When I got this car, there was the obvious rust but the rear quarter above the fuel cap had weird laquer peel/paint issues all the way up to the roof. I put it down to the whole side having been sitting somewhere for years getting stonechipped/weathered. But after Ally(welder and general car hero) found a small crack in the metal of the window frame, a little further investigation found a previous repair job, and not a very good one at that Original picture Today's find

Ha ha, I wondered when you might show up.....this is the halfwit who is fixing my car btw

VR6 misfiring problem - all cylinders firing, but down on power
easypops replied to Reverend Frog's topic in Engine Bay
Yes, happened to me, only found it bad in the rain.......went through a big puddle and the car started running terrible, popped the bonnet and the coil pack was doing the blue spark dance :) -

Try spraying the coil with a mist of water while it's running -

Welcome to pop over and try one here mate, sure I've got a couple spare :)

Is it just the beam ones that differ mate, or is is also the ones that run along the underside? I've a powdercoated beam I got from Goldie, which was tied to the red VR he had, so that's a late one for sure....... I can cobble together more than I need from what I have but I'd like them new so I can forget about them for a while :)
-
Great Dave, fairly sure there is only 4 on the beam itself :)
-
I knew you would mate, it's a bit of a long shot but you never know I might get lucky Thanks though :)
-
Cheers Joe :) A little more done today, window out next and door strip off, wing on
-
Just on the off chance that anyone has these lying about new and unused as I plan to order them soon. All brake pipe clips for rear beam and underside. Any of the associated nuts/bolts needed for the underside Cheers :)

A bit more progress on the Storm

Unsure, but I plan to be doing this in the near future, beam is off though. The one on my Twilight VR was so rusty I just cut the pipes and Spring and it's still there waiting for me to try again....so I can get it refurbished

Cheers guys :) I've currently got 6 mate, lol, it's a disease  4 Corrado VR6's,(2 of which are breakers owned jointly by myself and Goldie) My daily is an Audi S4 avant with an LPG conversion The MK2 Golf was a daft buy, always loved the colour and it popped up local and cheap due to being a non runner......no spark, so should have been easy enough to diagnose. Only thing is, the Storm popped up a few days later and now the Golf is sidelined. I'm sure I'll work it out at some point  Really need to get rid of the worst breaker for room/peace from the missus :)

A bit more progress over the weekend Excuse the brakes......they will be leaving:)
-
Me please Dave, add it to the other bit please :)

Corrado badges . Red front only I'm afraid .
easypops replied to robrado974's topic in Suppliers Forum
Afraid not, I do have a red front badge but its badly faded/worn. I'd be happy with whichever you choose, like a pillar box red? -
