Dead right. It is fuse 16. Given that the fuse blows due to the spoiler while the car is on the road, how come the engine keeps runnning BUT if you stop, turn the engine off then it wont start until fuse 16 is replaced.

Hi Take relay 109 out to take a picture of the pins. Also take a picture of the sides of the relay with a wiring diagram on it. Put the pictures up and we will try and answer.

Are you referring to the manual activation or the actual automatic activation mechanism switch ? -
Hi First thing in the morning, turn ignition on, temp light flashes. If I move key to the next stage, the engine does not crank. If I wait for the temp flashing light to stop, then the engine cranks straight away. Has anybody experienced this. Is there a reason for this ?

Hi Was it fuse 16 ? Look forward to the vw boys diagnosis. I reckon it is the spoiler blowing the fuse.

Hi Is there any fluid in the slave cylinder ? One way to get fluid in is to use a syringe.

Hi What a lovely writeup. Thank you. Did you take a photo of the thermostat. I have read that it can go in two ways. Which is the right way. Also how did you know which order the plug leads went back in.

Hi Push all the relays in. As the shops are closed, remove the X relay ..load relief relay..and clean the contacts and push it back in. Check fuse 16 again. If still not ok, then I suspect the ignition switch.

Hi Ring a VW dealer with the car registration number and they will check if there is any outstanding recall work on your car. The heater matrix bypass valve was a recall. The other way is to replace it yourself. About 30 quid.

Hi Pull the fuel pump relay out and clean the contacts. Then push it back in. When you turn the ignition on you should hear the fuel pump prime.
