  1. just had a set of these fitted by G-Werks (along with a few other bits & bobs), absolutely wicked upgrade!
  2. Excellent Vids Nikki, Zed sounds awesome!!!...you've got me thinking now as i'm going to need a re-map later in the year, anyone who puts in those sort of hours to make sure your car's right sounds spot on to me!
  3. how about G-Werks...the're just down the road from you!
  4. Pearl Green (looking a tad shabby at present but stashing the cash for a re-spray)!

    handling

Don't forget your 'top mounts' if these are shagged they can affect you ride & handling, if your thinking about upgrading your suspension its worth getting it all done at the same time as you'll save on labour costs in the long run!
  6. excellent, good to see your carrying on with the project Ben!
  7. think the 288 & 312 setup's use the same callipers so if you've got enough clearance behind the Borbets then the 288's should be a good bet! EDIT - if they can be mounted on a 4 stud type hub
  8. just renewed mine with Adrian Flux (after haggling between them & Performance Direct) £488 fully comp all in, with all mods declared (inc those i'm shortly adding) which i was pretty happy with!
  9. Thats one wicked looking C mate..definitely one to be proud off!
  10. no worries Borbet A's are wicked looking rims!
  11. I'm droping my VR off at G-Werks this weekend so hopefully will try to get to see one of these kits in the flesh
  12. any more news on this kit (i.e anyone used it already) as would be very interested in bagging one myself for later in the year!
  13. no chance with the Brembo's mate as i've just been having all sorts of fun & games finding wheels that will clear them, need about 50mm on the VR clearance from the hub face to the back of your wheel spokes for the calipers, think its a bit less for the G60 (4 stud jobbies) like 41mm but still a fair bit If you go to the brembo website they've got usefull details of this try:- http://www.brembo.com/CatalogoHPGT/Deta ... idLingua=1 Think Craig!'s suggestion is probably your best plan unless you want to change your wheels.

    Door Removal

Had to change the passenger side door on my VR a while ago after some little shite tried to break into it, buggered up all the old door frame / seals etc. Don't know if yours is different but on my 92 VR i had to unplug each of the wiring harness's to the elec windows (switches & motors), mirrors, central locking etc & thread the whole harness & the tube to the central locking pump out (there was'nt one 'master' disconnector). p.s. was a bit of a bugger as well as had to wiggle some of the connectors like fu** to get them past the hole where the cable transit seal is. If your just changing the door pins though you might be able to get away with just un-plugging everything, lift the harness from the door clips etc which might give you enough slack maybe to lift off the door and rest on the floor (standing up - propped against something) with the rest of the harness still inside the door. p.s. make sure you've got some help to do this though as they are bloody heavy...don't drop it on your foot like i did!!!
  16. They're a nice looking wheel on the C i think!
  17. watch out as i had the same 16" TT alloys before my OZ's and they came with 55 profile tyres originally, had to change them to 45 to suit the VR!

Yeah i'd half worked out the 'Dragon Green' bit...not completely dense. But tbh looks very similar in the photo's to my Pearlescent Green beast which is why i asked!

try Bill over at http://www.Badger5.co.uk he sorted out the High Tensile bolts & carrier's etc for my Brembo 4 pot setup so should think he could source them for the TT 312's as well, he's not local to you but will post...very nice VR by the way, whats the colour out of interest?
  21. Eatthis it's the 'FUCHS Silkolene PRO S 10W-50' your after, when i went hunting around for my source (after taking some of Kev's advice) i found a supplier in Herts called 'RPM Motorsport' (other side of the water from me who sells on E-Bay), not cheap but well worth it, try this link (click on the performance oils section), http://stores.ebay.co.uk/RPM-Motorsport i just drove over & picked mine up but he'll courier it to you, or alternatively think Opie Oils will happily flog you the stuff!
  22. like i said before ive used the Silkolene Pro 10w/50 for nearly a year now, only about 5K all year as its only a weekend car these days, but i reackon i've only actually used half as much oil (between services) as i did when i used the VW stuff, engines on 102K but it really seems to agree with it, seems to have lost some of the noise i had before from the valves, engine seems quieter under hard acceleration as well. I was warned off the fully synthetic VW stuff (think it's called synta Gold) by severall VW mechanics as they said the oil's too thin (5w) for older engines that have gone over 100k. To be fair they suggested the 10w/40 synta silver which is very good, but i opted for the Silkolene as it gives very good protection at high temps.
