room and he says i can take them if they will fit in the c so does anyone know if it is possible? pic 1 taken from ebay pic 2 the only one i have of the actual ones....just

my 2.0 16v must be doing quite well then.....or lying to me :D if i get lower than 34 on any motorway journey its a surprise got this a couple of weeks ago not a big trip.....10-12miles speed 60/85 ish
  20. the potentiometer is the bit under the throttle body.......not easy to get to .....really got to take the throttle body off to get access to it
  21. check out the wiring for the throttle potentiometer, and the 2 small hoses that connect to the underside of the air intake at the throttle body. 2 out of the 3 wires for the plug for the potentiometer on mine were broken inside the plastic coating......that was really easy to find out.....not.......took about a year of bad idiling to get annoyed enough to keep looking until found. since i joined the wires the idle has been spot on good luck :D
  22. got this after driving home tonight.....about a 10 mile journey 2.0 16v
  23. i did the kr cam thing recently and when i got it all back together it sounded like a rough running taxi......turned out the tensioner was too loose......new belt and tensioner and all well :D ...this info might be useless but...?? hope you get it sorted mate
