  1. so what happened then Will, did you buy the 156 GTA in the end? Alex
  2. same as fella, but i did get the mounts changed all round 1st (inc a vibra-technics on the front mount)!
  3. 2nd what RS VR6 said the 205's will be fine, sounds like the garage is just being a bit over cautious!
  4. yep he's back i spoke to him this morning! i'm not sure about mapping yet as tbh i've gotta re-build the bank balance next couple of weeks (beer tokens are looking a bit low till payday mate), you'll definitely notice a proper difference even without the map though. Have a word with Daz though as he's recomended someone to me that sounded very very interesting, gotta be done at some point to get the best out of the whole setup!
  5. your gonna love the 268's & VGI mate, picked mine up on Friday from G-Werks & along with a few other bits & bods its really tranceformed the VR!
  6. that looks amazing Craigowl, please tell more!
  7. personally i like this colour a lot, kind of enhances the A3 shape, not to loud though! sounds like someone's thinking of buying one if i'm not miss-taken?
  8. i'm blagging it that my old tubs the Stealthy look  get the VT mate you definitely won't regret it!
  9. most insurance companies will ask you if you want to buy it back for the salvage value, which is normally pretty negligable! Could always buy it back, then use the insurance payout to get it repaired yourself privately using parts you source yourself (would save loads), worth considering if the chassis not fooked!
  10. Aye that was my old girl, Darren really is a wizard! works some seriously long hours too till he's 100% happy with your car, she's got a long way to go yet but we're getting there! I'd cheerfully swap my VR's bodywork for yours though after seeing those photo's...but i think i know what the swift reply would be  i'd very much recomend the VT mount, really sorts out all that squirming around the engine used to do under hard acceleration / braking etc, really nice bit of kit.
  11. Jesus fella, those brakes re-define 'mahoosive'!!! Very nice indeed!
  12. just read your entire gallery Goldie & thats one very very nice looking Storm you've got there! Think you we're getting your KW's fitted whilst my old girl was at Daz's too, really interested to hear some more feedback from you on them as am thinking about changing my Koni's to some variant 2's or 3's (bit of track day fun eventually)! Alex
  13. cheers for the info chaps, in the end was a moot point cause the Parcelforce driver decided he did'nt fancy collecting the box, apparently even though i'd clearly booked the collection as being 45kg on their website (& paid top dollar for it plus insurance) the driver has discretion to refuse to accept anything above 30kg.....nice one Parcelforce!!! ended up with a 650 mile roadtrip last saturday to sort it out but alls cool & the gang now!
  14. I bought my 323x28mm grooved discs, carriers & bolts etc from Bill too, top service, really nice guy to deal with! Try this website mate, there's some outline figures for the complete kits on it, but you can always shop around for Brembo calipers on E-Bay etc and then just get everything else you need from Bill (i picked up a set of brand new Brembo 4 pots for a lot less than the list prices). http://www.badger5.co.uk/
  15. Get them mate, for 400 Quid new thats a complete bargain! one of the best upgrades i've made to my VR (got the 5 stud versions with 323x28mm discs) awesome stopping power as Blue_Joe says!
  16. already tried that and the results we're quite varied, saw everything from 30kg up to 60kg mentioned, need something a bit more definitive!
  17. does anyone on here know the weight of a VR gearbox, have got to arrange for one (complete with Quaife) to be shipped to me from another forum member and need to know the approx weight for the online Parcelforce booking! Does'nt have to be exact but just to the nearest 5kg would be great!
  18. been following this thread with some interest as my ole beast is having its Shrek (from the recent group buy) 268's, Quaiffe & a few other bits & bods fitted this week by the nice chaps at G-Werks. hopefully the end results gonna put a smile on my face!
  19. p.s. Marcus stick with the 305x28mm discs & get them re-drilled if you can, Bill over at Badger 5 did'nt recomend using the TT 312mm discs (think they're slightly thinner) with the Brembo 4 pots when i looked into getting mine!
  20. hmm think he added a digit by accident there mate, i'd say more like 4 digits, 5 would 10K!!! The AP's are wicked brakes though as they do the two part separate bell / disc assemblies which are loads lighter (and loads more expensive unfortunately) than the usual 1 piece affairs!
  21. i'll 2nd the above (VR man i'm afraid) but Darren's done a superb job with my old beast and would'nt trust it with anyone else now! (do i get my tenner now too!!!!) Alex
  22. You'll get there Ben, is JIMMI fitting the new lump for you as well? from what i've seen think he could probably swap them over in his sleep! Alex
