hmmm.... so, nice place to live and 2 rather nice looking rados... where have I been going wrong???!!
-
also off for Christmas now (and no pc access!) enjoy, all... :x-mas:

completely understand the view of spending money elsewhere on the car (my choice so far), but if you have a minter, I think it can be nice finishing touch. I guess it's also an easy way for us all to recognise each other at meets - I'm sure I'm not the only one who has identified new faces by seeing the reg on the car they arrived in, lol!

3 (dubs only!) in over 9yrs.... 1988 Polo Twist 1992 Scirocco Scala 1995 Corrado VR6
-
ditto... think i only picked mine up a few weeks before you, if my vague recollection of conversation in the car park of the White Horse from the first South Coast is correct  yeah that sounds right! That meet seems a loooooong time ago now. I've met so many nice people and learnt so much through CF since then

I loved my (helios blue with blue leather) MkII Scirocco Scala but I sold it to make way for the rado. Did own both for a couple of weeks though so I got a couple of pix of them together. As has already been said not having pas wasn't ideal, but I still thought it was great. Unfortunately it seemed to be a magnet as people kept on driving into it, the worst one you can see in this pic, dented and scuffed all the way down the pass side. I was not a happy girl....

nearly 2.5 years. Looking fwd to the next 2.5 of rado ownership, and if anything dire happens to this one, I will be getting another...

I've heard that the steering rack differs between early and late models but do they differ across the variants too? (did a search but couldn't find anything) TIA

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...

in this order... - found out that the steering rack is bent - found out that it needs a new track rod - swore at it still, at least the steering wheel now sits straight  -
what a great pic Bill :D

in the slog to work this morning, I passed a group of lads waiting at a bus stop. They all gawped at the S5 in front of me, but it was my C that provoked grins and pointing. I wish I could have heard what one of them was saying to his mate - he looked quite enthusiastic :D

Insurance.. How much are you paying? *With Revised Poll*

I guess them being out of sync is due to whether they were built to order or were left at the docks/dealers for a while before registering. Mine started life as a demonstrator and although it was registered on 19th May 95, the latest date stamp I've found on a part is Jan 95, so I wouldn't be surprised if was an orphan to begin with lol. It would be interesting to know the number of the last one made, I'd like to know how many were made after mine.

mine is model year 95 (S) and number 2282

the rear door handles seem to shift about a bit on the silver one!

also 104.9 - guess Basingstoke counts as London then. grumble...
-
mine is (somewhat inadvertantly) on it's way... should be blackberry but now sporting a black front bumper and slam panel and there is a red wing in my garage waiting to be fitted :rainbow1: Can't wait til I can afford the respray

Do you ever have dreams involving your Corrado?
scarlet_vr6 replied to joebloggsVR69's topic in General Car Chat
not until I read this thread the other day... Dreamt that I won a race (yeah, likely) and my prize was a set of brake discs presented in a carrier bag. Great. :cuckoo: It all made perfect sense at the time, like it does.. -
 tell me that's a misprint by someone! I rent a garage from one of the local housing associations, which works out at about £35pcm and I think that's a lot!

I also tried to buy a Golf MkII in Jan to use as a daily so I could start on the (looong) process of getting my rado to the standard I want. I think the C heard though and got a bit jealous and broke, so the money went on that instead  . I still want a daily but it hasn't happened yet. I think some of the extra cost in running 2 cars would be balanced by a better fuel consumption from the daily. I would also look into a multicar insurance policy with limited mileage on the C to help manage costs. My advice would be to keep the Golf as a daily and keep the rado special. I know I take mine for granted.

It Boils My Piss! Effing Thieving Scrotey Shitbags!

good on you. I had a few sets stolen recently but never caught anyone taking them cos it was when I was at work. Had to go round the car each time to check for any other damage... I shouted at a kid for throwing stones into a side street where my old rocco was parked a couple of years ago. Felt a bit guilty later cos I made him cry but I don't regret it and hope he learnt to be a bit more thoughtful. Hope you don't regret it either. Lol at (and don't blame you for) buying a big fat lock btw! -
many thanks to Bobby (B5VWC) for sunroof switch surround which arrived quickly and very well packaged
