Hi Thank you for the reply. My understanding is that the opening is pressure related NOT temperature related ie if the pressure is too high then it bypasses to avoid blowing the matrix. Where is the plastic non-return valve ? Any pictures will be great.

Hi Test the injector that only sprays on the cold start. Keep me informed. :)
-
Hi The cap should be off so that the air gets out. Also, after the boil over, let it cool and then top up to the max mark.
-
Hi How did you check the bypass valve ?
-
Hi Did you do the precautionary thing of removing the fuel pump relay ? Try reseating it or one from a mates car to see if that cures it.
-
Hi Well done. Have you tested that the rad fan comes on when it should.
-
Hi Check the wires to the MAF connector. Also clean the MAF sensor.
-
Hi Well done. I would do it on Boxing Day. Look forward to the piccies. How difficult were the two bumper bolts ? :)
-
:) Hi Most grateful to you. So can you tell me how they work. Do they detect the unusual rise in water pressure and then block any water going to the matrix as a safety measure OR do they detect a sudden drop in water pressure, just as the matrix starts leaking and then block any more water going to the matrix. Thank you in advance.

Hi Just checked the russian site for your car. The stat is in the water pump housing.
-
Hi Cant the old valve be cleaned out with a kettle desacaler ? If anybody does that please take piccies. Cheers.

Hi The isv is supposed to get its current from the coil. Disconnect the battery and clean the coil terminals and spray WD40 over them.
-
Hi Well done. Please tell us where the vac hose was coming from and where it was connected to.
-
Hi Before ordering a starter, I would disconnect the battery negative terminal and disconnect and clean properly and reconnect the the big connectors at the solenoid and also the 2 spade connectors at the solenoid. also check the voltage at the solenoid from the battery positive. keep me informed.
-
Hi Crasher You are a star, So, if the cold start injector circuit uses too much current for some reason, there will be less current going through the solenoid, thereby less movement of the plunger. Do you agree ?
-
Hi Why does my starter solenoid have 2 spade connectors ? Surely, one is enough to get the signal from the ignition switch to pull the plunger. Thanks in advance.

Hi Are the sunroof channels blocked ?

If you were going to do a heater matrix on a VR6............
mattkh replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Engine Bay
Hi Clean the heater blower out. Apparently there are some relays hidden in that area. I would unplug each one, spray switch cleaner, allow to dry and replug. Do not forget to take photos for our sake. Cheers.
