cracked already Will!!!! i'm told good quality internal organs get very good money on the black market these days!!!!
-
Ah but your getting the 'full fat' version 30-94 mate (lucky devil), as opposed to my 'semi-skimmed' 84 :( , think you'll definitely wipe the flr with me in a straight line! :) Hmmm wonder if you can upgrade the internals on an 84, now thats a thought!

There's some distinctly cunning engineering mate, use a different type of gearing etc that gives very high efficiency and nice globs of boost low down the rev range' cut & pasted from the Rotrex website:- Key to the Rotrex supercharger's unique compactness, efficiency, low noise and reliability is its state of the art traction drive technology. Great speeds and low noise are just some of the advantages of traction drives over traditional gear transmissions. Traction drives transmit power through friction forces between its rolling elements. The Rotrex patented traction drive uses an elastic annulus with a small pre-span to secure contact between the roller planets and the sun shaft with a reasonable force. The patented "ramp effect" increases efficiency and reliability in the transmission by regulating the torque transfer capability on demand through self-adjusting planet geometry. To enhance performance, the Rotrex traction drive uses a special traction fluid. These fluids are a new family of synthetic hydrocarbon oils and greases offering a series of unique performance advantages. Developed specially for its use in Rotrex superchargers, the SX100 momentarily increases viscosity under high surface pressure, enhancing the traction drive performance by securing the optimum friction between rolling elements while cooling and protecting the system. In a few months i'm having a 30-84 fitted (younger brother of the 30-94 but basically the same casing & internals), its the slighly earlier SP series (e-bay purchase) rather than the current C series but still very capable as it uses the same technology! As a footnote most of the Rotrex's people are looking to use are the C30 series (as these are the ones to be fair that have brackets kicking around for them), but have a look at the specs of the C38.....now if someone could make a bracket for that, that would be very interesting to say the least!

No matey not got round to that mission yet (well at least i hope i hav'nt :) ....suppose the CSA could still come knocking), its daft really as although i'm a tall bloke i always love smaller cars. That 156 is a beauty though 8) there's no doubt about that!
-
Thanks mate :) You bought one yet? ;) It is going in the next issue which is out in 2 or 3 weeks all going well. There might even be a mug shot of me too! Poor public :) i'm definitely keeping my eyes open for a nice clean 147 GTA but realistically will probably be towards the end of summer before i buy mate, bloody festival season now so monies going thru my hands like water!
-
that looks bloody stunning Will, is that going in the next issue of Evo?
-
Similar to above mate, i paid the guy the balance of a deposit for my Quaife & re-built gearbox a month or so ago, and he happily let me come & collect it whilst my bank were still transfering the funds, i've delt with him before & i'd happily do so again!
-
There you go, what did i say earlier your planning to Mod the bloody thing already  and you hav'nt even been driving it a week yet....think you need this link again matey! http://www.autodeltashop.com/index.php?cPath=28_59 i'll have a tenner on you boring it out to 3.7L by this time next year!!!! :)

cheers ears, thanks for all the info, i've found the Thermo-Tec on the bay & i'm going to order some up!....good tip with the water spray too, hopefully i'll be able to get busy wrapping mine by the end of next week!
-
Nice work, gotta ask where did you get hold of the heat wrap (i've seen a few different manufacturer's / types outs there) as i've managed to get hold of one of those Raceland's too and need to do the same to mine before it goes on! Also roughly how much (metreage) did you need to wrap it fully. cheers Alex

To be fair mate there's been times in the distant past when i could cheerfully describe my VR the same way...not a problem these days now its a fun car (and still love it all the same)!

CaiosG60 PWR TVR Cerbera - New SS Exhaust P5
alex303 replied to CaiosG60 PWR's topic in Members Gallery
now thats one outrageously nice looking TVR!!! -
no worries mate, must admit my OZ's we're an unexpected expense on top of the brakes too (used to run some 16" TT alloys before but there was no way they'd have cleared them) but hey ho suppose its all a learning curve!
-
as stated above i'm running the same setup as Corozin with the 323x28mm discs, i went for the grooved jobbies (courtesy of Mr Brockbank) as Bill recomended them for fast road use. As Marcus said i'm running 17x8" OZ Racing Superturismo's (think they're ET38 but will check), clearance is still tight though as they are fookin chunky calipers, think there's not much more then a few mm between the calipers & the back of my OZ's spokes. There's some helpfull info on the Brembo website (bit of a clearance guide) which may assist you, try this:- http://www.brembo.com/CatalogoHPGT/Deta ... idLingua=1 All in all they're definitely one of the best upgrades that the C's had so far, love the extra stopping power & feel they give, can't really compare them to the TT 312's as went straight from the stock 280's to the Brembo's. Only used them a few times in real anger to get me out of 'serious' trouble & they hauled the the old beast down bloody fast and without any drama I too though am definitely switching to the Ferodo pads later in the year as have heard a lot of good reports about them from both modded VAG & non-VAG drivers so they're gotta be worth investing in! Alex edit: just found this pic from when Darren fitted them!

Nah your not mad Will, just a petrol head like the rest of us! Looks wicked tbh, a lot of nice details in those Alfa's they way they conceal the rear door handles etc & that interior is lovely. 8) Must admit you've got me thinking about a 147 GTA as a replacemnt for my daily driver (the VR's a fun car for the weekends these days), been sniffing around a few Alfa forums trying to get some more info on them. Do you know what size brembo's yours comes with as keep reading quite a few of the 147 & 156 GTA have had their fronts upgraded from 305mm to the 330 discs and callipers, in some cases for free by the dealer as in some cases (far from all tbh) the original 305mm discs were warping. Horrible rattling, any clues? VR6, PROBLEM FOUND, NOT
alex303 replied to mr_fusion's topic in Engine Bay
Good to hear your back on the road Ben (funny cause mine's got a re-built gearbox from Jimmi with a Quaife in it now), sounds like the lump was a good buy then! Sorry to hear the Rotrex is going though matey, any chance i can take you up on that offer of some help with my SP-30 84 install at some point, the rest of my VR's in a fit state to handle it now (just had clutch, chains, tensioner, water pump and a shed load of other stuff all done) so i'm happy to whack it on, charger's been sat in my spare room for nearly 5 months now & i really want to get going, got all the rest of the kit & the red tops etc, i also went for a 12psi pulley did'nt want to max the charger or my engine out.....well not just yet anyway!!! Alex -
love the look & sound of those Alfa's, interiors are pretty cool too always remind me of a pocket Ferrari! at my friends wedding last year on his farm in kent, his brother had a new shape GT and we spent a good deal of time oggling it, had this wicked tan Momo leather interior looked superb!
