  1. you're right there, its not exactly an attractive car but you have to admire the effort, its pretty obviously done as a giggle but its done REALLY well just like the guy with the brand new Astra - admire the effort but must be crazy lol
  2. it looks like it's at a fairground in a funny mirrors hall. It's horrible!! Maybe I think that cos I like the real ones too much...
  3. yeah you can paypal me the 26p or whatever it is and I won't send it til the money's cleared  The whole pack is cheap enough but I can't remember which size you need and also where you need to go to get them. Think it was B&Q which was better than whatever the other store was but can't remember for sure, so figured it was easier just to send you one. you'll find on CF that everyone likes to help each other out a bit. I have very little mech knowledge (although I'm learning through friends on here) so I'm sure you'll be able to answer a q of mine sometime in return. It's one of the best things about this forum. Just pm me your details and I'll get it sent over the wkend. Fay
  4. aaahh, sorry I asked  I haven't had it smoothed and I won't either cos I like the idea of being able to put mine back to standard if ever I want to be a bit different! I can send you the grommet you need if you like cos you can only buy a bag of 20 so I have 19 lurking around somewhere.... I had a headache earlier so went to the pub too and I feel much better now (my sig is only half true!)
  5. praise b the LOweReD, how did you get on with the wiper and momo s/wheel?
  6. Thats because idiot boy here (me) did it!!!!!! and it looks so much better for it! Even got some good comments about it at no-rice last night so I reckon it was well worth all the hard work
  7. patience. lots and lots of patience. you might find a few well chosen words particularly helpful too. oh and strong arms cos they might start aching!! (says someone who didn't do her own hehe)

spot on with that comment imho! Welcome to CF rado76. Expect to be smiling for a long time to come - I've had my blackberry vr for nearly 2 years now and I'm still like the bloody Cheshire Cat every time I just look out the window at mine, let alone drive him. Sometimes I wonder if I've gone just a bit too far with this..... :cuckoo:
  9. I was under the impression that you split one medium sized piece into 3 parts, one piece per side and third piece for bonnet, roof and tailgate and only used each piece once before binning it. I'm sure someone will correct me if I've got this wrong though
  10. Is it just me or is that innuendo heaven? :norty: PMSL didnt realise when i typed it
  11. no and I'm soooooo skint
  12. I have just been given some unopened Swizol clay but it's old and I'm not sure if it 'goes off'. The stuff I have got is in sealed plastic and has been kept in a airtight box but I think it's 5 or 6 years old....
  13. that's fantastic! nice one 8)
  14. thanks for that info chubbybrown, if I have any probs then my garage can pay!!
  15. tbh the recommended MOT fee is £50+.........so getting it for £40 is a decent discount maybe they felt sorry for me! They already knew they were gonna get a decent amount out of me for brake pipes and rear beam axle bushes  well thanks for that anyway - I feel better now lol
  16. yeah mine was £40. bloody expensive south!
  17. no probs Storm_VR6, I'm sure all will be ok. I've known that mine needed to be replaced for months but as usual, I left it to the last minute. I had no choice in the end cos mine were so bad that they were a failure! I also have heard that sand paper and vaseline would sort them out for a while but not sure how long. I thought all tests were the same price now, just depends on age of car? chubbybrown, I just phoned my garage to find out what was used to replace them and they said copper so I quoted you and they didn't agree. They even reckoned that the originals were copper, partly cos it's easier to shape. Who knows though????!!!!!
  18. that puts me to shame then _leon_  still feels gd though! I think I'd have to get a 2nd rado if I knew mine would be off the road for that long
  19. Storm_VR6, well I paid £225 today to have all rear and front to rear brake pipes replaced (6 in total) so that's £37.50 each but not including VAT. As a girl in the south, I've probably paid over the odds though! I also have a few advisories just in case I was wondering what to spend my money on before the next MOT doom day  , the worst of which are slight movement in both front anti-roll bar link rubbers heavy engine oil leak (which I have a horrible feeling is the head gasket) heavy dampness around NSR shock absorber exhaust corroded rubber suspension bushes cracking I knew about most of this but can't afford to get it all sorted yet
  20. bit of a thread hijack... sorry skinnyman9000 and happy birthday! I've been abroad with work for a month, got back last night and picked my rado up from the garage today. I love my car (despite my £560 bill....)!! 1st thing I did was spend another 40 quid on fuel  and then went for a drive in the sunshine. It was fantastic! The noise, the power, the annoying rattle in the back, the driving position, the jealous glances from other drivers, the bit of trim covering the handbrake falling off every other minute - I loved it all :luvlove: Now I have my rado back, I really feel home and I feel on top of the world :colours: Just wanted to share my euphoria with one and all!
  21. my mum drives a 944 which I thought was great until I finally got my C. Now I spend my time reminding her that my car is faster   My Dad drives a slooooooow 90bhp Passat. There has always been at least one VAG car in the family so it's not surprising that all my cars have been VWs...
  22. at least you have a whole year to sort them before next time, rather than 10 days or whatever before you have to pay for the test again. Unfortunately mine failed on the brake pipes a couple of weeks ago, all 4 rear and front to rear had to be replaced. Get mine back on wed so I'll see what bad news is on advisories then........ I think 4 passes in a row is v impressive. Good work!
  23. yeah you're right, if you love your rado now just wait  I've been abroad since the beginning of March and can't wait til next week when I'm home and can go for a drive again! I'm getting very impatient now...
