  1. so buy the Alfa and run that til summer when your C's all good again, then sell the Alfa. That way you get all the good bits and get rid of this 'I want a newer car' thing and still get to be a rado owner at the end of it all  besides your sig wouldn't work nearly as well with Alfa instead of Corrado!!
  2. No! What is the line which runs from bonnet to boot if not smooth and sweeping??! Glad you stilll like the C though  Not sure about the back of the A5 though but I think the front looks mean!
  3. Women drivers, what do they know  [/quote:411e7] oi enough of that! I do know that I chose a blackberry vr before you were even old enough to drive  No it decided to die right at the end of the summer, think i used it too much![/quote:411e7] no doubt it's on my about-to-go-wrong list :( glad to hear you've got new blades. You nearly put me off the aero wiper mod - my stds are better than those old ones of yours! Might get round to getting rid of the rear wiper before summer, if I can be bothered as this seems to be one of the few things I could do myself!
  4. hmmm... been thinking about this. Are the braided lines worth it? What sort of cost difference is there? dunno what to go for
  5. no you're right - still loads of fun to drive but very demanding so far this yr. I just want to get all the mech stuff sorted so I can do the mods I want like stilt removal  . At least I don't do so many miles now and can start getting the work done on him. thanks for the encouragement Andy but you're wrong - LK4Z is the best!!! and don't worry, I'm not losing any enthusiasm for rado ownership - I wouldn't have anything else as my sole car. ah I see your sunroof is no longer working...
  6. apparently they migrate.. take it you've seen Spamalot then? saw it last night. very funny. 8) some sort of IQ/driving test?! bad luck Corradude, so infuriating. :x just too much too soon after the windows
  7. just to continue my expensive yr so far, Storm Developments looked at my C last week and have told me that I need to get the head gasket replaced. Apparently water is leaking in and so I guess I'll need new plugs too? They quoted me £600 for the head gasket. Is this about right? I'm sure I heard somewhere that VW charge nearly a grand for this. oh and there are new discs and pads on the way this week to add to this yr's bill. harumph.
  8. I think alfas have a worse rep than they deserve - everyone knows someone who has had a problem with a car and they're not all alfas! I wouldn't go below a 2.0TS for a 156 as they are really under powered. Don't sell the rado though for the 156 - it's not nearly as much fun!
  9. as 3corsameal said, I live in fear of this happening and I'm so sad this has happened to someone on here. Best of luck with the search - maybe someone will spot your distinctive number plate? so gutted for you
  10. C. Will Corrado G60 2, Paint Shield are used by the Porsche dealership I used to work at so I guess they are pretty good! Like the sound of the flames. Not quite the same but I wanted to find a way to give an electric shock to the toerags who were thieving my metal valve caps! Didn't mind too much cos the tyre guy at work just gave me handfuls of them but now I don't work there, I will have to invest in some locking ones!
  11. I like a happy ending! Mine's in the garage next week anyway so think I'll get mine done then. Better safe than extremely sorry. Good spot Tempest
  12. ^^^^^^^ I think I started off like that and look at me now - skint with a half-repaired rado but very happy! :D
  13. not sure whether you mean the scarlet I am now blushing (nickname from uni days) or the blackberry of my vr  Take another look Cazza and count the divisions and look at the position of the needle stop. Iused to think the same :) thanks so much I don't feel quite so stupid now. Nice to know I'm not the only who has thought that!
  14. maybe I should change my sig so that it is me and not my C with the drinking problem?!
  15. oh yeah - never noticed that bottom line before and I thought I was quite an observant person. maybe not... still, when I bought it about 18mths ago, it idled just under 1000rpm and has been dropping slowly ever since. That can't be right???? dunno but can I have some more please? :drinking:
  16. honestly! just taken pic (on camera phone so a bit poor) and today is good day cos it's about 250rpm
  17. If I had the money, I'd pay £7k for a vr6 like that. I'd keep it in the garage too and the only mileage would be to go to shows and for servicing. Lucky you delfinis38! Looks lovely in that pic and good to know that some like that still exist  oh and welcome to the forum!
  18. my vr currently idles at under 200rpm. It has never stalled but still not good I think!! I wouldn't even know where to start with all said on this thread but can't afford to go to a garage at the mo. Ah well, paid on thursday...
  19. gutted that bramble counts as red - not keen on red on any car! I do love bramble though
  20. your new TT wheels look lovely but not as good as my new ones lol! Hope not everyone thinks they are too fussy - I like to be a bit different but I want someone other than me to like them!! marcus, I promise I'll start my own thread once I've got some half decent pix to upload so you can see what they look like on blackberry!! Best of luck getting those new Brembos fitted soon!
  21. And a very nice, very fast supercharged one at that :lol: certainly does from what I've heard... ah well we can all dream oh yes my rear spoiler works - in fact I quite enjoy watching it move in my rear view mirror thinking how different it is from 'normal' cars  . As for being caught out by coppers, the blue light is on top of their cars  and I don't think you stand a worse chance of spotting an unmarked one than in any other car. Besides I never break a speed limit - just carefully but enthusiastically apply the accelerator until that point... Even if the rear view is bad compared to modern cars, it's better than van drivers and you do still have your wing mirrors!! can't help with this cos I've never driven a golf but I know the Corrado is wonderful esp the vr6. Why not let her test drive one when you look to buy, then you shouldn't have any probs!! best of luck
  22. oh but a vr is so much fun (haven't driven any other variants so can't compare) and it sounds fantastic too! I'd just like to point out to farquare, that I'm a girl who has owned her vr for 18mths with no worries about visibility etc. In fact the steering and clutch are a blessing compared to my last car which was a MkII Scirocco but without compromising the fun of a 'driver's car' unlike so many modern cars. It's my daily drive (I've covered a very happy few thousand miles in mine) and my weekend fun - ok it's costs a bit on fuel but from what I've heard on this forum, the 16v doesn't get significantly better figures and imo it's worth it. Go on, go for it, I'm sure you won't regret it!! (as you can see I'm quite enthusiastic about mine  :luvlove: and I know there are other girls on here who will agree with me!!) Good luck with you search
  23. I keep trying to get mine back to a state it's worthy of but the break:fix ratio is round the wrong way   better luck with yours I hope!
  24. wasn't gonna tell til the south coast meet on sat cos I reckon I will get quite a mixed reaction but since it's you Zippy... I got the Team Dynamics Equinox 17s that Marcus was selling. I will put up pix after the meet so hopefully there will be lots of lovely rados in the background! :colours: I wasn't sure I was gonna like them but had to get some quickly (and ones which were close by) but I love them!!
  25. and the Corrado picks up yet another fan.... seems to me that you're just gonna have to bring this one back to it's former splendour then!!
