  1. for someone who says he's not a mechanic i think you've done superbly there mate!
  2. As per Kev's cut & paste above mate, the cylinder with the vanes on it is the 'Hot Formula traction fluid resovoir' which the charger runs on rather than the engines own oil with some installations above a certain BHP you need to link this to a dedicated remote oil cooler as well (the Rotrex's run at pretty high rpm's), although its not necessary in my coming setup with my SP-84 as i'm not planning to exceed 300bhp (for the mo). PM Mr Fusion if you want more info though as he's been playing around with his a lot longer than i have. p.s. sorry no Torque graph's yet Eatthis as it still a pile of parts in my living room till i get back from my Hols. Alex

    Carbon Canister

sounds like a good idea, been meaning to hook up the cold feed to my BMC CDA for ages!
  4. no worries fella, hope the existing engine comes good but least you've got a back-up plan in place! i'm not sure whether its an original 2.9 OBD1 or bored out 2.8 OBD2 jobby tbh, can't be that hard to change over though as Toad says, i'm sure Kev had this done on his when he had his charger, think the advantage is if you get the Rotrex back on OBD2 makes the mapping side of things easier! p.s. i'd happily vouch for Jimmi as he's a top bloke sorted me out with a wicked Spearco intercooler & a shed load of pipework which i'm going to hook up to my Rotrex eventually. good luck mate anyway, Alex
  5. p.s. worst case check out Jimmi's thread in the 'parts for sale' section as he's got a complete VR lump for sale he's re-built for 500 quid http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=54420
  6. sorry to hear the problems hav'nt been resolved mate, sounds like its turning into a bit of a mare!
  7. came accross this thread last week, gave me the idea of checking the bay & i won a set for £35.99 inc postage, they just turned up today & i'm very pleased...no more cack handbrake hopefully!!! cheers
  8. jesus!!! looks like you had a very very lucky escape mate!
  9. i'll 2nd whats been said above mate, try Bill @ Badger 5, nice bloke & very efficient service i found,i got my 323x28mm discs & brackets from him & their excellent quality, just checked the invoice & they were:- £125 each (£250 total) plus VAT for the ATE grooved discs & £ 45 each (£90 total) plus VAT for the brackets he also does the standard (non grooved discs) for £100 each i think, personally i'd highly recomend the grooved jobbies though as they certainly do the job!

    Newbie

    welcome aboard mate!
  11. i'm not a fan of the whole 2 tone thing, but the engineer in me loves the engineering thats gone into this beast, sort of like the Concorde of the road...bloody glorious!!!
  12. I'm thinking about replacing my Milltek Zorst with something more 'Stealthy', my VR's not a daily driver but the noise at speed is starting to bug me now when i do take it out, can anyone recommend a good Supersprint dealer?

    Marcus VRT

New wheels look good mate, did you buy Darren's TT Comps in the end then? look like they've got plenty of clearance for the Brembo's anyway!
  14. I've got a spare set of the same Ronal TT wheels (if they're the ones with 6 spokes) and they are definitely 7.5J wide, (they're stored in the spare room at home & just went had a look after reading this thread)...don't know whether this helps you. One other thing worth remembering is that they seem to be quite heavy ole wheels (very solidly made though), so by the time you get them on with spacers etc might affect your handling a bit. Good luck anyway!
  15. bloody hell, just read the last few pages of your galley James, this car looks like its going to be an Animal when she's done!!! Nice work, wish i had those sort of skills!
  16. yeah i've used these guys before in the past, before i changed my brakes i got my last set of std discs & pads all round from them, very reasonable prices.
  17. I always used to use Optimax (or whatever it's called now) but to be fair got caught short the other day and filled up on the Sainsbury's 98 Ron Super and to be fair the old girl seemed to love it (not bad for 0.86p per litre too)!

    Best oil

i'll 2nd the Silkolene using 10w50, excellent stuff, not cheap but well worth the money as the old girls hardly using any oil at all now!
  19. The Optima's are well worth the money mate, not cheap but defo won't let you down (shed loads of cranking current), keep and eye out on e-bay i managed to get a brand new sealed blue top for £102 (retails more like £180), the blue tops are really meant for marine usage and internally the same as the yellow tops which are cheaper (more like £150 as said above) & just as good!
  20. i'm running 17x8's ET38 matey without spacers etc and have zero rubbing issues (to be fair i've got a lot of new suspension component's & top mounts / bushes etc so maybe some settling in still), what are the wheels you went for in the end then?

    Slats VR6

Lovely VR with perfect hide mate!
  22. just feels a lot 'tighter' & more together mate, i'm still in the errrmm 'testing' phase as mine have only been on for a few weeks and now the snows put paid to that for a few days at least!
  23. OZ Racing SuperTurismos (GT or the original style) in a 17x8 are fine with the Brembo GT Juniors!
  24. Have just had my H&R front & rear ARB's fitted by G-Werks (top job by the way) and am loving the ride now.....roundabouts are so much more fun!!!! to be fair hav'nt really tried them in anger in the wet yet so can't comment on the 'break away' point etc
