Aanyone got a pic of aqua blue C with all red rear lights?
Dogzyboy replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Exterior
Should you decide you no longer want the FKs, I could well be interested!! -
Glad you seem to finally have it all sorted out mate. Can I just ask, which wires were a bit loose & required re-crimping? Hoping this might be the case on mine too? Cheers, Doug

I'm having problems with a 01253 fault code which says is related to Injector no 5. Sounds like we might hava similar problem. I'm currently having a few ignition issues so I'm guessing that it might be related to that. I also need to clean up all the earth points at the weekend to see if that solves my problem? I'll be interested to see how you get on with this. I hope you get it sorted soon as I know how irritating it is to have a random misfire  Doug

Just voted. It is however, 250 votes behind a Volvo!! :(

I bought a lead off ebay. It seems to work ok with the downloaded software. Not convinced it likes 'talking' to my ABS ECU though?

Not Your Typical Lumpy/Hesitant/Stuttery Problem - FIXED!?!
Dogzyboy replied to Dogzyboy's topic in Engine Bay
Thanks for the replies guys. CrazyDave; I've not yet tried the swapping the injectors round, though someone did mention this to me before. The reason I've not tried is that I'm a bit inept when it comes to car DIY. I'll have to get a garage to do this for me, so I was trying to leave this until last. What I haven't checked properly are all the earthing points. I believe there is one on the alternator, one on the gearbox & one more, not sure where that last one is though?? adevr6; I've checked all the connections are definitely in place. I've had the coilpack & leads all off again to make sure I've done it all properly, but the problem still remains. Starting to have doubts about the Ignition Switch so I might try that next. What I'll also do though is have a good look at the earthing points and check for dodgy connections etc... Once again guys, thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. :) Cheers, Doug -

Not Your Typical Lumpy/Hesitant/Stuttery Problem - FIXED!?!

Just had a look at the post where biggrim was having problems. The issue he was having was with the ECU Relay. Unfortunately, I don't think it's the same problem, as I have now replaced mine & the problems still persist. Thanks for the tip though mate. -
Not Your Typical Lumpy/Hesitant/Stuttery Problem - FIXED!?!

Just been for a drive without the Load Reduction Relay removed & the clicks still occur, so that rules that one out... My next suspect is the relay directly above the ECU Relay in Pos 3. Does anyone know what this might be on a '95 VR6 without aircon or electric seats? Anyway, this relay seemed a bit wobbly, so I took it out for a look & it looked a bit black. I've sprayed it with some contact cleaner & I'll see if it makes any difference on the way home tonight. I would get an auto electrician to take a look, but it only ever occurs whenn you are driving, so I've no idea how he would be able to find the fault?? -
I think a few folk have now used them. There's definitely been a few topics about them, I think the search should pull them up.

Right, tried the plastic cable tie in the old ECU relay trick, as you suggested Crazy Dave. Unfortunately, the clicking was still going crazy. :x I now reckon it has to be the Load Reduction Relay thats doing the clicking. Will it be ok for me to start the car with this relay in, then whip it out for the rest of my journey to see if it's definitely that one? Or is this going to cause me some other problems? -

Just done another scan on VAG-COM & am still getting the following fault: 01253 - Fuel Injector for Cylinder 5 (N83) 63-10 - Temperature Shut-Down - Intermittent. Does anyone have any idea what this fault is? I can't find any info on it anywhere. Cheers. -

Hard to choose as they all look great. :) I think I like 1 & 3 best, as they are a bit different. -
Yup, 40mm it is me thinks....I had best get saving! Anyway, I'll stop hijacking your post about your car ( which is looking mighty fine might I add) :) Cheers.

Not tried that yeat actually. I'm planning to give the ISV a good clean over the weekend, I might as well look at cleaning up the MAF while I'm at it. It's carb cleaner I need for the ISV, do I want contact cleaner for the MAF? Cheers. -
Can't argue with that! :)

Whats the suspension you've got on at the moment then Rob? I rather like the ride height you have at the moment & thats about the height I'm looking to change to, rather than my current 4x4 nonsense.

Been trying to track down whats going on with this. I'm now almost certain it's not fuel related. What I have noticed is that this only happens under throttle (usually only slight pedal movements), and never under idle. Could this be a TPS problem? I had a look under the bonnet last night & it looks like a new style TPS has been fitted at some point. Do these break often? Another thought I had, do you reckon it could be my Clifford alarm/imobiliser causing the problem? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just not wanting to have to buy a new TPS to find out it's not the problem. Thanks, Dogzyboy -
Previous owner stuck this Momo wheel on, I really like it. :D

A mate of mine had one when I had my Scooby. It was pretty damn quick, about the same as the Scoob, though not off the mark. First time he took me out in it was a really wet day, we got to a mini-roundabout & planted the right foot & whacked the steering round and horsed it round the roundabout, I nearly sh@t myself! It was certainly a great car for having fun in!! :D
